2009-Jun-8 - Home is Where the Heart Is!

I wish I lived an HGTV life.  This was once my favorite channel as I watched and "learned" all about home decor~ha!! Now where are all the little people and their fingerprints or smudge marks from all the fun? What about the doggie foot prints, or hey, the littles remains...I once heard about the kid putting the peanut butter and jelly sandwich into the vcr! This is not ideallic for sure as the HGTV standard! But it's the life of real moms and kids getting along in this world; pets snuggling as family members and all sorts of fun!

I once had some of my dream.  I grew up in a historic city, so I really love old things.  I am not into new stuff generally either, so when I go house hunting, it's the older home that has an appeal for me.  They generally are built more solid, and with a quality and charm that are not in modern construction even if the style is duplicated.

This past year, my husband was relocated in his ministry, really our ministry as a family to another state about six hours from our home.  Houses do not make homes, but I will tell you that the size and layout as well as other features made life rather sweet in that house.  We are still trying to sell it.  I don't know if you've taken the time to read about our home HERE but I began a blog sometime back to share as many details as possible so that others who might enjoy the home would learn of it, and so that we might find the buyer God intends.  Now I do have to say that no older home is perfect.  We have tried so hard to redo our home with a historic feel so that it would retain its historic appeal.

I have offered a contest HERE to help spread the word about our home.  Many have read about it, and if this is you, thank you.  Only a few have joined the contest.  Either way, I do appreciate your prayers and your helping to spread the word about our home.

No, I never got my HGTV home, even with the beauty of the Victorian one, but one thing is certain...Home is where my heart is. . .

H O M E~such comfort in those words.

Thank you again for your prayers and checking out our home~join the contest to win  HERE!
