The Unique Life Of Me

July 22, 2008 - Presidential Canidates

Hey Everyone,

Most of you know that the reason I haven't written any entry in awhile is because I have been at horse camp. Finally I have a decent excuse. I have been gone at horse camp for 4 days I just got back the day before yesterday. I had a pretty fun time! My horse Star did wonderful!

In this post I was only going to write about Horse camp, but I have had a very strong urge to do a LOT of research on the presidential candidates. For the last 2 hours I have been researching different things about them. I have found tons of things. Most of the information I got off on Barack Obama I got off his website and most of the information on John McCain I got off of his website.  I think I will start off with Barack first.

Most of the information I will be writing about I got off of Obama's website so I if you would like to read some more things about him you can go to his official website, here is the link-
http://www.barackobama.com/index.php
Some of the things that I will be writting about him are in my own words and some of it I got off of his site. The information that is italicized is in my own words. The information that is not italicized is from Barack Obama's site. All of the information that I am writing about is true.

One thing that I always find interesting when I am doing research on a presidential candidate is there previous voting records. If you would like to view U.S senator Barack Obama of Illinois voting record you can go to this site- http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=9490

I am going to start off with Barack's views on abortion. He didn't have barely anything on his site about abortion so the things that I do know are from things that I have read on different sites.

Obama believes that a woman should have the right to abort her baby if she would like. He believes that the baby can be aborted even in the 9th month of the pregnancy.

My views on abortion are:

To me I think abortion is a very sick thing to do. It doesn’t matter if it was in accident, if you were raped or anything else that baby didn’t do anything. He/She was innocent it didn’t do a thing it was the result of a wrong decision or a wrong doing and because of that the mother is going to abort it. Kill the baby so her life will go back to normal and she won’t have to worry about be inconvenienced. But what most mothers that abort their baby don’t know is that that pain from killing your own child will never go away. It will always be there. You will always be thinking what if, what if I kept her or him, what if it wasn’t going to be “that” bad, they sad thing is they will never know because at that time they made the worst decision of there life time.

Next I will be writing about Obama's views on the war in Iraq:

In 2002, as the conventional thinking in Washington lined up with President Bush for war, Instead of Obama supporting President Bush he choice spoke out against going to war, and to warn of He is fully committed to ending the war in Iraq as president.

On July 14, 2008 Obama had an article in the New York Times about his views on the war.(Keep in mind that the New York Times is a very liberal magazine and they would say anything to make Obama look really good and McCain look bad.) :

“The differences on Iraq in this campaign are deep. Unlike Senator John McCain, I opposed the war in Iraq before it began, and would end it as president. I believed it was a grave mistake to allow ourselves to be distracted from the fight against Al Qaeda and the Taliban by invading a country that posed no imminent threat and had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. Since then, more than 4,000 Americans( That amount of Americans is not accurate at all, it is more like 2,000) have died and we have spent nearly $1 trillion. Our military is overstretched. Nearly every threat we face — from Afghanistan to Al Qaeda to Iran — has grown.

Only by redeploying our troops can we press the Iraqis to reach comprehensive political accommodation and achieve a successful transition to Iraqis’ taking responsibility for the security and stability of their country. Instead of seizing the moment and encouraging Iraqis to step up, the Bush administration and Senator McCain are refusing to embrace this transition — despite their previous commitments to respect the will of Iraq’s sovereign government. They call any timetable for the removal of American troops “surrender,” even though we would be turning Iraq over to a sovereign Iraqi government.  (Technically since we are still fighting in Iraq and we are still trying to find the remainder of the terrorists, bringing our troops back home would be surrendering, because we would be like running away from unfinished war.)

And now I am going to talk about John McCain. Most of the information about his was gathered from his official website. If you would like to go read some more things about him here is the link--   http://www.johnmccain.com

If you would like to view U.S Senator John McCain of Arizonia here is his voting record you can go to this site, here is the link- http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=53270

John McCain's views on abortion

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.

However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion. Once the question is returned to the states, the fight for life will be one of courage and compassion - the courage of a pregnant mother to bring her child into the world and the compassion of civil society to meet her needs and those of her newborn baby. The pro-life movement has done tremendous work in building and reinforcing the infrastructure of civil society by strengthening faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need. This work must continue and government must find new ways to empower and strengthen these armies of compassion. These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. As John McCain has publicly noted, "At its core, abortion is a human tragedy. To effect meaningful change, we must engage the debate at a human level."

Adoption

In 1993, John McCain and his wife, Cindy, adopted a little girl from Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh. She has been a blessing to the McCain family and helped make adoption advocacy a personal issue for the Senator.

The McCain family experience is not unique; millions of families have had their lives transformed by the adoption of a child. As president, motivated by his personal experience, John McCain will seek ways to promote adoption as a first option for women struggling with a crisis pregnancy. In the past, he cosponsored legislation to prohibit discrimination against families with adopted children, to provide adoption education, and to permit tax deductions for qualified adoption expenses, as well as to remove barriers to interracial and inter-ethnic adoptions.

This is What “Needs” to be done before we bring the troops home.

John McCain believes it is essential for the United States to support the Government of Iraq to become capable of governing itself and safeguarding its people. McCain strongly disagrees with those who advocate withdrawing American troops before that has occurred.

It would be a grave mistake to leave before Al Qaeda in Iraq is defeated and before a competent, trained, and capable Iraqi security force is in place and operating effectively. We must help the Government of Iraq battle those who provoke sectarian tensions and promote a civil war that could destabilize the Middle East. Iraq must not become a failed state, a haven for terrorists, or a pawn of Iran. These likely consequences of America's failure in Iraq almost certainly would either require us to return or draw us into a wider and far costlier war.(I agree fully with this statement).

