Sep. 1, 2009 - Crossfire -- Kansas - Posted in Music

Recently I've been revisiting my old favorite music artists, the ones that my Mom and Dad would listen to in the car all the time when I was younger. Artists like Petra, White Heart, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kansas, and Michael W. Smith. While I still thoroughly enjoy my music (Skillet is still my favorite band eva', I've really liked hearing the songs that used to be my favorites again; some of them have even reclaimed their old places in my heart as my favorite songs.

One of them is particularly exciting for me to return to, as it played an important role in my life. I was sitting in my Dad's car when I was ten-years-old, and we were listening to his Kansas CD. I was eagerly reading all of the lyrics to the songs, trying to understand what they were about. One song that sparked my interest was the last song on the CD, entitled "Crossfire".

Underneath the sky of blue, it's a time of choosing
Everybody's holding on to what they're losing
But it all works out okay if you give your life away
To the one who's holding fast, it's a promise that will last

You're caught in a crossfire
Of a greater love than man has ever known
Caught in a crossfire
And you've got to choose which way you're gonna go
Caught in a crossfire
In a world of darkness turn to the light

Time's disappearing, all that you're fearing
Dreamers awaken, chances are taken away

There isn't any in-between, there's no escaping
If you step across the line it's illuminating
And the words are clear and true and they all were meant for you
For you harvest what you sow, so where you gonna go

Chorus

There's no pretending, no other ending
All is forgiven if you are living anew

Everybody faces it now or later
You can't get around it 'cause it's human nature
And deep within the hardest heart
There is something there that knows
There's a hunger life can never fill
'Til you face the one who rose

Chorus

Time's disappearing, all that you're fearing
Dreamers awaken, chances are taken
There's no pretending, no other ending
All is forgiven if you are living anew

Now, I have a very vivid imagination when it comes to song lyrics, so all throughout the song I was picturing myself in the middle of a battlefield. Even though this isn't a Christian song per-say (the man who wrote it is a Christian, but the band was not) I applied it to a Christian scene, in which Satan and his demons were on one side and Jesus and His angels were on the other, and (as the song says) I had to choose which way I had to go!

Now, I'd accepted Jesus into my heart when I was three years old, and I'd been a "good little Christian girl" my whole life. But something about the song really stirred inside of me this need for more. It wasn't enough to say which side I was on, I had to choose and run towards that side of the battlefield! I had to live my life like I'd chosen that side. So, at the end of the song I silently prayed and rededicated my life to Jesus, promising to not just say I'm a Christian, but to actively follow Christ.

So yeah, cool story I thought I'd share with you guys! Luv ya'll!!

Oct. 20, 2008 - Stellar Kart Song - Posted in Music

I've had a Stellar Kart song stuck in my head lately and since I have no news I'll post the lyrics (you can find this song in my playlist):

I'm overdressed for success
In a world that has no shame
I've had enough of seeing love
Being played like some game

I know why the good old days are gone
Cause everyone just tolerates whats wrong
I'm not some empty space for rent

I wanna be innocent
Yours wholeheartedly
Innocent
Every part of me
Take me back so I can see
The way that love was meant to be

Boys and girls, the real world
Is one that's filled with consequence
And all the lies that glamorize
It's a life that's broken

I see why the good old days are gone
Every time I turn my TV on
What's wrong with being different?

I wanna be innocent
Yours wholeheartedly
Innocent
Every part of me
Take me back so I can see
The way that love was meant to be

Buried underneath this avalanche
You are my hope and second chance
Don't let my heart get away

Innocent
Yours wholeheartedly
Innocent
Every part of me
Take me back so I can see
The way that love was meant to be

(13) Other People's Thoughts. What Do You Think?

