College of Homemaking
Ok the question has been asked about my College of Homemaking download.
This was NOT created by me, but was given to my by my Mother-in-law. She went through it YEARS ago with her Relief Society (from Church for those of you not familiar with Relief Society). This group of ladies worked on improving their Homemaking skills.
Now the idea behind this is that there are three degrees that a person can earn. Bachelors, Masters, and a Doctorate. Those same that you earn at a college.
Beginning with the Bachelor's degree, you need to do X amount of tasks listed. I can't remember of the top of my head exactly how many, but I think it's like 15 out of the 20 or something like that. So you do each degree one at a time, signing off on each task--you can have Mom sign it off if the kiddos are doing it, your spouse, or if you are working on it, you can have a friend work on it with you.
Then at the end, you make aprons (one of your Bachelor's degree tasks I believe) and wear them for your graduation ceremony--and create little certificates. Keep in mind this was first created in the 70's. BUT each of these tasks are great to have knowledge of how to do. And most kids never know how to replace a zipper in pants or even know that it's even possible.
So There you go, if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. And if anyone is interested, I am willing to host a College of Homemaking Co-Op of sorts. It will have to start in September though So let me know!!
