Muffin Tin Monday: Spring
Apr. 6, 2009 • 2:06 PM

This week's Muffin Tin Monday theme is: SPRING/Easter
I didn't plan this so we went with the Spring theme. I realized right before lunch that it was Monday and thought I'd check out the Muffin Tin Monday site to see the theme.
The Easter theme would have been great but I need to plan on it. A cross-shaped sandwich, a licorce crown of thorns, something round (popcorn ball or something to represent the stone that was rolled away) and white pudding with Cool-Whip on top to represent Heaven since our Savior rose again and sits in Heaven! It would have been a great theme but needed some planning!
I am so thankful that Jesus paid this debt and He offers us the gift of salvation and eternal life in Heaven if we accept His gift! I have accepted, have you? ( I hope so!)
Here is our SPRINGTIME Muffin Tin Meal:

Our lunch consisted of scrambled eggs, carrot sticks, an apple, yogurt topped with Springtime sprinkles, a Berry Punch juice pouch, and Robin Eggs (cansy) for dessert. The orange beside the tin is something i tried to do with their utensils. It is an orange paper napkin with the utensils inside and tied to look (somewhat) like a carrot, tied at the top with a green pipe cleaner. It didn't turn out as great as I had imagined but the kids liked them!

Muffin Tin Monday: Rainbow
Mar. 23, 2009 • 8:32 PM

Michelle at Her Cup Overfloweth has a great meme on her blog. I haven't participated in Muffin Tin Monday in quite awhile and my kids certainly missed it.
I love themes!!! Having a theme and a fun way (the muffin tin) to present a meal to my kids makes preparing and serving food more fun... for me .... and my family!
This week's theme was Rainbow!
Here is our Muffin Tin meal:

Muffin Tin Monday: Fruits & Veggies
Nov. 17, 2008 • 1:30 PM
The Muffin Tin Monday theme this week is FRUITS & VEGETABLES!
This was actually a really delicous meal. The kids did really well with it. I LOVED it!

We had a salad in two compartments with cranberries (and then dressing of choice). We had a half grapefruit, some apples, oranges and bananas. We also had apple juice. Popcorn went wonderfully with this lunch. We had CARAMEL APPLE popcorn made by Jolly Time Healthy Pop. It was very good, -just enough flavor and not fake-tasting!
Next week's theme is: Foods we are thankful for/favorites

Muffin Tin Monday: Family Heritage
Nov. 11, 2008 • 6:44 PM
Muffin Tin Monday: Family Heritage Theme:

That was our Family Heritage Muffin Tin lunch! I had some photos pulled out and showed the children when I explained to them why their lunches contained a certain food. Let me explain the chosen foods

When I was growing up, my Father was a meat & potato man. Mom usually made meat and potatoes for most meals (plus a veggie). Dad being a hunter it was often wild game but I didn't have that (or want it). So that is why I have the bologna sticks. For potatoes I chose french fries because I think they are a good lunch item and also... My Mother-in-law was French. Since french fries aren't actually from France, I also included a slice of Brie cheese. Then we have Spanish rice (for my father-in-law). Then in the top corner was chocolate licorce. This is because my pappy used to go to the market and buy us chocolate (and also grape) licorce sticks. That was the heritage-history part but the drink was for the future as it was the children's choice. The children were told that was their history but that THEY are the future of our Family!

Muffin Tin Monday
Nov. 3, 2008 • 12:51 PM
Muffin Tin Monday
It's funny but my kids asked me today during school, "Can we have lunch in those muffin pans again?" I thought well, it is Monday and I dodn't know what to make them for lunch so... that was an easy "Sure!" answer to give!
So... I jumped on over to Sycramore Stirrings, the host of Muffin Tin Mondays but found out she is moving. Muffin Tin Mondays meme is also moving to a new blog, Her cup Overfloweth. Well, what was even better, with the switch over, there was no set theme so everything was working out!
Here was the kid's lunch!

We had leftover chicken pieces, carrot sticks, and wheat crackers all to dip into ranch dip/dressing (if desired), then half a banana and two pieces of candy.
I am a theme person so this will be a fun challenge for me. Since my kids really like this idea, I am going to try it for awhile. Whenever I can incorporate the theme, then I will and I'll link up with the others over at the Muffin Tin Monday blog. Next week's theme is NEXT WEEKS THEME: FAMILY HERITAGE/TRADITIONS
Next Week bring your tins filled with foods from your heritage and/or recipes/foods passed down through your family. You can pick your family or do both you and your husband's together. If you really want to get into it, you can incorporate a little history lesson.
Oh- this will be fun. I need to think of the foods for this one. I am going to try to have some old photos of family members to show the kids before or after ther meal.