Sep. 22, 2008 - College and Relient K Song - Posted in Music

Okay, so today was my first day at College! I only had one class today, Music Theory, and it went really well! Lol, actually before class was kinda funny…see I got there early since it was my first day. So I walked into the room and there were 10 guys in there and NO girls! So I thought “Well, I’m early, I’m sure some girls will come soon.” So I sat down and Got my book out and stuff, and then the door opened. I looked up and more guys came in. Two minutes later even more guys come in. And then more! So now I was kinda worried, ’cause it would be kinda awkward if I were the only girl in the class! Well, thankfully, some girls finally showed up. There were about 8 other girls in the class, and 20ish guys. But hey, I’m not alone! Lol! I can’t wait for tomorrow to go to all of my other classes!

O
kay, this is short…Maybe it’s time for a song; I haven’t posted one in a while. Lol, here’s a less serious one, but I LUV it! It’s by Relient K and it’s called “Mood Rings” (you can find it in my playlist if you want to hear it):

We all know the girls that I am talking about
Well they are time bombs and they are ticking
And the only question's when they'll blow up
And they'll blow up, we know that without a doubt
Cause they're those girls that, you know those girls
That let their emotions get the best of them

And I've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
Cause we'll know just what they're thinking, just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she doesn't always act that way
Her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost everyday
She said to me that she's so happy its depressing
And all I said was someone get that girl a mood ring

If its drama you want then look no further
They're like the Real World, meets Boy Meets World
Meets Days of our Lives
And it just kills me how they get away with murder
They'll anger you, then bat their eyes
those pretty eyes that watch you sympathize

And I've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
Cause we'll know just what they're thinking...just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she doesn't always act that way
Her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost everyday
She said to me that she's so stressed out that its soothing
And all I said was someone get that girl a mood ring

Cause when its black means watch your back because you're probably
The last person in the world right now she wants to see
And when its blue it means that you should call her up immediately
And ask her out because she'll most likely agree
And when its green it simply means that she is really stressed
And when its clear it means she's completely emotionless
And that's alright I must confess...

We all know the girls that I am talking about
She liked you Wednesday but now its Friday
And she has to wash her hair
And it just figures that we'll never figure them out
Well first she's Jekyll and then she's Hyde
At least she makes a lovely pair

Mood ring, oh mood ring
Oh tell me will you bring
The key to unlock this mystery?
Of girls and their emotions
Play it back in slow motion
So I may understand the complex infrastructure known as the female mind

Lol, I luv that song…I think girls should all wear mood rings too! I mean, I’m a girl and I don’t understand the female mind either (although I probably understand it a bit more than guys do…probably…)!

Jun. 2, 2008 - Idaho Presentation and Fireflight Song - Posted in Music

Well, the most exciting thing that has happened to me in the past week is that last night my Missions Team gave our presentation about what happened in Orofino a couple months back. It was great to remember stuff that happened to us there and ways that we grew. We got to see a video full of pix and vids from the trip for the first time. It was really cool, I luved seeing all of the pix!

Well, as I said, nothing big has really happened...I can't wait for the summer! I know that I'll have soooo much fun at Rafting Camp!!! :-D My only problem is the sun...I burn very easily! So I'm bringing LOADS of sunscreen!!!! ;-D

Well, this is too short, so here's my favorite song (it will probably change soon. My favorite songs are normally my favorite for about a month and then it changes...)(if you want to hear it, its in my playlist):

Where are the people that accused me?
The ones who beat me down and bruised me
They hide just out of sight
Can’t face me in the light
They’ll return but I’ll be stronger

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I’ve never been
I want to go there
This time I’m not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it’s unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Sometimes it’s hard to just keep going
But faith is moving without knowing
Can I trust what I can’t see
To reach my destiny
I want to take control but I know better

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I’ve never been
I want to go there
This time I’m not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it’s unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Forget the fear it’s just a crutch
That tries to hold you back
And turn your dreams to dust
All you need to do is just trust

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I’ve never been
I want to go there
This time I’m not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it’s unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

