May. 2, 2008 - Why God Made My Boys
Posted by Amy
To teach me…
Todd- Treasure every moment, no matter how short…
To cling to God’s comfort…
To comfort others…
That I don’t have to understand everything, but trust in God’s divine plan
Adam- To give away hugs and kisses freely and to love always…
To experience God’s creation, from the small ant to the moon, high in the sky…
To not worry about everything, but take a “leap” once in awhile…
To be happy, for God has blessed me- my cup overflows!…
That snakes, spiders, and dirt are a part of God’s creation too…
There is beauty in all of God’s creation!
That you can learn through mistakes, playing, and other people, not just by ABC’s and 123’s…
That it doesn’t matter if your hair sticks straight up, for God sees your heart…
That shouting out loud, instead of remaining quiet is sometimes the best thing…
That it doesn’t matter if you sing of key or have no rhythm, God just wants you to praise Him…
Daniel- That being in the arms of someone you love is always a good place to be…
That playing with something noisy is a lot more fun than washing dishes…
That what one child needs is not necessarily the same as another…
Not all boys are the same, but all are to be cherished…
That life may get rough sometimes, but God will always smooth things out…
To make time for what is important…
That I can’t do anything on my own- I need God’s help on everything…
When I think the day can’t get any crazier, just stop and pray, God can calm any storm!
Of course, I can’t say exactly why God created each of my boys, but I learn things from them every day. I also know that God wants me to teach my boys about Him. I pray that someday my sons will grow to know God and be men of strong faith, teaching others about God.

May. 2, 2008 - Why I love to be a mom...
Posted by ThreeLittleLadies
I have four great reasons to love being a mom. Of course they are my four children. I love watching them grow, helping them learn, getting little momentos from them on a daily basis, hearing them pray, watching them make right choices when they do, seeing their individuality come out - crazy clothing choices, amazing drawing skills, lots of hugs... I can't think of any thing in life that would be better than being a mom!
Carol
PS. If I win, someone else can get the devotional book for moms as a second place - I've already got it.

Being a mother has taught me so much about how God loves us. It is a huge blessing that I am so thankful for every day.
It's so fun to have a daughter to be silly with, to cry with, to dance with, to learn with. My daughter is going to be my best friend one day. She's just an awesome person!

Thanks for the chance to win! I love that journal, so pretty.
One thing I love about my children is to watch how caring they can be. My daughter stops the show to help a friend up, or to ask grandma how she's been feeling. My son comes up and pats people on the back, and asks every person that passes "how you doing?" It's so sweet to watch them interact with people in ways that leave them feeling good inside.
Blessings,
Valerie

Why do I love being a mom? Oh my...where to start! First of all, especially as a homeschooling mom, I think I can safely say that the Lord has taught ME more than I could ever teach my children...just by becoming their mother! I am so thankful for the lessons on love that I have learned through motherhood. I especially love the snuggles, the quick forgiveness of mommy, hearing and seeing new milestones myself, seeing them learn new things, hearing them giggle. :)

How wonderful!
WELL...I am so blessed to be a mom. I have 4 children so far, and I pray that God will continue to pour His blessings out on us, in the form of more children!
Every morning I watch the public schooled kids out of my window, walking down the sidewalks on their way to school. Some of these children were rushed out the door, so they can be on time, and so Mommy can make it to work. I know of some children who are pretty much getting themselves to school. Most of the time without a breakfast. While watching these kids out of my window, I smile to myself and think of my children all snug in their beds. They will wake up to their mommy setting breakfast on the table. There is no rush here! I am SO blessed to be able to have my kids home with me everyday. We learn together, play together, and pray together. I get to be the one that witnesses the excitement on their faces when they read their first books all on their own. And when a concept or biblical truth clicks in their minds. It is so precious!! I am VERY blessed to be able to be a mom. But not just a mom...but a homeschooling, discipling, nurturing, Christian mother. There is nothing like it and nothing compares to it!!

I have eight reasons why I love being a mom. I have eight beautiful children who show me every day how important it is to love, give grace, have joy, and learn new things. I love how I get to watch them learn each day as they do their studies. I love how they love life and how they are eager to share that life and love for life and Jesus with each other.
I don't know what my life was like before being their mom but I am so glad God gave me this wonderful life.

I feel so blessed to be a Mom, because I have wanted to be a Mom since I could talk. I always said I wanted 5 children and that's just what I have. We would have career day at school and I would dress up as a Mom. I would tie dolls to my legs. And now that I am a Mom, that was very accurate;p I also feel blessed, because they are healthy and love Jesus even at their young ages. Another blessing that doesn't always seem like one is that they show me my weakness and sin. They show me that I need Jesus to make it through my day and sometimes moment by moment. They show me those areas that I am still not fully given over to Jesus in. When I see attitudes in them that I have demonstrated to them. I am blessed with repentance. I have learned what it is to have a purer Faith and trust that I couldn't have with out them.
Thank you for having this contest and for your generous offer.

I have 5 beautiful blessings (and one in heaven) that I am so thankful for, especially since God turned my heart around to receiving His blessings. "Lo children are a heritage from the Lord."
I love watching them learn, play and enjoy this life that God has blessed them with. I especially love seeing them grow in their relationship with the Lord.
Thank you for a wonderful contest.
Blessings,
Michelle

Thanks for a great contest! The pink journal is so pretty.
I'm surely blessed 4 times over by these precious gifts from God. The Lord has taught me so much through being a mother and I've drawn closer to him. It is a privilege to be able to raise them for Him and I know there are many who long to be mothers and are not so I am very thankful.
I'll link your contest on my blog!

