Disclaimer... Ok, please don't think this reflects all of my house. You know how you have that junk drawer where you put the things you don't know what to do with. Or suddenly you see someone pull in the driveway and you quickly clear your counters and it lands in "that drawer". Or your husband cleans the kitchen for you and he doesn't know where everything goes so it goes in "that drawer".
Well, we have a room like that and a drawer too. It is a 9x10 room off our family room. Well it got out of hand over Christmas, the various parties, and me doing ebay, etc... The kids would come to me asking where they should put something and I would reply, "put it in the little room".
The room has been clean on several occasions, but always seem to get totaled again. We use the room to keep toys, books, school supplies, and art supplies. I finally was brave enough on New Year's Day to tackle it.
Please remember my disclaimer when viewing pictures. And if you are a super perfectly organized person these pictures could be harmful to your health. Just wanted to warn ya'

Here are the pictures after many many many hours of work.
Much better wouldn't you say
Wow, it looks great. As messy as it might have gotten for you, it's nice that you have that kind of room to mess up. Always nice to have 'extra' rooms. :)

When you were finished I bet you just stepped back and went "AHH!" right? I bet that felt good! I also think that the book in the forefront of the last photo is telling, as you humbled yourself to show us the first few pics ;)
Your house looks like a fun learning environment....in my honest opinion. Sometimes it is freeing to share our spaces....its motivating to shake things up a bit! Besides, we need REALNESS in this world. As homeschoolers, at least in my house, it does NOT tend to look like pages in those decorating magazines. We learn!!! Thank you again.
....we've got a "drawer" room at our home as well. We have this 9x9 room off of our family room. No closet in it. Cold in the winter.
We struggle with wanting it to be an office and then once I get it clean (or when company is coming) I'll tell everyone, "just throw it in the office!" LOL. I don't think you could even see the top of the desk in there right now.
WOW.....what a FANTASTIC job you did on "the little room!" I have an "office" that needs the same attention. You have lit a fire under me to go and tackle that job.
I am so in love with Jesus and am seeking to know Him more each day. I am a wife to Jeff and Mommy to 6 children (Bailey 9, Cameron & Collin 8, Kiley 5, Carter 3 and Brayden born 9/30/09). My house is often crazy, but always full of love. This blog is a story of my adventures, God's mercy and grace in my life, and funny days that aren't always very funny at first.
