Time4Learning Review
Dec. 15, 2008 • 11:14 AM

Those of you that stop by my blog know that I write product reviews for The TOS Homeschool Crew! We have a lot of reviews due this week so stop back if you like learning about new products for your homeschool.
Here is one product website we had access to:

Time4Learning is an online educational program consisting of math and language arts curriculums from preschool through eighth grade. You can also find some Science and Social Studies lessons.
Time4Learning provides a flexible, student-paced approach. Children can be placed in different levels by subject. Each student gets an individual secure login to the Time4Learning website so they can access it from any computer at any time. There are no CDs. There is no software installed on the users’ computers.
Students begin by logging in where they see the entry to their different subjects. Students can use the system as much or as little as they want and can focus on one subject or work equally on all of them. When they select a subject, they see a collection of units to study in a prearranged sequence. Each unit contains multimedia lessons, interactive exercises, printable worksheets, and assessments. All material is in a recommended order. Most of our members follow our suggested sequence; however, there are no restrictions, giving parents the choice to jump around, skip, or review.
Click here for their getting started guide! It has a lot of helpful information!
The children also learn computer skills and how to navigate the computer in a safe online environment. This site has a lot of material on it, the graphics and animations are well-done. Plus, T4L has a forum for parents to ask for help or just to discuss the program with other T4L users.
However, this particular program is not one I would choose to spend money on because it is secular. I am homeschooling my children to teach them what they need to know and enjoy learning about, without all the garbage. I want our lessons to be Christian-based and since we never have enough time, I don’t want to spend the time or money on secular products that go directly against what we teach from the Bible. This site teaches evolution in its Science lessons and it also pokes fun at family relationships, with siblings making fun of each other, etc. Some may see these as little things but I do not. It goes against what I teach my children. It goes against what God has done for us and given us with his amazing creation and the blessing of a loving family.
Everyone has their own teaching styles, though so you may want to check it out. If so, you can se their lesson demo here!
The cost is $19.95 per month for the first child, and add a second child for $14.95. They also offer a 2 week money back guarantee.
Look for more product reviews coming soon!
