2009-Mar-22 - Ultimate Blog Party~continues HERE!! Come on in, Kick your shoes off and set a spell!
I just lost
my initial post this morning after some careful and creative blogging! IRRRRR! OK! (wiping face, straightening hair, smoothing clothing...huhhmmm...)
THANKS!
I feel better now~how are you this morning?
1. I am a deep south southerner. (CAN YA'LL tell? LOL!)Where was I? Oh yes. . .
Our kids are teenagers~YIKES and we've homeschooled since they were littles. Our Dad who is a Pastor teaches them too so I am not the only teacher they have now that they are in high school. Initially I did do all the lessons for years, but as they've matured the influence of their father is very positive relieving me of all the burden as well. He teaches them science and music. I guess the best benefit is that I get to sleep in each morning while they work! We sorta do shifts this way! My children have several hobbies, and like their parents love cyberspace! Visit our daughter's blog, Dictionary Addict~her widget is on the left side bar. . .she's fourteen! Our son is a big gammer!
As a Pastor's family we are pretty involved in our church, but while we love our church family, it's the Lord Jesus Christ who we follow! Our service in our church is an expression of our devotion, but not necessarily all that we do or want to do in our Christian walk with God.
We are excited about AWANA! Almost every church we've served has begun AWANA and found it to be a wonderful ministry for children and adults alike. Bible memory is a key component and fun! There are two goals of AWANA: 1. To reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ. 2. To train them (the children) to serve Him. We SAY there is a 3rd~our AWANA family~TO HAVE FUN! And we do! Loads in club each week!
I want to share some random facts about ME that may not be evident on my blogs or little knowns. . .
2. I love old buildings and history.
3. One of my neatest homes to have lived in is 100 this year! Gorgeous!
4. I learn right along with the kids~HUGE benefit of home education!
5. My favorite food is ICE CREAM~no matter the season!
6. We have a dog, well, a pretty big ole dog who is HUGE! Melody!
7. The cat, Tiger TRIES to rule our home! Nope not yet! We DO love him...
8. I "flunked" Bible college when 18. I was too immature~too homesick!
9. IN my BC (before children) days I worked. I am an LPN.
10. Classic traditional with antique leanings is my decorating style.
11. I hate to cook, but LOVE to eat! and WANT to be delivered from
the kitchen. Recipes often do nothing for me! You are likely NOT to
find them here! (I did share one with a new blog friend though. . .
It's the classic baked southern style mac and cheese I am famous for!

12. I'd rather be blogging or researching or crafting or ANYTHING
except in the kitchen~it's just a necessary evil to survival is how I see it!
13. I love making handmade jewelery, and one day I hope to learn to learn to
make hand blown glass beads! I want to learn to do stain glass too!
14. I love photography, design and layout. You will see more of my design eye
on my newest blog venture! Go over and check Lady Graceful!
15. I don't watch TV and often I fall asleep to movies!
16. I'm most comfortable in jeans and a tee! I like mules and sandals too!
Well now we're a bit better acquainted!
I look forward to stopping by and getting to know you too.
Leave me a comment and your blogg addy
so I can visit you VERY SOON!
BTW~I am interested in frugal living~
it's my challenge to do life on less!
Don't forget to leave me your remarks and there are two areas I think you will enjoy most on my bloggy home. Go visit my PROFILE in the About Me...I tell a funny TRUE story~and then head on to read about my daughter The Gator in KYin which is another true tale!
Enjoy the Party!
I am blog hopping and really enjoying myself too!
SEE YA!
Come on back now, ya hear?

SisterTipster

I love reading your intro. Your family sounds like a lot of fun! I hate to cook too and also love old buildings and history. My "perfect house dream" is a huge English mansion with wings that haven't been entered for decades, hallways that have been closed off, hidden doors, and some secret passages too! I'd love to spend my whole life exploring a place like that. Of course, once I uncovered all the secrets, it wouldn't be interesting anymore. Lol. Have a great week!

Thanks for coming by and visiting me. I hope you skipped around a little on my page, because I totally had the "wrong" link up at the UBP - a very old posting... quite sad!
I love to find homeschoolers who are sticking with it through highschool. I was always glad I did. Please, come back and see me again, at the "proper" link! http://proverbs2six.blogspot.com/2009/03/shameless-self-promotion.html
