Christmas time is here!

Christmas is almost here!!!! *yay!* I love this time of the year... I love buying presents for people, getting teased by Dad on Christmas morning... and visiting my best friend on Christmas Eve!

We finished all of our Christmas cards today... we stamped, colored, glued, wrote, licked and stuck until our fingers hurt, but it was worth it! I love sending cards. :-) I was working with a red and green colored pencil.. but each had worn down so small that there was only 2 inches of each pencil! It's very hard to color a green Christmas tree with small little green branches, with a two inch pencil. :-D

I've decided to wrap all my presents in brown paper, tied up with string. :-D Yes, just like the line in the Sound Of Music. I love how old fashioned it is! I love anything old fashioned. :-)

Does anyone have smilie suggestions? I CANNOT seem to get REAL smilies on here... *sigh* And I MUST have smilies. Without them, my blog just isn't "me!"

I have less than one month until I'm allowed to drive on my own! HOORAY! On January 5th, I'll be "official" and able to go to the gorcery store for Mom. Although my sister still probably won't say I'm official. *grin*

Well, I'm quite tired... so I think I'll get ready for bed. :-) G'night!

Hello again!

Posted in Everyday Life

It's been quite a while since I've been on this blog!!! *whoops* I'm going to try to keep it up to date... but I don't want to waste too much time on the computer, like I'm quite famous for! So I may copy and paste from my other blog to save time. :-)

I've wanted to be able to keep up both of my blogs, because my xanga is great for connecting with friends my own age, and there are SO MANY Titus 2 women on blogger, that I'd like to "be around" as many as I can! :-D I constantly sit behind my Mom as she reads me another amazing post one of her friends has written! :-)

So anyway, I haven't much to write about now... but I will be updating soon! I promise! :-) Ciao!

Uses for Garlic

I've decided to write little tidbits of information that I'm learning in my Botany course. I've LOVED researching the uses for different herbs. My first "tidbit" will be on Garlic.

Garlic is basically a type of antibiotic. It is amazing at how much this plant will heal! When taken internally, it will help your heart (prevents heart attack), helps prevent hardening of the arteries, bronchitis, possibly ulcers, and fights all sorts of infections, including virul infections that regular antibiotics can't touch! Basically, you can't go wrong by eating/taking garlic.

When applied topically, (garlic oil, fresh slices of garlic) it may help bug bites, shrink warts (tape slices on for several nights in a row), control athlete's foot, swimmer's ear, and fungal infections!

You can eat garlic in your food or take it in a coated capsule to reduce the odor. When treating a specific disease, take a capsule. It's more concentrated.

Busy Day!!!!

Posted in Everyday Life

What a busy day! Jo left for her college class as usual, and then Mom and I proceeded to get ready for the day. I ran out and fed/watered the goats and chickens, and then came inside and Mom and I talked for a while. The morning was the same as usual, me doing dished, Mom doing laundry, and then we both got showers, etc... Then the phone started ringing. Nana Mel stopped by. Finally, when all seemed quiet, Mom and I sat down on the couch and looked at each other. "Now what should we do?" we asked. Wrong question.

Just at that precise moment, the phone rang again. It was Jo, saying she was feeling really wierd, and she was really shaky. She said we shouldn't go get her, she would see if she was feeling better in a couple minutes. We knew we wouldn't let her drive home feeling bad, so we drove over to Nana Mel's (we needed her to go with us, so we could drive both cars home). After a little while, Jo called and said she had cancelled her note-taking, and asked us to pick her up. So, we drove to the college, picked her up, and drove back home!

She's feeling a bit better now... we're not quite sure why she's not feeling good, but it's probably stress from college, etc. There's never a dull moment at the Frey house! :-)

I'm feeling quite"Becky-Home-Ec-y-ish" lately. (Is that even a word? :-D) I've been looking through all sorts of good magazines, and looking at all sorts of old-fashioned gadgets that I would like to have/use. Things like a hand-washing machine. I've always wanted one. :-) (Of course, I would like the one with the clothes ringer) There's a gorgeous woodstove/cookstove in Lehman's catalog that I LOOOVE!!!!! :-) There's Mrs. Stewart's Bluing, too. :-D

Well, there's a storm brewing in the sky, which means the computer must be closed down. :-D And a bunch of dished are waiting on the sink. :-) G'bye!

Lovely Day!

Posted in Everyday Life

It's been a fantastic day today. :-) I've talked with a couple friends on IM, and listened to Il Divo with Jordan. :-D I love those occasional "lazy days," don't you?

Jordan is making up new words... making up new words is great fun. :-) "Expounditions, " "Exponderations" "Ponder-ful" and "Fantastical." *grins*

I watched Josh Groban Live at the Greek two days in a row... On Friday night, Dad asked if we could watch it, and then I decided to watch it again on Saturday. I get so inspired, and just want to run and play the piano, but at the same time I want to stay and finish watching the concert! Josh Groban has an amazing voice, and fantastic music. :-)

We heard from "Lifetime Books and Gifts" yesterday... they have the 18th (or was it 19th?) Century Herbal kit we ordered!!!! *yay* I'm looking forward to doing an in-depth study of herbs used during the olden days. I love reading the nursing book I have that was written in the 1830's. It's so neat to read the names they called certain sicknesses... names like "Dropsy in the Head," and "Dispepsia." :-D Sometimes it's hard to figure out what the illness is known as in today's time... that's when "Noah Webster's 1828" helps! Because it's from the early 1800's, for Noah Webster, that is what the illnesses were called, but he breaks them down, and tells about the illness in the dictionary, so that I'm able to figure out what it would be. It's so neat!

Well, I suppose that's all for now... Bye!

About me :-)

Posted in Everyday Life

Well, here's my first post on blogger! *yay* I'm Kim Frey's youngest daughter, just so y'all know. :-) I just turned 16, and I'm in my last year of high school. I wanted to be able to read all the blogs my Mom reads, because they are so good!

I'm doing lots of credits this year in school. I'm doing an entire timeline of History, starting from Creation, and going up until, well, until Now! :-D I plan on using it for a resource when I homeschool my own kids. Along with history, I'm reading several books, fiction and non, to get a Literature credit. I LOVE reading! :-D I'm also doing Stewardship Math by Math-U-See. I love their curriculum! For English (which I must admit, isn't my favorite subject) I'm doing a year of journaling. Out of all the different types of writing, I enjoy journaling the most.

For my 16th birthday, my Mom and Dad helped me buy a Baby Taylor guitar... I'm having so much fun learning to play it! I love music! I love to listen to it, play it, and sing it! :-D I especially enjoy listening to Josh Groban, Il Divo, Alsion Krauss, and Nickel Creek. (There are many others I like to listen to, but those are my favorites for the moment. :-D)

Well, that's about all for now... I have to go figure out blogger! :-) Ciao!
