Movie review on Prince Caspian

Posted in Reviews

In an earlier reveiw I talked about the book Prince Caspian, now, I am going to talk about the movie.

It starts  out when Miraz's baby is born and when that happens the Professor swiftly goes to the Prince's room and wakes him up, going through the side door, they get out of the room, Prince Caspian watches as Miraz's men surround the bed and shoot the bed in which they think Prince Caspian is in.

Prince Caspian Flees

The Professor

The Professor

Prince Caspian gets on his horse and receives Susan's horn as a gift from the Professor. He rides off closely pursued. As he dashes into the forest, the pursuers hesitate and then ride into the wood after him. They come out of the wood to a clearing and in to a big river. When he is almost to the other side the telmarines plunge in to the river. Prince Caspian, on dry land again, flees into the forest on the other side the pusuers do the same but Caspian is ahead. After some time he looks behind him and smiles but he isn't paying attention to what is in front of him, and gets knocked off his horse. Two dwarfs appear from the door in the side of a bank and approach him but they see the pursuers, one goes to meet the pursuers and the other sees to Caspian, who is laying on the ground when the dwarf gets nearer. Prince Caspian blows on his horn which is supposed to bring you help when you need it, The scene ends there and the rest of the movie is even better. Book Review On Prince Caspian

Posted in Reviews

Prince Caspian is my favorite book in the C.S. Lewis Series.  It’s about how the Pevensies, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, come back into Narnia and land in the ruins of Cair Paravel.  They don’t recognize it because it is in ruins but later they find out where they are.  The next morning, they find a dwarf who was going to be thrown into the sea by some of a lord’s men. Miraz is Caspian’s uncle, but Caspian believes in the old Narnia. Miraz tries to stop his beliefs in the old Narnia by taking his nurse away and hiring a tutor to teach him. However, the tutor is actually half dwarf. His tutor helps him escape and the tutor manages to escape also.  The dwarf (whose real name is Trumpkin, but they nickname him ‘DLF’ in other words, Dear Little Friend) tells them all that I’ve been telling you but in more detail. The next morning they have contests to make DLF believe that they really are the legendary High King Peter, Queen Susan, King Edmund, and Queen Lucy.  Then they get into the boat of the Telmarines they had frightened away, and start to row up the river. They get off the boat and start to walk up the side of the river(which eventually turns into a gorge).  As they walk past a hill, Lucy sees a glimpse of Aslan, but the others don’t believe her. Right then, Peter, who had been talking with DLF, decides that they should go down into the gorge. So they vote. DLF says that he will go wherever the High King went; Peter and Susan vote to go down; but Edmund and Lucy want to go up the hill.  Since it is two against three they go down into the gorge. They find a river there so they do not get thirsty. When they reach to a forest, they stop for the night and sleep on the ground.

Here’s a little quote from the book, from the chapter titled 'The High King in Command': "Your Majesty please.” Peter turned and there stood the eldest of the Bulgy Bears “If you please, your Majesty,” he said, “I’m a bear, I am.”  “To be sure, so you are, and a good bear too, I don’t doubt,” said Peter.  “Yes,” said the Bear. “But it was always a right of the bears to supply one marshal of the lists.”  “Don’t let him,” whispered Trumpkin to Peter.  “He’s a good creature, but he’ll shame us all.  He’ll go to sleep and he will suck his paws. In front of the enemy too.”“ I can’t help that,” said Peter.  “Because he’s quite right.  The Bears had that privilege.  I can’t imagine how it has been remembered all these years, when so many other things have been forgotten.”  “Please, your Majesty,” said the Bear.  “It is your right,” said Peter.  “And you shall be one of the marshals.  But you must remember not to suck your paws.”   “Of course not,” said the Bear in a very shocked voice.  “Why, you’re doing it this minute!”  Bellowed Trumpkin.

Here’s my favorite quote because Peter showed his loyalty to Caspian: "Your majesty is very welcome,” said Caspian. "And so is your majesty" said Peter, "I haven't come to take your place, you know, but to put you in it.''

As for the rest, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, you can read it in the book, if you have it. If you don’t, buy it, for I highly recommend it!

Here's a  Narnia map, thats actually right here, in my, house:
