Psalm 46:1

I need some input...

Should I stay on homeschool blogger or not? I don't get a whole lot of comments, and it's also a lot harder to stay connected with people than it is with other sites. What should I do? Just use my xanga, or stay with both? Thanks for your input!

Emily

Oh, I don't think you should leave HSB! I definitely need to start reading your blog more often...maybe you could keep blogging at both places?
I don't get too many comments either, so don't feel bad :-D.

Well, I've never had a Xanga, so I wouldn't know :-D. But HSB does have a feature where if you click on the "friends" link in your sidebar (or just go to homeschoolblogger.com/SethsSister/friends) it will show you all your friend's recent posts. That's what I use--it makes it much easier to keep up with people!

Dec. 4, 2007 - a note from Rose

Hello Emily,
Thank you for your comment!

No, I'm afraid I strongly dislike the BBC version of the Chronicles of Narnia. That is all I'm going to say about them. =)

I have never really tried to write a series (unless you consider the Narnian posts "a series" but I wouldn't)
I would imagine that it would be quite hard to keep them in line.

In discussing Love comes softly you stated:
"I was really disappointed with some of the book material, though. I didn't think that it was the way things really would've been back in that time era..." What did you mean by that? What did you think should have been different to make it more historically accurate?

No you shouldn't quit! Don't quit, you have a lovely blog, and interesting posts and comments. They are always interesting to read, please don't go!

Love to hear from you,
Rebekah Rose

Hello! So you don't like the BBC Chronicles? I like them... but they did a better job on the new one so far as casting goes. Otherwise, they didn't do so great (I thought). They threw in too much that wasn't in the books. But I still enjoy it.
I don't think I have a favorite Chronicle... they're all so good! I think it's wonderful that C. S. Lewis wrote them - writing books can be difficult when you're doing a series! (Tough to keep everything in line. Or maybe I'm the only one that has that problem... :D)
I saw the Love Comes Softly movies before I read the book, so I was a movie fan beforehand. I enjoyed the first book, and thought that they really should've kept Clark the way he was in the book. I was really disappointed with some of the book material, though. I didn't think that it was the way things really would've been back in that time era - so I think that the books and the movies are kinda messed up, but I enjoy them all the same.
Well, I think that's enough from me!
Bye!
Emily

I don't care if you leave HSB, I see you every day anyway so I don't visit your blog very often.

Hey, I stumbled upon your blog with the "random blog button". I think it would be easier on you to just keep up with one blog. You seem overwhelmed by having two. If you had just one you could make sure all your pictures were posted, profiles kept up with, and your posts more to your liking.

As to how many comments you get, there are several things to consider. First of all, a lot of people read without commenting - particularly if nothing comes to mind straightaway. Secondly, getting around somewhat yourself can help increase traffic to your blog and the comments left therein. Blogging without visiting and commenting on other blogs or doing some sort of advertising of yourself to others is like trying to talk at a party when you've not invited anyone else.

Just my thoughts off the cuff..
