Psalm 46:1

Friday, hectic Friday

Sometimes I envy people who rent rather than ‘own’ a house. When they want to move, all they have to do is pick up and go. Yeah, I know that it’s a little harder than that, but it sure seems easier than having to clean for showings! Yesterday was the second showing in a row where we don’t think that anyone came. After all of that cleaning, too! It gave us a head-start for our open house today, but it is still SO frustrating!

Mom went to town yesterday to do some shopping while we did our schoolwork, and around 1:00 we got a call from our real estate agent’s office. They wouldn’t tell me anything other than, “We need to speak to Matt or Cindy Olsen, so please have them call when they become available.” So we started cleaning – not knowing when the showing was. It’s the second time that Mom hasn’t been around, and the agent won’t talk to me! So… at 1:45 they called again. I said, “Hey, my mom gave me permission to go ahead and okay any showings.” Well, the people who wanted to see the house wanted to come between 1:30 and 2:00! I said, “Could you ask them to come at 2:30 instead?” Man alive! There was no way we could be out by 2:00!

Mom got home at 2:07, and we were out of the house by 2:25. We went to the library to hang out for a while. I got online and did some stuff, but not everything I wanted to get done. The boys who were at the computer next to mine were the most foul-mouthed 6th graders I ever saw in my life. What really makes it bad is that they don’t even know what they’re saying. I mean --- they probably don’t even know about God at all, so that’s why they could talk like that.

Anyhow… once we got home, we realized with chagrin that no one had come. I had placed the laundry room door in an exact position –it hadn’t moved at all. There was no realtor’s business card on the table or the piano. All the lights were still on. Everything was exactly as we left it.

Dad got home from work right after we got home from the library, and he decided to take us out to eat! So I ran downstairs and took a quick shower before we left. It’s so hard to decide where to go! Between price ranges and difference of opinions… I’m sure ya’ll are familiar with the circumstances. We ender up going to souper salad. I had a big salad, too many garlic breadsticks, two pieces of pizza (they’re REALLY small pieces), some cottage cheese, a small bowl of chili… and I’m still wondering why I haven’t lost any weight. Oh, dear! Oh, I had tuna noodle casserole and some fettuccini, too. Don’t worry --- I’ll get back on track with the diet!

We went to JCPenney and looked around, but everything is so expensive at places like that – even when it’s 75% off! I was hoping we’d be able to go to ARC this weekend, but I don’t know if it’ll work out. I doubt it. But it won’t kill me! I was at the thrift store last weekend. I just love going and seeing everything! Never the same things… a great place to get decorations, stationery, clothes, movies, books… etc etc etc

Well, I need to get going! Have an awesome weekend, ya’ll!

Emily

I know what you mean about the whole eating out and not losing any weight. I am the same way! Fortunately, I don't eat out very often, but it's still hard at home sometimes with non healthy food in the house!
