Richie woke up this morning and informed me that yesterday was the best day of his life. 

Yesterday was the official back to school day for all of Michigan's public schools.  So in honor of that, I thought that we should have a fun day.  While I was getting ready and doing some computer work, the kids did most of their schoolwork and chores.

Then we went to the mall which made them very happy.  We all got some much needed clothes.  Richie bought himself a gameboy game with the money he made at my sisters garage sale.  Kalene got to go to her favorite store and try on every single pair of jeans in the store before choosing 2 that she loved. 

Then we headed over to the hair salon and got much needed haircuts.  Afterwards, we went home to meet up with dad and have dinner.

But this is not why it was the best day of Richie's life.  After dinner he got his bedroom door fixed so now he can shut it without any problems.  Then out of the blue at 8:00 Rich announces that we are going to Bass Pro Shops!

We got there and found Richie the perfect bow.  He is 10 and this is the first year that he can hunt.  He's so excited.  He practiced pulling the bow all day long.  And in his words "it is the best bow in the store mom"

It was a great experience.  They gave him lessons on how to stand and shoot properly.  It was an exciting thing to see my boy looking more like a man.
