In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features save for the one wall covered with small index-card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endlessly in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read “Girls I Have Liked.” I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was. This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn’t match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching. A file named “Friends” was next to one marked “Friends I Have Betrayed.” The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird. “Books I Have Read,” “Lies I Have Told,” “Comfort I Have Given,” “Jokes I Have Laughed At.” Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: “Things I’ve Yelled at My Brothers.” Others I couldn’t laugh at: “Things I Have Done in My Anger,” “Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.” I never ceased to be surprised by the contents. Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my 20 years to write each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature. When I pulled out the file marked “Songs I Have Listened To,” I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn’t found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of music, but more by the vast amount of time I knew that file represented. When I came to a file marked “Lustful Thoughts,” I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: “No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!” In an insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn’t matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh. And then I saw it. The title bore “People I Have Shared the Gospel With.” The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand. And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him. No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn’t bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own. He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn’t anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn’t say a word. He just cried with me. Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. “No!” I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was “No, no,” as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn’t be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don’t think I’ll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side. He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, “It is finished.” I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Awards ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Award Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Blogger Reflection Award

Matthew 6:9-16:

9In this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

10Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.

11Give us this day our daily bread.

12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory for ever. Amen.

14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Hey!

*Deep sigh* Well, we're staying home from ballet cuz  Jen's not feeling well. So my day's gonna be pretty boring. (note all the periods at the end of my sentences) I'll probably end up stacking wood running laundry and doing anything else that needs to get done.

Bye4Now & God Bless,

Katie

Ephesians 1:17-19:

17I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,

Hello!

Hey there!
Here's what I've been doing.......
July 25th: All I really did was watch movies & go swimming.
26th: I got to see The Wizard of OZ the play.
27th: We went to the beach. We  had so much fun!!!!!!! I buried Jen in the sand, Boogie Boarded, and even made a small sand castle!
28th: We got to go to Catalina Island. It was so beautiful! We took a boat ride there and back. At first I was nervous about being on the open sea. I finally found the hat I've been looking for all summer. It is a BIG floppy  hat with a blue scarf tied around it. I also got a key chain in the shape of a boat with a little dolphin.
Speaking of dolphins we saw an entire family while we were on the boat. I also saw a whale!!!!
29th: we didn't do too terribly much. Mike went to an arcade/ mini golf place. While Jen & I went swimming.
Another thing we did the 29th was we experienced an enormas earthquake! It was so scary!
30th: We went  to the Hunington Library for tea. It was so gorgeous!
And today we're going to Crazy Caleb's house to go swimming! I just hope I don't get a sunburn again like last time.

Bye4Now & God Bless,
Katie

We're going back to Nana's house later today so I'll once again be away from a computer.

Hi!

Hey there!
Let's see. I'm still in California but I'll be home on the 3rd of August. Here's what I've been doing since I last wrote.
On the 6th of July I was back at my Nana's house. My little cousins came over  and we all went to Splash. A water park in La Mirada. We had so much fun! The park had this river that went in an almost circle they had HUGE innertubes that you get to sit in or on and float through the river. My little cousins didn't like the parts where there were water arches that you could go under cuz they didn't like getting their heads wet.

Then on the 7th we went to see "Kit Kittridge: An American Girl" and "Wall.E". Wall.E was cute but pretty babyish. But I really enjoyed Kit.

On the 10th Nana & I went to the theater where she vollenteers so that we could set up for the next day (opening night). We gave a very nice lady a ride to the theater but when it was time to leave we forgot her!!!!!!
After we drove back to the theater to pick her up we headed back to Nana's house. From there we picked up Papa, Mike, & Jen. Then we all went to Santa Monica. Where we went to our fave resteraunt, Wolfgang Puck's. After dinner we went down to the pier where we walked all the way down to the end  then back up to the ferris wheel. We rode on the ferris wheel. I had forgotten how terrified I am of  hieghts till I got on.

For the 11th we got to go back to the theater and saw  the Wizard of OZ. It was a spectacular presentation.

Then the 12th we three kids went to Uncle Kevin's house and played with Ryan (4) and Sean (2) our energetic little cousins.

13th I went to Becca's house (please keep leaving her comments)

14th Spent the day  with  the Energizer bunnies (Ryan & Sean).

16th went to an AWESOME outdoor mall called Victoria Gardens.

On the 19th we went to disney land!!!!!!! And I got EARS!!!!! ever since I was a little girl I wanted some Minnie Mouse ears and I finally got some! I also got a bracelet, a light chaser, and a crystel tinkerbell.

on the 22 Nana had to go to the CA gift show for the theater so Papa took me, Mike, & Jen to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth". It was really  good.

And Now I'm back at Aunty's house till tomorrow when we shall go back to Nana's house.

Well, Bye4Now & God Bless,
Katie

My Best Friend Becca!!!!!!

Well I went to Rebecca's house yesterday!  She has always been one of my closest friends we've known each other since the first or second grade!  But anyway before I forget I WANT YOU to go to her blog and leave her Lot's of comments!

http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/becca1028/

Let's see...... I went to her house around 1 yesterday afternoon first we talked then we went to her room and threw  her blue ball back and forth while we talked then we  played Guitar  Hero (and  found out that I'm a guitar ZERO!!) then we played a dance video game where you stand on a mat and step to the left, right, front, and back when tells you to. It reminded me of a bop-it except with your feet. Then we went swimming. I had to wear a T-shirt cuz of my sunburn. We got one of her Portuguese Water dogs to swim with us. We had so much fun tossing a splash ball into the pool and making him jump in!  After swimming  we went back to her room and set up her blog on here  and watched Tim Hawkins  (a christian comedian) on her computer.
Then my brother called and said that my uncle wanted me to come home so we map quested how to get there from Becca's  house and voila!

Well, Bye4Now & God Bless,
Katie!

Hey there!
Well, I'm in  California!!! I'm having a great time!

Let's see so far I have gone to Corona, La Mirada, Brea Mall, some really cool stores, a country club!, Norco (my old home town)  the mountains, Lake Arrowhead, and now I'm back in Corona.

This is so cool! And we havn't even done half of the stuff we are going to!

Sometime this week I'm going to get together with one of my best friends whom I haven't seen in 5 years!!!!!!

I was swimming  a lot while I was in La MiradaI even got a sunburn (although I get those in OR too). I still haven't been to the beach but we will do that soon.

The only downside is that my mom and dad aren't here.
My dad came down for the anniversary party then he was the one who took us to the mountains but he had to leave yesterday and go back to OR .
I miss my mom & dad terribly.
Since this is the longest I've been away  from them since we moved. And even then my mom was just a short drive away, but now if something happens there's nothing she can do as she is 13 hours away!

I'll try to get online tomorrow and tell you what we did today!

Well, I'm gunna sign off.

Bye4Now & God Bless,
Katie

Hi guys! Sorry I know it's been awhile!

Hey There!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to California for a few weeks so I probably will not be writing for about three weeks. Unless my aunt and uncle let me use their Comp.

You see my grandparents are having a HUGE 50th Anniversary party so my aunt and uncle have offered to come get me, Mike, & Jen. Then My dad will ride the bus down on the night before the party. My mom has to stay here as one of our horses is going to have a foal very soon and she does not feel she can trust anyone else to take care of them. I really wish she were coming. I'm going to miss her so much. see this is going to be the longest period of time that I have been away from her since we moved. And even then I knew she could come and get me if I needed her since it was only an hours drive to my Nana and Papa's house but now she will be 13 hours away!

Well, I'll talk to you all soon.

Bye4Now & God Bless,

Katie
