When we were in our home group last week we were talking about various topics. The couple who leads the group were talking about our relationship with Jesus. They asked 3 questions.
1. Is Jesus your Savior?
2. Is Jesus your Lord ?
3. Is Jesus your life? I can say very easily that Jesus is my Savior. I can say that Jesus is my Lord. Certainly there are areas where I try to be lord, but He is showing me those and changing me. But the third question "Is Jesus your whole life?" was more complex. I really had to think and pray about it.Do I make decisions and ask God to be with me? OR Do I ask Him where He wants me to go and then follow Him? Do I say to Him I will do all that you want? Do I really really want to know His will for me and my family? The more time I spend with Him and understand His great love the more He becomes my life. He is loving, faithful, just, kind, etc... He is my Creator and knows just what I need and ultimately holds my eternity. So for me to not want Him to be my life would be a loss on my part. Matthew 10:38. and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Luke 9:22Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other You cannot serve God and wealth.
Then there is the parables in Matthew 13 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Or "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. I can honestly say that Jesus is becoming more and more my life. I am praying for wisdom and revelation for God to show me how to raise children that love Jesus completely. Since the greatest command is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind. And as I do that I am making Jesus my life. When I read the Bible and pray I began to really grasp His love. He didn't just die on a cross, so I could be forgiven. He was raised again so that I could experience the resurrection life. A life that is at a place of victory. I know longer have to try, but instead I trust Him. As I lay down all those things, that enslave me, at the foot of the cross, I can be free.
Galations 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Perfectly said! And you know, we sing a song at church, and the words say "in all I do, I honor You", and I'm the type of person who just doesn't say things lightly or flippantly. I take those words very seriously and so I say "in all I do, HELP ME to honor You." I want Him to be my life, I must decrease and He must increase, till there is no ME left!
yes, well said. I find that the more humble I become the clearer I can see the simple truth of his love for us.

1. Is Jesus your Savior?
2. Is Jesus your Lord ?
3. Is Jesus your life?
Without an once of reservation I can answer YES to all three questions.
I can't imagine any other answer. He is my Lord, my Savior, and my life. I bring my Lord into all I do. Without Christ, what kind of life could anyone have? He's my everything, my all in all, my... ok, don't let me get started.
I do want to discuss this further but it's late and I'm about to smack my head on the keyboard from dozing off again. I guess I should just take the hint and go to bed.

Yes, Yes and Yes. I try to allow Him to be my life. I want Him to be my all in all.
"Lord help me to not get carried away by the cares of the world and to completely surrender my all to you. Less of stacy and more of you Jesus".
What a great post. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh and BTW- I like your new template.
Be blessed,

I am so in love with Jesus and am seeking to know Him more each day. I am a wife to Jeff and Mommy to 5 children (Bailey 8, Cameron & Collin 6, Kiley 4, and Carter 2). My house is often crazy, but always full of love. This blog is a story of my adventures, God's mercy and grace in my life, and funny days that aren't always very funny at first.
