Super Saving Saturday

Posted in Super Savings Saturday

It's one of my favorite posts of the week.  My Super Saving Saturday post hosted by none other that Crystal form Money Saving Mom

Well I have to admit that I didn't spend time this week putting together a plan, and I definately paid for it literally.

I did alright at CVS.  I was able to grow my ECB's considerably.  Thank you CVS for all the great coupons you sent me.  I was worried for a while there that you had forgotten about me.  I kept hearing about the great coupons that everyone else was getting.  I kept checking my inbox and it was empty.  I haven't gotten any register coupons in forever.  Then last Thursday I finally got something.  And it was a great coupon too!  $5 off Skin Effects, which happeded to be giving $5 ECBs when you buy $20 worth.

But to make this deal even better, my sister still had a few $2 off Skin Effects from a while ago.  So I bought 4 Skin Effects face wash for $5.99 each - $5 CVS Coupon - $2 manufacturer coupon = free.  Plus $5 ECB back!

There were quite a few monthly deals available so I snagged those up too since they don't always stick around for too long.

DSCF3350

1 canister of Folgers Coffee
1 Gillette Venus Embrace
4 Skin Effects Facewash
1 Gallon of Milk
1 bag of Purina Dog Food
1 Colgate 360 Toothbrush
2 Freestyle Monitor
1 pack of 24 Ice Mountain bottled water
1 package of Charmin 12 rolls
2 Newspapers
1 Oralpik Traveler

TOTAL $6.60
Total Savings $222.07

I now have $43.75 in ECB's

Now for my grocery shopping.  I will start off by saying that my first mistake was thinking that I could just run into the store with my coupons and NO plan!  This is how I used to shop.  Well minus the coupons.  So I didn't do great.  I was tired and didn't feel like shopping at all.  I waited until we were out of the basics and then I panicked and ran to Kroger and spent way too much and forgot a bunch of stuff.  So then I had to run to Aldis later in the week to get everything I forgot.  Needless to say I will have a plan this week for sure.

DSCF3355

1 package of Ground Round
3 packages of Amish chicken breast

Most of my bill was for meats.

So the lesson here is to have a plan and stick to it.

Super Saving Saturday

It's time for Super Saving Saturday hosted by Money Saving Mom

This is one of my favorite times of the week.  I love to see how well I spent my money.  Or didn't spend it for that matter.

Because of all that I've learned from Crystal I have really done pretty great at stocking up our cupboards and freezer all while keeping my grocery bill very low.  In fact I am easily spending 50% less than I did before I started shopping this way.   My grocery goal is to not spend over $50 a week.  This includes all food, paper products, health and beauty products, feminine products, dogfood, ect.  So far so good.

I wasn't even planning to go grocery shopping this week since we had plenty already from stocking up during all the sales recently.  But then I heard about an amazing deal at Meijer.  I couldn't just sit by and not take advantage of 17 cent pasta, 50 cent pasta sauce, and $1 tubs of ice cream.  So I went and got this on my first trip.

DSCF3335

I only wanted to use a couple of each coupon that Meijer gave me,  I was a little chicken.  I hate when the cashier gives you the look.  The one that tells you that you must be doing something wrong in order to get so much for so little.  But I didn't get that look at all.  I left spending $  and feeling great.  So great in fact I rushed home to share my newfound deal with all of you.  Then I went back..... twice!  Heres what I got from those trips.

DSCF3337

DSCF3344

 So here's the breakdown:

1 pound of Maple Ham Lunchmeat
1 bottle of Ranch Dressing
10 Jars of Pasta Sauce
10 Bags Frozen Veggies
10 Boxes of Pasta
10 Bags of Baking Chips
10 Tubs of Ice cream
6 Boxes of Graham Crackers
2 Fuze Drinks
1 bottle of Coffeemate Creamer
1 bag of French Fries

TOTAL $38.99
Total Savings $92.51

Since CVS was so kind as to give out new coupons, I decided I'd better take advantage of them before they're gone again.  So I ran into CVS to pick up a couple of the April monthly deals that I hadn't gotten yet.  I went back again on Friday and got most of the May Monthly deals that I wanted.

DSCF3347

 Now for CVS ~

6 Post it Flags
2 Tubes of Aquafresh Extreme Clean
1 tube of Aquafresh Advanced
2 bottles of Diet Pepsi
2 Reese's Candybars
2 Colgate 360 Toothbrushes
2 boxes of Tums Quickpacks
1 pack of BIC Soliel Refills
2 Tubes Of Lumene Aktiva
4 Bottles of Softsoap
2 Detroit Free Press newspapers
1 Skin Effects Facial Cleanser

4 boxes of CVS Rapid Release Pain Relief

TOTAL $11.88
Total Savings $106.14

ECB's For Next Time $29.93

Last week I mentioned a company I work with to earn some extra money.  This week I thought I'd tell you about two more companies that pay you to click on the email they send you daily.

Warning: I use a yahoo account for these kinds of companies that way my "real" email isn't getting flooded with paid emails everyday.  It takes less than a second to click on an email and you earn money for each one you click.  It's so Easy.

Okay well that's my shameless plug for you for the week.

I hope you are having a lovely week.

It's time for Super Saving Saturday hosted by Money Saving Mom and CVS Superstars hosted by The "Cents"sible Sawyer

I had a pretty good run at Kroger this week.  There was a great deal on General Mills products.  Also I was able to pick up quite a few free after coupon items.  This is also the first time I signed up for the coupons from Kroger's site that you download onto your Kroger card.  I don't know what took me so long.  But these are great.  You can use these coupons on top of your manufacturer's coupons.  That spells extra savings to me!  So here's a shot of my groceries.

One more noteworthy thing to mention is the contest over at BeCentsAble

I also got my check in the mail from Cashcrate!  This is only my second check from them, but so far it really seems to be working out for me.

Well I'm off to see how everyone else did this week.  Did you come across some good deals.  Leave me a comment and let me know all about it.  I love to hear how others were able to save money too.

Here's another issue of Super Saving Saturday being hosted by Money Saving Mom.  You can also check out some other CVS Superstars at the "Cent"sible Sawyer site.

I had an alright week.  I spent more than I really wanted to on my groceries, but I did pick up a lot of barbecue type meat which was Rich's request.

Crystal asked for pictures of freebies from this week.

I was surprised to find this one in the mail since I wasn't completely sure if I would get this one when I signed up for it.  I have been getting some great freebies in the mail lately.  I've gotten coffee, magazines, post-its,toothpaste, perfume, makeup, shampoo, conditioner, ziplock bags, teas, and more.  I love getting freebies.  It takes checking the mail from ordinary to exciting.  Its kind of like game a game to see what came in the mail each day.
