Final Project Pack (unit 10) is up!!
Hey all, Just want you all to know that I have uploaded the project pack for unit 10: Faith tonight.
This one I recommend everyone to do. Whether you are actually working on the Book of Virtues or not. The reason is that it helps you create your own Testimony. There is only 1 project this week and it is "My Testimony."
A persons testimony is personal, its intimate and it's theirs. Every person should think about what they believe, they should know with out a shadow of a doubt how they feel about a Supreme being. they should know if they believe in "scriptures' they should know how they feel about faith, prayer, and so on. This project is geared toward thinking about just these things. it is NON DENOMINATIONAL. I have tried to keep my own beliefs out of the project. I have tried to get your children, and all those who work on this, to really think about what THEY believe.
I highly recommend you do this with your child. Perhaps do this as a family project. I can envision a touching family moment as you each work together and share your thoughts and beliefs. I pray that you will all take this moment to really open up to each other, to share your beliefs and to share your love for each other. This is an opportunity that I will not be passing up. In fact I think this will be something that I plan to do annually.
I do caution you to not put too much pressure on your children. Try not to push your beliefs on them. If they don't know what they believe about a certain aspect (such as prayer, faith, or even the belief in a supreme Being) don't force them to write what you believe. That will not help them to believe. That will actually force them to go against your beliefs. Let them take the time to CHOOSE. Let them see the evidence for themselves and let them use their abilities to think and reason and feel to lead them to their own beliefs. It's perfectly ok for them to say--I DON'T KNOW what I believe--it then gives them a starting point.
I know many try to come up with the perfect gift for Jesus' birthday--isn't a testimony the best gift? But don't wait until then to do it the first time!! Work it in on your study--or now is good!! :)
