A Stroke of Magic
By Shelby Evans
We watched a 20 min. movie about the primary colors. The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. We learned about secondary colors which are orange, violet (purple), and green. They are made with using two primary colors… red and yellow make orange, red and blue make purple, and yellow and blue make green. Then we learned about the color wheel and complementary colors. The complementary colors are the two colors straight across the wheel from one another. Red and green, yellow and purple, and blue and orange. We also learned warm colors are yellow, red, orange while cool colors are green, blue, and purple. Then we created and painted fruit bowls. There were many different styles that we each used. I chose to put my fruit in a yellow bowl, and used a purple banana with red in it. I have an orange with a stem because we had just picked it from the tree. I also added a watermelon and a pineapple and a touch of grapes. I created a side dish with some grapes in it. My background was blue with hints of green. I also added my name to the top of the page in blue highlighted with green to let it stand out…. In the corner I added a salt shaker because some people enjoy sprinkling salt on their fruit, but not me! I had fun and can’t wait to go back real soon.