May. 12, 2008 - Natalie Grant Song - Posted in Music

Wow, ok so my life is boring...ok, not really, but on a blog it will sound boring! Umm, the only thing really worth mentioning is that I'm back to working on my songs. Yes, I write songs. Not very good ones, but I enjoy it so I do it. In the past two days, I've finally found the right chords for two of my songs! Boo-yah! lol, anyhoo...here's a song by Natalie Grant since I can't think of anything else to write about...(If you want to hear it, you can find it on my playlist (alphabetical by artist name and then name of song)):

Sometimes I get that overwhelming feeling
So sad those faces on TV
If I tried to make a difference would it help anyway
But then I stop and to myself I say

So you wanna change the world
What are you waiting for
You say you’re gonna start right now
What are you waiting for
It only takes one voice
So come on now and shout it out
Give a little more
What are you waiting for

Sometimes I feel a little helpless
Seems like I can’t do a thing
But anything is possible just you wait and see
Good things happen if you just believe

So you wanna change the world
What are you waiting for
You say you’re gonna start right now
What are you waiting for
It only takes one voice
So come on now and shout it out
Give a little more
What are you waiting for

Someday somehow
You're gonna take that step
Cause time is ticking away
Right here right now
Before it’s too late
Gonna face tomorrow today

So you wanna change the world
What are you waiting for
You say you’re gonna start right now
What are you waiting for
It only takes one voice
So come on now and shout it out
Give a little more
What are you waiting for

I guess this song's subject has been on my mind lately. I want to do great things for Jesus, but I don't know what. I write songs, but is that what He wants me to do, or does He have something else in mind? Well, I'll just keep thinking and praying about it and see what He has in store for me. I want to change the world, and I've been waiting for quite some time. But I want to stop waiting and start doing!

Mar. 10, 2008 - Flyleaf Song - Posted in Music

Hmm…I really have nothing to say…except for my Missions Team Meeting yesterday went well! Our church’s Associate Pastor came and talked with us about sharing our testimony and telling people about Christ. I really liked it and I learned a lot! :-D

Umm, yeah. Other than that I have nothing to report…I guess that means I should post a song or something…OH! I’ve got the perfect one! It’s been in my head all day! I luv this song!! I’m not a huge fan of Flyleaf really, but I really like a few of their songs, like this one (you can hear it on my play list; songs are in alphabetical order by artist and then song title):

My hands are searching for You
My arms are outstretched towards You
I feel You on my fingertips
My tongue dances behind my lips for You
This fire runs in through my being
Burning I'm not used to seeing You
I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel You all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

My hands float up above me
And You whisper You love me
And I begin to fade
Into our secret place
The music makes me sway
The angels singing say we are alone with You
I am alone and they are too with You
I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel You all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing
I can feel You all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

And so I cry (holy)
The light is white (holy)
And I see You
I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel You all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

Take my hand
I give it to You
Now you own me
All I am
You said You would
Never leave me
I believe You
I believe

I can feel You all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healed

(16) Other People's Thoughts. What Do You Think?

Jan. 28, 2008 - Stacie Orrico Song - Posted in Music

Ok, so I’m posting, and it’s Monday. But it’s very late Monday, so here’s the plan. Instead of you checking my blog on Monday, check it on Tuesday, because there WILL be a post. Sorry, I post late on Mondays, but at least I still post!

Ok, what’s going on in my life…Well I’ve started walking with Katie (one of my best friends) on Thursdays and I’ve started exercising alone now too. I guess I’m trying to get ready for summer, lol!

