A day in the life...

Had a blessed evening last night.  A couple homeschool mom friends of mine set up a meeting to encourage me and cover me with prayer as I head into a new trial in my life.

There was much scripture reading and we sang the song "Knees to the Earth".  That song just speaks exactly where I'm at.  I OWE my life to him.  None of us would be here if it weren't for Christ.  He is a wonderful Saviour.

I also FINALLY received a letter stating that I have an appointment at Ben Taub.  It's still two weeks away, but at least things are getting started.

I am also looking into ways to change my lifelong eating habits for the better and take a healthier approach to life.  I've always been the meat and potatoes kind of gal.  I love a good grilled steak (Porterhouse is my fav).  I do not believe that I can't have it once in a while, but I'll try to go organic.  I know that I need to stay away from red meat at least while going through treatment.  We'll see what life holds in the days to come.

Praising God for a better understanding of what it means to fully rely on Him!

Hey friend, boy can I relate to the diet thing. I found out three years ago that I was allergic to sugar, flour, red meat and dairy--as in deathly allergic. I go into shock sometimes. It makes things a bit difficult sometimes. One thing I did find that works is the book called 'Eat Right for your Blood Type'. If I stick to that, I seem to be fine. Another thing you can try--and I know it sounds hokey but there is an explanation--is to put a particular food in one hand and get someone to press down firmly on your opposite, outstretched arm. I guess your body senses the chemical makeup of the food and if you are allergic, you become weak. There's nothing mystical or magical about it since your skin absorbs 1/3 of everything you take in. It really works and has saved me alot of grief. I hope that helps you some.

Life is interesting isn't it. All the trials God gives us strengthens us into better people. I know this is my case. facing what you are is hard but I hear a great strength in you and your faith in God is good so you are trusting in his will. With God and all your friends and family you will be helped along the way. I will pray for your positive recovery.