May. 3, 2008 - What Motherhood has done for me...
Posted by SweetSavages
I feel like the most blessed woman in the world. See, I was raised as an only child. I had a lot of "MEMEMEMEMEMEME" in ME when we got married. I needed time for ME. I liked things my way. I wanted time alone. I wanted to go to the bathroom by myself, and I certainly loved my sleep and didn't want anyone to mess with that. Then, God sent me ASLAN....sweet, colicky, crabby, bald baby #1. I cried, he cried, I cried, he cried. We both wanted our way, and he got it. I grew so much that first year of motherhood. When he was 20 mos old, lo and behold, his brother was born. He was named Noah (which means peaceful and restful ) Because of his intense brother. Fortunately he was a more peacfeul baby....I grew in character some more....fast forward through babies # 3,4,5,6....I am a NEW person. I no longer need ME time, My whole life and joy comes from serving. I love that I work for and serve an awesome husband and 6 of the neatest kids that I've ever met. I'm so thankful that God has given me a whole flock of children cause He has used each one to mold me to be more and more like my Heavenly Father and less and less like the brat that I was. Chances are, I will have more character building in my future, but I count it all joy now, I don't cry over selfishness, and I feel so blessed to have such a big family that I didn't have growing up full of so much fun!!!

My kids pick me dandelions. They hug me when I cry. They are always full of kisses and hugs for me. They always tell me that they love me. I know God has entrusted these sweet souls to my husband and I...that is such a wonderful blessing in itself.
Thanks so much for this chance and Happy Mother's Day to all your mama's out there!!! xoxo

Becoming a mom has been one of the greatest things that have happened to me and to be blessed three times with that reward is beyond anything I had ever hoped for. Being a mom is hard hard work for sure but knowing I'm raising a future generation to love God and do HIS work on earth is so worth it. Also the little moments they bring to my life, the I Love You's, Can I Help You, the hugs and kisses, the prayers for me and dad, the excitement of family nights and all the other fun rewarding things make life very rewarding. I thank God for my children and that he allowed me to be a mother.

There is no greater blessing than being a mom. A day does not go by that I don't thank God for the gift of these children. And through them I reflect on God's love for us as His children. He uses them daily to open my eyes to His longsuffering and forgiveness.

My husband tells me all the time, "You're livin' your dream." And he's right. I am. All I've ever wanted to do was be a wife and mother. And I am so thankful to have the four wonderful children I have and to be able to stay home with them and homeschool them. I am blessed.

My guys are both treasures & tools. Their joy, laughter, & love make me rich beyond measure. God uses my experiences as a parent to teach me about the heart of Father God. (If you who are evil know how to give good gifts, how much more does your Father in heaven?)

Hi! Thanks for your comment on my May Day post! One thing I've been very grateful for lately is that my oldest daughter wants to snuggle a bit before going down for her nap - it is the most precious time and makes me thankful for the opportunity to have these special blessings in my home.
Happy Mother's Day!

I always wanted to be mommy, so I feel very blessed that I got to have four wonderful children so close together. I love that they are the best of friends and don't know what to do without each other. The sweetest words I hear are them telling each other "I love you." And the next best is when they hug and say "sorry" after a fight. Yes, I am proud of my kids' creativity, imagination, and incredible brains, but the biggest blessing I get from being a mom is to see my kids grow in love.

May. 10, 2008 - Mothers' Day Give Away
Posted by Anonymous
My name is Barbara Ethridge and I'm a grandmother to 6 little blessings with number 7 due in late Nov. or early Dec. I have two grown sons who are producing these little blessings (with the help of their wives, of course.) I'm blessed to be a mother because I chose motherhood as a career. Motherhood has huge challanges and wonderful rewards. I have two grown sons, each with their own families, as I previously stated; still, at a moments notice, either son is here to help my husband and I with any and everything. My youngest son even crawled under our house at 10:30 one night to fix an air conditioner duct that the dogs had pulled loose. My husband and I don't have to worry about anything because our sons will take care of it. But, back to the career of motherhood and why I love it. Motherhood has as many, if not more, day to day challanges, hurdles to jump, and problems to solve than any other career; but by far it has more rewards. God has said that we will reap what we sow. It is the same with motherhood. Don't look at motherhood as something that comes easily and naturally. We must constantly learn and grow as with any career. We are shaping our childrens' and grandchildrens' lives now and their and OUR future too. I am so thankful that God has placed these precious lives in my hands to mold and to teach and to care for. Handled with love and prayer, our children and grandchildren will bless us 100 times over. Mine certainly have blessed me. I homeschooled my boys and now I'm helping to homeschool my grandchildren. Motherhood is a career that never ends and the blessings and rewards never end either. God has richly blessed me for making motherhood (and grandmotherhood) as my career. (Since I'm new at all this "blogging" stuff, let me give you my email address. I'm not a registered user yet, because I'm not even sure how to register. I looked at the signup but it said something about a web address? I have an email address, but not a web address. Again, my name is Barbara Etlhridge. My email address is: thedustypockethobbit@gmail.com.