Umm…wow, my life is boring. On Sunday we had a Mexico Meeting! YAY!!! MEXICO!!!!!!! :-D It was fun. In small groups we talked about our Bible reading and we practiced sharing our testimonies with each other. Then we talked until it was time to go back upstairs. Then we ate dinner and went around the circle telling each other things that we may need to know about each other since we’ll all be in Mexico together for a week. Then we all prayed together in a style that Rob (our Youth Leader) calls “Popcorn Prayer”. We all prayed thanking God for stuff in short, quick sentences, and then we did the same thing, only this time we asked God for stuff on the trip. Like being able to get across the border (if you have no clue what I’m talking about, go here) and the kids having open hearts to God’s Word and stuff like that. Somehow that all took up three hours, I have no clue how! But it was great! I can’t wait for Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm, ok, I think it’s time for a song. This song has kinda stuck out to me for the past couple of days because it kind of explains what I’m going through right now. Life is slow. I do school, work in AWANA, go to Youth Group, Walk with Katie, go to my friends’ house for my parent’s LIFE group, have Mexico Meetings, soon my Homeschool co-op will start. And yet with all of this I’ve been so bored with life! So I’m trying out some new things and stuff to help me to feel like I’m doing more with my life. Like instead of using the computer all day (which I LUV doing!!) I’m trying to read more and finish writing both songs and stories. Plus, I’m now trying to wake up earlier before school to spend some more time in the morning praying and reading my Bible. Anyhoo, I guess what I’m saying is, I know that there’s more that God wants for my life than just sitting around all day. I won’t be able to all of a sudden change everything, but I’m trying to work myself into doing more with my life. So, here’s the song: More To Life by Stacie Orrico

I’ve got it all, but I feel so deprived
I go up, I come down and I’m emptier inside
Tell me what is this thing that I feel like I’m missing
And why can’t I let it go?

There’s gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high
To satisfy me
‘Cause the more that I’m
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well there’s life, but I’m sure
There’s gotta be more than wanting more

I’ve got the time and I’m wasting it slowly
Here in this moment I’m halfway out the door
Onto the next thing I’m searching
For something that’s missing

There’s gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high
To satisfy me
‘Cause the more that I’m
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well there’s life, but I’m sure
There’s gotta be more

I’m wanting more
I’m always waiting on something
Other than this
Why am I feeling like there’s something I missed?
Yeah

More to life
Than chasing down every temporary high
To satisfy me
‘Cause the more that I’m
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well there’s life, but I’m sure
There’s gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high
To satisfy me
‘Cause the more that I’m
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well there’s life, but I’m sure
There’s gotta be more

Well, yeah. There you go. I’m searching for more right now.

~SeaChel

P.S. Yes, I WILL change the template soon. I will NOT be CHRISTmassy all year long!!! Just give me some time...if I can find it

P.P.S. By the way, I'm not trying to depress you with this post, I'm just telling you where I'm at right now. Plus, after I posted this I was really hyper and happy. I don't know, it was weird, but cool! I guess I should tell you guys things like this more often!

(29) Other People's Thoughts. What Do You Think?

Nov. 30, 2007 - Britt Nicole Song. Edit: And My Friend - Posted in Music

I've been looking for love in another's eyes,
Searching for water but I come up dry.
Thought that I could
Find happiness in the world's applause,
Peace of mind in a worthy cause
Take me back, take me back

Got to trust in the simple truth,
Got to trust all I really need is

You, I'm coming back to You
The only thing I know worth living for
Would you take this heart and make it more like
You, I give it back to You
It's obvious no one could love me more
I'm Yours, and I'm coming, coming back.

Joy that speaks to my deepest need,
Arms never far out of reach.
Yeah, how Your love it
Calls to me when I lose me way
Holds me close when I feel afraid
Take me back, take me back

Got to trust that I'm safe and sound
Got to trust that it all comes down to

You, I'm coming back to You
The only thing I know worth living for
Would you take this heart and make it more like
You, I give it back to You
It's obvious no one could love me more
I'm Yours, and I'm coming, coming back.

So no more getting caught in the middle,
No more waiting for what is unsure.
Back to Your love so true and so simple
Don't understate it or complicate it
It's so simple, yeah, it's so simple. It's

You, I'm coming back to You
The only thing I know worth living for
Would you take this heart and make it more like
You, I give it back to You
It's obvious no one could love me more
I'm Yours, and I'm coming, coming back.

