In the beginning of September our family took a vacation to this GREAT place! We had not taken a summer vacation and I received a post card promotion in the mail. It advertised Great Wolf Lodge having a homeschooler special if you went there during September or October. It was less than half price and it included the room (which was very nice) and the indoor water park.

We thought we’d try it. Everyone there seemed very nice even when speaking to them on the phone. We had to pay $20 extra per day because we had an extra child (this also covered the water park). The baby didn’t cost extra and they brought a pack-n-play to the room for “Precious“.

The hot tub pool
It was so nice being there during their “off-season” or slow time. We didn’t have to wait in line for the slides and it was easier to keep track of your kids. I liked that in the afternoon I could go back to the room with the 2 youngest for naps and “mommy quiet time” while Daddy stayed at the park with the older children, having LOADS of fun! He could easily call to the room to talk with me. They also had a convenient wristband that each person wore to get into the water park. This wristband could be programmed to open your room door so you could just run it over the panel at your door and the wolf’s eyes Also, the rooms included free Internet service if you brought your own computer! They had a Cub Club and Cub Club Room.

This room was open from 10 am to 6 pm most days. The room had a play area and toys, a child-sized colorful computer, and child-sized tables to work on crafts and activities.

They had different crafts all day. Many cost $2, $3, or $5, or a few $7 but 2 each day were free. We went to several free activities. They did play-doh, finger painting, made a paper fish, and water color painting. Right beside the Cub Club Room was the gym(called the Iron Horse Fitness room). They also had a Bear Claw Café which included Pizza Hut. They had an elements Spa featuring Scoops Kid’s Spa. There was a large indoor arcade with ticket redemption, too(we didn’t do these things.) We were happily busy with the wonderful indoor water park.

We even ran into an old home school friend and made some new ones! Another fun thing was the animated Clock tower that performed at specific times.

We usually watched the evening show. After that show, a Great Wolf Lodge employee read a children’s story at the large fireplace.

We had a really great time at Great Wolf Lodge!
