2009-Mar-24 - God's Timing is Perfect...He HOLDS the clock!
I am an inpatient person. I want it now! I want it when I want it and how I want it! Don't you dare tell me NO and definitely not when I really WANT something~have you ever seen an adult throw a huge temper tantrum? Oh...we adults do this all the time! We can get in a huge huff and puff saying all kinds of ill mannered things to one another in the name of getting our way!
I don't hit the ground anymore like I once did when little. I HOPE you don't either, but my spirit can really throw down! Watch littles sometime. . .ever want to SEE MAD? Little kids can SHOW it by every fiber in their beings, and we adults can too. Maybe just a bit more subtle, but we show it none the less. Our attitudes, our message is clear~I AIN'T Happy! (I know it's substandard English! I use it for effect here! ;-)
I was thinking about God's timing tonight. He holds the clock, in fact, He made the clock~all of time. . .so WHO am I to mess with HIS schedule even if it does effect me?
Sometimes I want or think or feel just what I want to want, think or feel despite KNOWING in my head that God has to do HIS part. . .and I frustrate myself with this knowledge when I could trust Him to do it His way~IN HIS TIME!
I used to have a poem called
Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."

If I hang on, will it all ever be fixed. . . and doesn't the Master need the freedom to work without my looming over His shoulder as He works anxiously waiting? Can I just in simple faith trust Him to take care of it all? Hmmm...What a thought! To LET HIM BE~in a childlike faith to accomplish His good pleasure in my life.
And you know, I may never be rich, or beautiful, or live in a HGTV house, but I can trust or rather be developing trust in my Lord as ONE who is RIGHT on TIME and AVAILABLE for every occasion and circumstance!
I can trust the God of creation to do. . . for me~
Thank you Lord, for holding the clock, keeping the time, taking care~even when I don't understand.
The song writer said, "By and by we'll know all about it!" In Your season Lord, I will know and see Your hands in my life.
Thank you!
Amen.