Yeah, I really like this song. I especially love the first verse because I find myself doing that a lot; searching for love in another's eyes, and finding happiness in the world's applause. And I just need to step back and remember the only thing that really matters in this life: God. I should be looking for love in His eyes and finding happiness in His applause because He is all that really matters!
Thoughts?

Edit: I just got back from a sleepover today. I had a really good time, but what I wanted to say is not about that. At the sleepover (it was for our Youth Group Small Group) I found out that one of the newer girls in the group is not a Christian.
I had gone with two of my friends to the bathroom, leaving Danielle* (one of our small group leaders) and Sarah* together. When we got back, they were in the middle of a discussion. I'm not sure exactly what it was about, but Sarah was tearing up and talking to Danielle about how a lot of things in her life went wrong and stuff. Anywho, from what Sarah was saying to Danielle it hit me that she wasn't a Christian (one of the things she said was "You have so much confidence in such a small book!" (meaning the Bible)). So I listened to the conversation while praying that something Danielle said would help her.
The conversation ended after about twenty minutes and we all went to bed. Sarah has not accepted Jesus as her Savior, but from what I heard being said in the conversation, she's looking for answers. I pray that she will find them in God. Would you all please pray for her? Pray that God will show Himself to her. That she would know that He loves her very much, dispite all the things that have happened to her. And that she would accept Him as her personal Savior. Thank-you!

Oct. 4, 2007 - When God Writes Your Love Story - Posted in Music

I just finished reading a great book called "When God Writes Your Love Story". I luved it! It made me think about the love story that God has in store for me.
I have made a commitment to waiting until God brings me the man He has chosen to be my husband. I've never had a boyfriend (although at times I have wanted one) and I'm going to keep it that way until God brings me the right guy. And until then I will work on getting to know my Heavenly Prince, Jesus, more and more.
At the end of the book it had this song and I luved it so much that I wanted to post the lyrics (if you want to hear the song it's in my playlist at the bottom of the page).

Eric and Leslie Ludy - Faithfully

Tonight I saw a shooting star
Made me wonder where you are
For years I have been dreaming of you
And I wonder if you’re thinking of me too

In this world of cheap romance
And love that only fades after the dance
They say I’m a fool to wait for something more
How can I really love someone I’ve never seen before?

But I have longed for true love every day that I have lived
And I know real love is all about learning how to give
So I pray that God will bring you to me
And I pray you’ll find me waiting faithfully

Faithfully, I am yours
From now until forever
Faithfully, I will write
Write you a love song with my life
Cause this kind of love’s worth waiting for
No matter how long it takes I am yours
Faithfully

Tonight I saw two lovers kiss
Reminded me of my own loneliness
They say that I’m a fool to keep on praying for you
How can I give up pleasure for a dream that won’t come true?

But I will keep believing that God still has a plan
And though I cannot see you now, I know that He can
And someday I will give you all of me
Until I find you, I’ll be waiting faithfully

Faithfully, I am yours
From now until forever
Faithfully, I will write
Write you a love song with my life
Cause this kind of love’s worth waiting for
No matter how long it takes I am yours
Faithfully, I am yours
From now until forever
Faithfully, I will write
Write you a love song with my life
Cause this kind of love’s worth waiting for
No matter how long it takes I am yours
Faithfully

Anywho, I don't know why, but I just wanted to post this. hehe!

Aug. 14, 2007 - BarlowGirl Song III - Posted in Music

Tell me who'd have thought that we would be so controversial
And stand against the normal?
Are we too outspoken, loud, and messing up the comfortable
Well, we've been messed up also.
How can we be silent
When a fire burns inside us?
'Cause we're a million strong and getting stronger still
They'll remember we were here.
With a million voices breaking silence till
They'll remember we were here.
We were made to start the riot, take on the impossible
And we will slay the giants.
We are done with fake religion, fighting now to find the movement
Won't stop till we find it.
How can we be silent
When a fire burns inside us?
'Cause we're a million strong and getting stronger still
They'll remember we were here.
With a million voices breaking silence till
They'll remember we were here.
You will remember, you will remember,
You will remember, yes, you'll remember.

