"Strange" Homeschooling Day: Sewing Sanitary Pads for Africa!

Yesterday we had a sewing party!

For the last several years our family has been traveling back and forth to the Mulli Children's Home in Africa, an orphanage and home to over 850 abandoned or orphaned children.

We just love it there, and the girls are making friends.

But one of the great needs that they have is for sanitary supplies. Disposals, like we use, are just too expensive, and they don't have anything else. The orphanage stretches their dollars to make them go further, but they need something better.

So we made a bunch of cloth sanitary pads for my mother to take over when she leaves in two weeks! She's also taking a bunch of fabric so they can make them themselves (and maybe turn it into a business!).

Take a look at this video; it's really cute (and short!):

Don't you wish you were there?
