Mar. 13, 2008 - I am a cross country Starbucks traveler…

Ok, by now you’ve probably read the title of this post (if not, read it before moving on) and wonder what in the world I am talking about. So let me explain. My father’s previous job required that he do a lot of traveling and since we’re a home schooling family we were able to go along. I have been to 24 states and have seen most of the capitals of those 24 states (I think the one I loved the best is Florida’s capital). What is more important, in those 24 states I have visited several Starbucks. I am happy to say I have been to Starbucks in Loveland, CO., Phoenix, AZ., Albuquerque, NM., Nashville, TN., Sevierville, TN., Lexington, KY. just to name a few. My mom and I now are collecting the state coffee mugs (quite large if I do say so myself) from Starbucks. Just think, I discovered my love for Starbuck at a small one located in a grocery store in Cincinnati, OH. after just getting lost in the worst part of Cincinnati there is, where I could have easily met my Maker (I had to get a Frappe after that). I am almost positive that when I start college I will spend quite a bit of my day studying there because it is such a relaxing place. Maybe that’s why I want to work at one. I am a officially a “ cross country Starbucks traveler” and proud of it too.

With this said I will admit that I am wasting my time and yours and I probably should be doing something more productive.

Shaiya

P.S. I want to let everyone know that I am now wearing glasses. Today will be my first real day to wear them and I will need to wear them full-time for a few days then I go do to when I am reading or doing school and when I get headaches. I look really different if I do say so myself.

P.S.S.

Oh yeah I am proud to say that in 14 days it will my 15th birthday. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I don’t really want anything expect maybe a MP3 player which could come in handy when I have to go on a trip with my family as my dad loves to play Classic Rock when traveling. He say it because he needs to stay wake. But I think it’s just a excuse... I mean come on that’s what caffeine is for right. But I wouldn’t know since caffeine does not keep me a wake.*sheepish grin* lol.

Feb. 12, 2008 - Mono.......and... I want to be the next HSB Idol....

Well how is everyone?? Hope no one is sick like I’ve been. I was going to write last week but I was on bed rest for 4 days (Doctor’s orders) and couldn’t bring myself to drag myself to the computer to write but the good news is that I’m better... pretty much 100%. So let me back up and tell you about last week. Let’s see ummmmmmm….. Well on the 3rd we went to a going away party for one of our friends who is getting ready to leave for Iraq. I was feelin’ bad a little but went anyway by the next day I had a horrible sore throat. Tuesday I started running fevers and getting bad aches. Mom looked in the back of my throat and said I had sores so we called the doctor and they said I could come on Thursday for a appointment. Mom loaded me up with a bunch of medicine and on Thursday I went to the doctor. Before I saw the Doctor the nurse did a strep throat test. Man, I hated it. I never had one before but YUCK!!!!! My test came back negative (thank God) but when the Doctor came in he said I had Mono (aka. The kissing disease) which we couldn’t figure out where I got it since I don’t play any sports and I have never kissed anyone! LOL!!! Thankfully that test came back negative also. I was so happy because Mono usually lasts 6 to 12 weeks. So we guessed that I just had a really bad case of the Flu and had to be on bed rest and drink a lot.

Well I wasn’t going to but I decided to enter the HSB Idol contest so here is my song. Sorry but it’s the best I got.

