Our Nature Hike

Yesterday we took a Nature Hike
The pictures with the kids "holding up" the tree branch, we were just having fun with photography. The branch was actually very high up. The photo of this branch is right before the shots of them with it.
God's world is wonderful and full of beautiful and amazing things!

Look what my kids found!

On Saturday the kids played outside and helped dad with his outdoor work. They loaded more of the cut wood from the large trees that fell in our windy weather a few months ago. They loaded them into the mower wagon and drove them to a new wood pile. While they were doing this I had one excited child after another run inside asking for a jar or container because they found baby snakes. WHAT??? No way.. you are not bringing baby snakes in this house! (YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!) They said that dad said they could and they'd keep them outside. I think they knew better than to bring them inside at all! Well they turned out not to be snakes but these little creatures....

He was given away to a friend whose birthday party my daughter was going to that evening. Don't worry- we did give another gift and we called first to check with the parents.
We hope to find some information on the Internet but haven't had a chance to do so yet! I'd never touch them but they seem much better than snakes! They are still staying outside (for the most part). They are very smelly!