Will we be remembered? And what will be remembered of us?

Ok, well I think that this vote has gone on long enough. I will make a new poll soon, but until then here is the winner. Drum roll, please. *drum roll*

Meant to Live by Switchfoot!!!!

What’s really sad is that neither “Stars” nor “Take You Back” got any votes…I thought those two songs are really cool…oh well.

So yeah, Meant to Live will stay on for the next poll, along with last time’s winners: Rebirthing and Letters to the President. I will try and find some new good music for the next poll. Ugh! I keep trying to type poll, but I keep typing pool!

Anywho… umm, here’s a song by Skillet that I really like (I just got their CD “Comatose” and I am obsessed with them at the moment).

Despite the lies that you’re makin’
Your love is mine for the takin’
My love is just waitin’
To turn your tears to roses
I will be the One who’s gonna hold you
I will be the One that you run to
My love is a burning, consuming fire

No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes I’ll light the night with stars
Hear My whispers in the dark
No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes you know I’m never far
Hear My whispers in the dark
Whispers in the dark

You feel so lonely and ragged
You lie here broken and naked
My love is just waiting
To clothe you in crimson roses
I will be the One who’s gonna find you
I will be the One who’s gonna guide you
My love is a burning, consuming fire

No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes I’ll light the night with stars
Hear My whispers in the dark
No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes you know I’m never far
Hear My whispers in the dark
Whispers in the dark

No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes I’ll light the night with stars
Hear My whispers in the dark
No, you’ll never be alone
When darkness comes you know I’m never far
Hear My whispers in the dark
Whispers in the dark

(31) Other People's Thoughts. What Do You Think?

May. 15, 2007 - Steven Curtis Chapman Song - Posted in Music

Ok, I know that I just posted yesterday, but I had to get this out!!! I GOT MY DRIVER’S PERMIT!!!!!!! YEA!! WOOT!!! *jumps up and down* just for you, BlogMonster!

Ok, I don’t want this to be the only thing that I say, it’s rather short. So I’ll do a song. Hehe, this is a great one (since my mind is on this right now).

Well, I couldn’t reach the pedals, but I could hold on to the wheel
I was driving in the Indy in my Dad’s Oldsmobile
And I took the checkered flag and never took the car out of the park
Maybe I was sitting still, but I was driving in my heart
And then one day this young man’s dreams came true
Dad threw the keys to me and said “Let’s see what you can do”

Fire up your engines, come on let’s go
This is where the rubber meets the road
It’s time to put in motion everything you know
This is where the rubber meets the road, meets the road
The rubber meets the road

Well, I drove about an hour and finally made in around the block
I was in all of my glory, Dad was in a state of shock
But it didn’t take long for me to understand
That the road’s a different place when the wheel’s in your hand
You can dream and scheme and talk about it, read it in a book
Look where you want to go, but are you going where you’ve looked?

Fire up your engines, come on let’s go
This is where the rubber meets the road
It’s time to put in motion everything you know
This is where the rubber meets the road, meets the road
The rubber meets the road

I’ve got a Bible on the table, I’ve got 5 more on my shelf
I’ve got a head half full of knowledge far from what I’d call a wealth
But I know what I do know, better yet I know who knows me
And He’s given us directions and He’s throwing us the keys, saying…

Fire up your engines, come on let’s go
This is where the rubber meets the road
It’s time to put in motion everything you know
This is where the rubber meets the road, meets the road
The rubber meets the road

(14) Other People's Thoughts. What Do You Think?

