A couple of years ago I had the chance to experience what it was like to attend a church service that was being held in an old theater. This was a very new experience for me. But I remember thinking that although it was a little strange it was also pretty cool. I loved the fact that it was outside the box compared to what one thinks of when they think about a church building.
But what I really loved about it was how it made going to church less religious. It was awesome as a fairly new believer to see that worshipping God can take place anywhere, even in an old theater.
I have been hearing about these theater churches more and more these days. If you've never heard of the you can Find out more.
If you happen to live anywhere near Silver Spring Maryland this is your chance to Find out more.
On October 22 & 23 there will be a first ever Theater Church conference held.
Have you ever attended a church service that was being held in a non-traditional location like an old theater? What is the strangest place you have ever heard of a service being held?
What are your thoughts about turning an old theater into a church?
