I am determined to have a garden this year no matter how small it may be.  Last year we had just put a for sale sign in the yard so I didn't want to plant anything new in case the house sold and I wouldn't be able to reap the harvest.  Well let me just say what a bad idea that was.  We didn't put up our pool last year either because we figured we would just have to take it back down again.  Well this year we are putting up the pool and planting a garden among other things.  Kalene, Richie and I have been getting everything ready.  We planted our seeds inside.  We set up our square foot garden bed closer to the house.  We had great success with this method 2 years ago.  And it is especially great because you don't need a lot of space like you would with traditional methods.  And space is something that we don't have a lot of. 

One thing that I have been looking at getting is a fruit cocktail tree.  I have looked at these in the past but wasn't sure how they'd actually work.  Then recently Shelly brought it up on a Yahoo group and someone else commented that their sister had one and it was great.  I mentioned it to Richie and he said we have to get one.  Richie is all for it too.  So I'll be getting one and sticking it in the back yard.  I'm also planning to take part of the Sunflower Project once my seeds arrive for that.  And I'm hoping to get some raspberry or blackberry bushes.   I'm sure I'll be posting about my gardening adventures as the year goes on.
