Fishing as a Family Tradition
My husband is so excited that it is finally fishing time. Today he took out his boat with his uncle and went fishing. I wish that he had one of those nifty nautical clocks like they sell at American Marine Supply so he could tell just how long he has been out on the water. When he gets out there he totally loses track of time. I am thankful that he has been given the opportunity to spend some precious time with his uncle. He is getting to know his uncle better, and I think that is important for men to bond. I have noticed that fishing is like this secret male bonding time that males of all ages love and can appreciate as well. I do not know what it is about fishing. But I am telling you that it works every time. My husband comes from a long line of self proclaimed professional fisherman. His father was an avid fisher and passed his love of fishing on to my husband. Now my husband is sharing his love of fishing with our son. It gives him a great opportunity to spend time with our son and have great conversations. So, is fishing a large part of your family? Do you have any memories of days spent fishing?

My husband's family loves to fish. But, he doesn't really (I mean it's alright to him, it's just not his passion). He loves to farm. But, it's the same - he totally loses all track of time when he's out there. It's too bad he couldn't do it for a living and provide a stable income for us at the same time. Maybe early retirement towards that goal. If it's God's will.
