On Friday we had a Keepers meeting. Mama and I went early and hid Easter eggs all over the park, (Although at the end it wasn't really hiding, per say.... more like... tossing.... if you throw a plastic Easter egg farther away and kind of roll it, it won't break open. lol), and then all the kids had a hunt for the eggs. When we were getting ready to leave, it started to get really stormy outside. We ended up going to our friends' house and waiting in their basement for a bit. We didn't have any damage, thankfully, but a tree fell on the corner of a house nearby, and a water main was broken open. It hailed, and poured for a few minutes... and then it was gone, and the sun came out. Tennessee has weird weather, in my opinion!
Afterwards, I went to a friend's house to spend the night. That was fun. :)
On Sunday, we did all over our Easter traditions. Mama made a turkey, which was delicious! We hid and re-hid Easter eggs three times, because the girls wanted to re-hunt them, and then they wanted to hide them and make Thomas and I hunt. We did the Resurrection Eggs, which are awesome.
***Spoiler*** Daddy, Thomas, and I watched The Dark Knight last night. I love Batman Begins, but.... I liked The Dark Knight for the action, and the plot was surprising.... but I thought the Joker was really creepy, and... I don't know. Rachel dying was SO not called for! She can't die?! What were they thinking? How can she and Bruce live happily ever after if she's dead?! Forgive me, but I'm a romantic and I like happy endings! The actual ending, with them chasing Bruce was okay. It just kind of cut off, and left me hanging. Suffice to say, I liked the first one much better. At least Rachel was still a possibility for Bruce. :) ***Spoiler over*** I watched Australia on the portable DVD player in my room after bed. That, I liked! :)
My iPod is being stupid, and won't connect to the computer anymore. I want to just get a new one, but even a refurbished one is expensive. It's sucky.
I'm sorry if this sounds all jumbled up. That's just the way my brain is working right now, so I can't say anything witty or cute or fabulous. :)
Hola, (I like saying that more than just "Hi", or "Hey", or whatever)
So my birthday party was awesome! Lots of fun. :-) Mama made April Fool's Day food - meatloaf "cupcakes" with mashed potatoes icing, very convincing; "taco salads" which were really waffle bowls with chocolate ice cream rolled in nuts, topped with green and yellow coconut for lettuce and cheese, Cool Whip for sour cream, and maraschino cherries for tomatoes. We also had "fries" with "ketchup" - sliced, toated pound cake with seedless strawberry jam; "fish sticks" which were deep-fried pineapple, DELICIOUS! Actually, everything was really, really good! For "drinks", I made Jell-o in clear glasses and let it set with a straw stuck in each glass.
It was great to see Anna again, since I don't get to hang out with her very often. And, of course, seeing Laura, Becky, and Cami was great! Becky and Cami stayed afterwards, and ate dinner with us, then Mama and I took them each home. Becky loaned me 6 movies: 27 Dresses, which I watched last night and LOVED; The Dark Knight, which I haven't seen yet, although I really like the first one; Bandidas, and I have no clue what it's about; Paul Blart: Mall Cop, because we all wanted to se that one; A Knight's Tale, because I've only seen 20 minutes of it, and I sort of like Heath Ledger when he's in a normal role; and Australia, because Becky and Cami both told me I needed to see it. So yeah. :) It was a very good day!
Yesterday we went to a birthday party for one of my sisters' friends. Thomas' friends were there too, and, of course, they had an airsoft war. What is it with boys and shooting each other?! It would be like me walking up one of my friends and going, "Hey, I like you, so I'm gonna shoot you, okay?" LOL Everyone had a really good time tjough, which is all that matters! :)
It rained really hard last night. The weather station said we might get tornadoes but, thank God!, we didn't. I hate tornadoes. They always happen at night it seems, and it's creepy to think that in just a few minutes, you could lose your house, stuff, animals, cars, everything. At least in Florida we had some warning when hrricanes were coming. Here, there's no warning at all!
I am now a partial blonde. After fifteen minutes, Mama said maybe I should wash out the highlights. I waited about 15-20 minutes more. Now, most of my hair is completely blonde. I like it, but it's taking some getting used to. I think next time, I'll just leave them on for 15 minutes, like Mama suggested. :D
Tomorrow my Granny, Aunt Penny, and cousin Sushi get here! I'm excited about seeing them again! Should be lots of fun. Sushi is going to be bunking with me, like usual, and Granny and Aunt Penny will stay in the Airstream.
So, at least on my computer, there are no spaces between paragraphs in my last post. And that's bugging me. I just had to come explain that it doesn't look like that by my choice. :)
Hey!
I'm using the laptop, and my brother's dog, Ernie, just jumped into my lap. Demanding little thing. The problem is that he never completely relaxes; he's always a little tense. Even when he's sleeping. So having him in your lap isn't always very comfortable. Mama's dog, Penny, on the other hand, just kind of lays over you, and doesn't have a tense bone... er... muscle in her body. :)
Tomorrow is my birthday party. I turned 16 last week, and April 1st worked for my friends to come over. There are certain.... advantages to having a party on April Fool's Day. LOL
Yesterday we went to town. I bought a highlighting kit, and Mama is going to put them in for me tonight. I love dying my hair. Not weird colors, like red or blue or green, (Although that temporary blue and red hair dye *was* fun to play with!), but pretty colors like red, bronze, and blonde. My natural hair color is like dirt. Not interesting at all. So I have plenty of wiggle room when it comes to highlights and such.
We all went to the mall on Sunday. I *love* shopping. Technically, I love shopping when I have money. Window-shopping is no fun at all. I had birthday money to spend, so I was happy! LOL I got two shirts at Target; a belt and this amazing, turquoise cocktail ring at For Love; some coral Essie nail polish at a beauty store; and two shirts at Aeropostale. One is pink, with a bird and hibiscus flowers on it, and the other is green, with angel wings on the back. I spent too much money on them, I know.... but I really liked them. :) Daddy told me that they should pay me $25 dollars for wearing their shirts, but I disagree. LOL After that we went out to Red Lobster, which everyone loved except my sister Nanny. She doesn't like shrimp, and she's not big on fish. How a child who was born in Florida and lived on the coast doesn't like shrimp is beyond me. She calls them water bugs. :)
Enough about shopping and the stuff I bought... nobody cares about that, I'm sure! LOL
My grandparents, aunt, and uncle came for a visit, and were here for my birthday. That was nice! And my Granny, aunt, and cousin are getting here on Saturday. It's been over a year since I've seen my aunt, and closer to two years since I've seen my cousin. It'll be nice to see them all again!
I think that's good enough for a new post. Actually, I'm proud of myself, because for probably the past year, year and a half, my blog posts have been maybe one paragraph long. It was lame.
Hugs,
Rebecca
