Today's Gift from the Garden

If I'd known all these sweet things were waiting for me in the garden today, I'd have made shortcake.

At least yours make it to the kitchen. We picked almost that many today...I have nothing to show for it though. Just the door slamming and a shout..."I'm going to check the berries" and then the berries are gone....

we will all miss strawberries for the next two years ... none in the lowlands.
maybe mangos will suffice.
it is debatable as to whether or not avacados are available.
I try not to think of it.
I can take solice in knowing that in another two months we can pick and gorge on berries here.
we haven't hit shorts weather here yet and can't plant stuff until the long May weekend (May two four) BUT I happily noticed that all major stores are stocking LONG cut offs.
sheesh. how can we be so terribly behind the times?