                                     ~~~Worthy~~~
Why am I standing here
Where did I go wrong
I thought I had it together
But I guess I was wrong
So why Lord are you still
With your arms all wide open
When…
Chorus
I’m not worthy of all this love you offer me
I’m not worthy of your Son who died for me
So tell me Lord why do you want me
All I have is yours
Please make me more than who I am to glorify your name
You tell me that I’m forgiven
That you want me to come home
How could you want me when all I have is done you wrong
I’m crying out so hear me Lord
When…
Chorus
I’m not worthy of all this love you offer me
I’m not worthy of your son who died for me
So tell me Lord why do you want me
All I have is yours
Please make me more than who I am to glorify your name
So Everyone please give me your opinions.
Jan. 31, 2008 - learning what the saying Be Strong means... and etc.
Sorry guys it’s been 2 weeks since I last wrote. I‘ve been pretty busy but thankful I’ve stayed caught up on my comments and PM’s. Well I have some bad news. Some of you already know but for the those who don’t here is the story. I had a cousin who had cystic fibrous. She was My dad’s first cousin and only 21 years old. About a year ago she started going down hill and within the past 12 months, 10 of them were spent in the hospital. She needed a lung transplant and something else but I can’t remember. Her life was pretty much a day to day you couldn’t really plan anything as the next day she could be back in the hospital. I saw family on thanksgiving and she had been planning on coming but the day or two before was back in the hospital. Her family came though and told us that at that point the doctors said that as soon as she was strong enough to under go the transplant she was first on the list. Sadly for her to live someone else had to die. So praying for her to get a transplant was also praying someone died. That’s really hard when you think about it. But for the first time we all really thought she was going to get better and have the transplant and it was only a matter of time. But on the 17th God had other plans. The infection took over her body and the antibiotics weren’t working. She was in a lot of pain and the doctors said that they had done everything they could but it wasn’t working and she was dying. So Amanda made the hardest decision I think any one could make. She told her family she was ready to go to heaven and asked to be taken off the breathing machine. This whole time she knew what was happening and it was her decision. The Doctor’s gave her a lot of pain medicine to knock her out and she peacefully passed away. Her funeral was that Tuesday and it was so sad. Not because she died and is heaven but because she was so young. But I know she’s not in pain anymore and I’ll see her again one day.
Ok, for some other sad (sorta) news is Sassy and Poco are gone. I think their new owner is going to be really good for them. Last time I said that I was going to get a horse in about a year. Well I changed my mind. You see the truth is that I’ve sorta lost my love for horses. I don’t know it was like one morning I woke up and didn’t love horses. And let me say since I don’t love them like I did it’s kind weird. If you were to look around my room it would be all horses. I didn’t tell anyone at first because I thought everyone would be mad or something. Well my mom figured it out and she told me that it’s ok if I lost interest and that I shouldn’t worry want others might think. That it’s just what I want that really matters. I told her that my real interest is music and I really want to get into it. So I’m going to start guitar lessons and probably start teaching myself piano. On top of that I’m really into photography and writing. And by the way I just bought myself a digital camera. So here are a bunch of pictures I’ve done. Sorry But I can't post any pictures of myself but for those who personally know and want pictures just tell me and I'll e-mail you some but please remember you have to KNOW me OUTSIDE of HSB.
Ok so I was going to post pictures but my laptop is acting up. So I'll see if I can post some later. ARGH! Computers.
stressful,
shaiya
Dec. 16, 2007 - Walking in winter wonderland… Getting stuck in the snow.
Hey everyone! Well, who has snow????? We have a lot here and it’s really windy so our drifts are huge! Today we tried to go to town and our road is cleared completely but the country road by us had a lot of drifts and our van went off the road. A guy came by in a truck and tried to help pull us out but on the road it has ice with snow on top and is surrounded by cornfields so it’s very windy. Well the first guy was really nice and worked for about an hour to help us get unstuck and he ended up getting stuck. Our family is members of AAA so they could send us a tow truck out but to get through they needed to have the road plowed. Mom called 911 and asked for a county truck to be sent out. They said they would and dispatched a officer. The couple on the corner I guess heard two vehicles were stuck on the scanner and came out to check on everyone and see if we were warm enough. They had a big duty truck and was able to get other guy out and then they came back with the other guy in their truck and tried to get us out. By this time a other neighboring couple came and they were also in a big truck they hooked each truck to each other and then to our van. We got out a little but not much. The tow truck ended up showing up then and it got stuck to so the couple from the corner took my mom, my lil’ sis, and me home while my dad stayed there with the tow truck guy. They ended up thankfully getting our van out. So that’s my snow story how about everyone else???
Well hope everyone stays warm! And please if you can go by and nominate Chris for the 2007 best guy blog award. I know he would really appreciate it.
Dec. 3, 2007 - My mall trip...
Hey guys! Well I wanted to write yesterday but I got home really late. We went to the mall in Indianapolis. It was so much fun. My parents aren’t mall type of people and for that matter most of my clothes are from second-hand stores and what’s funny about it is there all name-brand clothing. The reason I don’t do much mall shopping is because I hate supporting slavery, most of the clothes there are made over seas by children and only get paid a couple of cents daily and then they bring them back to America and jack up the price. But yesterday I completely over wrote that rule. I’ve been saving up for this and man did I spend it. I’ve NEVER, NEVER shopped how I did yesterday. My family been joking how like “ oh, we didn’t spend much but a little bit at the mall, but now Shaiya she spent”. So I guess I’ll tell you guys about some of the new stuff I got. I went to a total of 4 stores personally and they were American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Claries, Aeropostale. I also went to Hollister but didn’t get anything cause it was to dark and didn‘t really see anything I wanted to buy. But I am thinking of going back sometime we they have sales going on because they have a lot of tank tops that would be great for layering under clothes. But I’ll still have to think about that. Ok, well at American Eagle I got new purse that was on clearance. It’s a green and blue hobo style w/ green eagle’s embroidered all over and my parents got me a early gift that were going to get me this year but mom wanted me to be able to try them on and also pick them out to, so I got a pair of blue/green flannel pj’s pants. That are sooooooooooo comfy, I’ve been wearing them all day (it’s a good thing I’m home schooledJ ). Well after AE we went to Aeropostale and they had some really great sales going on. I spent the most there so here is list of everything:
A striped gray and white hooded shirt that was 70% of the clearance price. Defiantly dirt cheap.
A pink and white shirt that was also 70% off the clearance price.
A pack of 3 pairs of socks that were 50% off. One pair is blue and green polka dots, the second pair is blue and gray stripes, and the last pair is all blue.
A red wine sweater that was on sale but not that much.
At Claries I got two headbands one gray and one brown( I bought before I went clothes shopping and they completely match my shirts), a cherry cell phone charm, and some dark red wine nail polish. I also got some earrings but decided against it. And the last store I went to was Bath & Body Works. I wanted to see if they had pumpkin spice lotion at first I asked a clerk and she said she didn’t think they did buy to check on the back wall because they might have some on clearance. To my happiness they did and I got it half off too. Also so I the new seasonal line called “ Vanilla Bean Noel”. I LOVE IT and everyone should go get it. One of my fav. there is warm vanilla sugar but this definitely bets it. And I’ll probably go get some more w/ the coupons they gave me. Well I gotta go, talk to everyone latter.
