Dancing in the Son

Happy New Year

Is it too late to say Happy New Year?
I guess for me this year means a time for change in many areas.  For starters, I have implemented an "A" week and "B" week schedule for our homeschool. I was trying to incorporate some "electives" but I didn't want to change my schedule entirely, so I (through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) came up with a variation on a theme.  On "A" week, my core subjects like Math, Grammar, Science and History are taught on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. While subjects like Spanish, Critical Thinking, Art, Music and Typing are taught on Tuesday and Friday. Then on "B" week I reverse the subjects, and teach "electives" three times a week and the "core" on Tuesday and Friday.
The reason I chose Monday, Wednesday and Thursday is because Friday are usually a "kick-back" day. Some Fridays we spend  hours and hours at the Science Center or the Zoo or the Botanical Gardens or just playing the Cranium Games (we have 4 of them), Monopoly, Soduku or  Set.
I really like this flexibility even though it means that it may take longer to get through certain curricula. For example, I use Sonlight 100 with my daughters who are in high school, and at this rate it will take about twice as long to complete. But, I don't mind because it gives us a break from the routine.  It also allows me to add activities during "B" week to expand on something we covered the week before.

Its me!

Why "Dancing in the Son?"
Because I am a dancer who  is in love with Jesus Christ.
What kind of dance?
Ballet, Jazz, Caribbean and African, and whatever helps me to express worship unto Him.