Mar. 13, 2007 - Krystal Meyers Song - Posted in Music

Ok, just so you know, I did a tag so if you want to see it go to the post before this one. I wanted the tag and the song separate.

It's all around, pressure from my so-called friends
It's all around, I'm measured by some stupid trend
It's all around, everyone is just like them
It's all around, it's all around, it's all around

So I'm anticonformity
I don't try too hard to be
I'm not what you think, you see
Inside I've made a change
And I can never be the same
No way!

They conform on individuality
They conform, forget about variety
They conform, they don't know what they believe and
They conform, they conform, they conform

So I'm anticonformity
I don't try too hard to be
I'm not what you think, you see
Inside I've made a change
And I can never be the same
No way!

Image is overrated if it washes off with the rain
You know you've got to go deeper so go against the grain

So I'm anticonformity
I don't try too hard to be
I'm not what you think, you see
Inside I've made a change
And I can never be the same
No way!
Anticonformity
I don't try too hard to be
I'm not what you think, you see
Inside I've made a change
And I can never be the same

Feb. 25, 2007 - BarlowGirl Song II - Posted in Music

So I guess it’s time for another song…hmm…what one should I do? Ok, here’s one by BarlowGirl (sorry, Chris…).

Mirror, Mirror on the wall have I got it?
‘Cause Mirror, you’ve always told me who I am.
I’m finding it’s not easy to be perfect.

So sorry, you won’t define me;
Sorry, you don’t own me.

Who are you to tell me
That I’m less than what I should be?
Who are you?
Who are you?
I don’t need to listen
To the list of things I should do
I won’t try, I won’t try.

Mirror, I am seeing a new reflection
I’m looking into the eyes of He who made me.

And to Him I am beauty beyond compare;
I know He defines me.

Who are you to tell me
That I’m less than what I should be?
Who are you?
Who are you?
I don’t need to listen
To the list of things I should do
I won’t try, I won’t try.

You don’t define me,
You don’t define me.

Who are you to tell me
That I’m less than what I should be?
Who are you?
Who are you?
I don’t need to listen
To the list of things I should do
I won’t try, I won’t try.

Jan. 12, 2007 - Superchic[k] Song - Posted in Music

Here's a song by Superchic[k]. I really like this song because it talks about standing up for what you believe in, and also about living today like there is no tomorrow.

You're bored, gotta wonder if there's more,
Waiting for the dreamlife you thought you had in store.
Trying to feel something you can chase a life that thriller,
Living on the edge, drinking, smoking, dream killers.
Could have been, should have been, would have been,
What might your life have been?
Today you're not a has been, but at your life's end
Will you have regrets then, have regrets then?
Are you ok with today if tomorrow is the end?

Live today through the future's lens,
Don't wanna wish you could rewind and play it again.

Stand up, write the soundtrack for your life.
It doesn't happen to you, you happen to life.
Stand up, you know you're gonna have to fight,
Don't wanna lose the will to find your light.
Stand up, God gave you the gift of life.
It doesn't happen to you, you happen to life.
Stand up, do something with your life.
You're a light on a hill, you're meant to shine so bright.

So bright, so bright, so bright, so bright, so bright, so bright.
So bright, so bright, so bright, so bright, so bright, so bright, so bright.

We're all scared, gotta wonder what's out there,
Shooting down the ones who did what we wish we'd dared.
Everybody's scared to karaoke in the open,
Afraid we're not as special as what we might be hoping.
So we're frozen, haven't chosen, just going through the motions,
Faith and belief, courage overrule emotions.
Stand up and be counted for something when it's time,
Decide where you stand, take your hands, raise 'em high.

Live today through the future's lens,
Don't wanna wish you could reset and play it again.

Stand up, write the soundtrack for your life.
It doesn't happen to you, you happen to life.
Stand up, you know you're gonna have to fight,
Don't wanna lose the will to find your light.
Stand up, you've been given the gift of life.

So, what do you think of this song?
