When I was little I used to love taking our boat out on the water. We found this great little island to spend our days on. There was rarely anyone else their. We used to love to pretend that we were stranded on it like The Swiss Family Robinson.
I have many great memories from those times on our island. I found a real Indian arrowhead while exploring that island which is one of my treasured possesions to this day. There must have been a special freighter crossing in front of that island, because every half hour we'd spot another one coming. This was so exciting because that meant that there were going to be some monster waves! As the freighter was passing by all of the water would get pulled out away from the shore for a good 5-10 minutes. (This was also a wonderful time to collect shells that were normally covered bt the water.)Then after the freighter passed all the way by the water would come rushing back to its proper location.
We used to love pretending that we were somewhere tropical like Hawaii. We'd wait for those giant wave to start and act like we were surfers. Of course we never had any real boards like these Liquid Force wakeboards, but that never stopped us from living in our imaginary surfin' tropical paradise where we had become stranded and totally cut off from the rest of civilization.
Or until someone else stumbled on our paradise and wanted to play there too. Ah... memories aren't they fun.
