I know that with the crazy gas prices some families are choosing to stay home instead of going on a family vacation.  But for those of you who have decided to go ahead with your vacation plans you know that there is a ton of planning and preparation work that goes into planning a trip for the family.  From the perfect destination to games to play while driving there, you can find all kinds of useful information at the RD.com - Family Life pages.  I love the section that shows the off the beaten path destinations.  These are our kind of vacations.  We love to explore places that everyone else might not choose.

Reader's Digest is a name that pretty much everyone can recognize.  They now have a website that is just as jam packed with good stuff as their magazines are.  Some of the articles you will find at RD.com - Parenting that I thought were pretty useful are "The Stress-less Family Vacation", "Travel Smart: Dollars and Sense", and "The Organized Traveler's Checklist".  One thing that will definately come in handy if you are traveling with children is the section there about games to play on the ride and easy snack ideas.
