This years school year has been going really good. I am still working on getting the kids to work faster. I have been telling them they needed their seat work done by lunch. After lunch is for special projects and lapbooking. Yesterday they took forever again. Today I told them if they finished by lunch we would have an hour to do our new lapbook and then I would take them for open swim at the YMCA. Well wouldn't you know it they were able to do it. Now I have been telling them that they could and now I have the proof. HAHAHAA (sinister laugh) So guess what, they will be reminded of their ability often
Carter last year was a terror to say the least. Kiley was also at a stage where she couldn't be part of what we were doing too often and yet wanted my attention. Needless to say I spent way too many days in tears. Well I was determined to do some training this Summer. I knew Kiley would be older and starting preschool, but Carter needed bootcamp 101.
I would sit him down often and with different activities to train him to sit. I would bring him a stack a books sit him on the couch and tell him to look at them. If he got distracted I would sit him back down and cheerfully remind it was time to read books. I did that several times a week and with different activities. Sometimes puzzles, cars, blocks etc... Well my hardwork has paid off and he keeps himself busy during school. I do have him at the table with us sometimes and he is given paper to color. He does know that if he misbehaves he doesn't get to sit there. Sometimes he forgets that and I remind him that he will have to leave the school table and most of the time he straightens right up. I am so thankful. I was praying like crazy for a better year....thank you Lord:)
Last week and this week I was able to get pictures of some of the ways he entertains himself. Here he is collecting pencils and crayons on the floor. He used them to make shapes. I was so impressed. He sat there for about 20-25 minutes and lucky for him my kids don't pick up what they drop.LOL
Today he was playing with his cars. Which is his favorite thing to do. Then he started pulling the video tapes out. I didn't stop him since he seemed to be on a mission. He connected them and then drove his cars inside. Sorry it's blurry I was trying to hurry. He sometimes stops or wrecks what he was doing when he sees the camera. He's still a stinker at times You can see the concentration on his face.
He is showing me one of the cars parked inside.
Also since I am bragging about how good he has been. Since any of you who have read my blog for any length of time know I have shared plenty of his naughty side. LOL He potty trained almost 2 months ago. He was trained in less than a week. And has gone on to help train others LOL
Well I am off to bed. He missed his nap so we could go swimming and fell asleep on the boys bedroom floor at 5:30ish. He didn't even get dinner. I am so afraid to see what time he plans to get up. We tried to wake him several times, but it didn't work. nighty night.

I am so in love with Jesus and am seeking to know Him more each day. I am a wife to Jeff and Mommy to 6 children (Bailey 9, Cameron & Collin 8, Kiley 5, Carter 3 and Brayden born 9/30/09). My house is often crazy, but always full of love. This blog is a story of my adventures, God's mercy and grace in my life, and funny days that aren't always very funny at first.