From June 2007 through March 2008, sectarian and ethnic violence in Iraq was reduced by 90 percent(WOW I never new that, I bet your never heard that on the news). Civilian deaths and deaths of coalition forces fell by 70 percent(wow according to obama and all of his liberals the death toll was more)( Of course they would say anything really to convince you that the Iraq war was a mistake, even if it was true or not) . This has opened the way for a return to something that approaches normal political and economic life for the average Iraqi. Political reconciliation is occurring across Iraq at the local and provincial grassroots level. Sunni and Shi'a chased from their homes by terrorist and sectarian violence are returning. The "Sons of Iraq" and Awakening movements, where former Sunni insurgents have now joined in the fight against Al Qaeda, continue to grow.

The best way to secure long-term peace and security is to establish a stable, prosperous, and democratic(there are many meanings for the word democratic is this form it mean independent) state in Iraq that poses no threat to its neighbors and contributes to the defeat of terrorists. When Iraqi forces can safeguard their own country, American troops can return home.

July 15, 2008 - Bale Of Ants

Hey Everyone,

My week has been very chaotic so far. Yesterday I went to Sierra's house and spent the night! I had a great time! I had to leave though around 10:30 am the next morning. I had to help my family do some more haying.

Most of the time I drove the truck while some guys that my dad hired stacked the hay on my dad's trailer.  I drove for awhile and then my other friend Sophia wanted to drive for a bit. I got the pleasure of stacking the hay on the trailer, yeah me()!  The guys started throwing the bales on the trailer for me to stack and this one bale wasn't fully dry. I said that we weren't going to be able to keep this one it is pretty damp and it will mold. I set that bail aside and then I felt something crawling on my arm, I look down at my arms and they were covered with red fire ants. I was like freaking out, I got all off of the ants off me (thank goodness), but in the process they managed to bite me in several places on my arms. They sting really bad, they are just as bad as bees. Needless to say I never stacked another bale today I did all the driving

This Thursday I will be leaving to go to horse camp!  Horse camp prepares you for fair, except horse camp is a lot more fun and not quite as warm. You bring your horse, you do crafts, camp fire cooking, you can do games on your horse, and we practice English and Western equitation. I have a lot of fun!

I would like to thank everyone who leaves me comments on my blog! Everyone is really nice on here and I love getting comments from every one of you and I try my best to respond to your comments and messages!

July 8, 2008 - Haying Buisness

Hey Everyone,

Well, my family is know in the haying buisness, yea for us!!! For those of you who have horses, cows, goats, and sheep probably know the rediculous price of hay some farmers are charging now a days. My family owns horses and cows and we have to buy around 20 ton of hay each year. We were going to have to pay around $200.00 a ton. My parents didn't want to spend that much on hay and neither did our friends. Our friends buy around 35 ton of hay each year. So we got together and bought all the haying equipment and we are haying 300 acres. So for the past three days that has been all we have been really doing. Which is nice I guess, I just love getting all sweaty, dirty, dusty, and pulling poisonous weeds from the ground so the horses and cows don't get sick, it is so much fun.

Today My mom and I took a break from haying. My mom had to go to work in town today and I went to my aunt's house! I loaded some more songs up to my ipod and while I was doing so I noticed that the number 1 best selling song on Itunes was I kissed a Girl by Katy Perry. No offense to the people who like the song, but I think that song is the worst song I have ever heard. The tune maybe catchy but the whole words and meaning of the song is just disgusting. It is talking about a girl kissing another girl and saying she liked it and she hopes her boyfriend doesn't mind it, she liked the taste of the other girls cherry chapstick. What has the world come to these days??? The song has no morals. I think it is wrong for those of us who are christians to like the song and buy it for that matter. Think of what you are supporting, you are supporting homesexuality which is wrong. If you are a christian you should know that the bible doesn't agree with homesexualality. In the Bible in Genisis Chapter 2 verse 22 it reads Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. verse 23  The man said,  " This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;  and she shall be called  woman, for she was taken out of man." verse 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be untied to his wife(woman), and they will become one flesh.

In those verses it doesn't say that a man shall leave his father and mother and marry another man or that a woman shall leave her father or mother, it says that a "man" shall leave his father and mother and be united to his "wife(woman)".  Please consider this and don't buy or support this song.

Have a great day,

~Makayla~

July 2, 2008 - ~Camping Trip~

Hey Everyone,

I got back from my camping trip a week ago and since then everything has been really chaotic, so that is why I haven't posted in forever.

The camping trip was really fun!!! We went camping with some of our friends, they brought their horses and my family brought our horses and we went on a bunch of trail rides! The only down part of the camping trip was that I got reared of my horse Little Guy. We were on this one trail and he kept on throwing his head around and not wanting to listen. He kept on darting forward and almost running into trees, and he kept on backing up, he was just being really dumb. He ended up rearing back and he ended up falling on me. Thankfully I got most of my body out, but Little Guy still ended up falling on my leg. Fortunately my leg was just really bruised and I had a bad sprain in my ankle, but other then that I was perfectly fine. My dad and I are still working on Little Guy, but I probably won't use him for fair. He is probably under a lot of stress. I have been really working with him a lot and training on different things and it has probably come to the point where he is just so overwhelmed. Hopefully I will be able to use him for fair next year. So for this year I will most likely use my other horse Star. She is 22 and she is a great horse and a LOT calmer and she is trained.

I promised you guys I would take a bunch of pictures of the camping trip and I did. So here are a few pictures of my camping trip.

Here is picture of Little Guy and Me.

I went on a trail ride with my friend Sophia, My dad, and Sophia's dad Ben. I was looking at the sky and I saw this cloud formation and it had a rainbow going threw it. I thought it was really cool!!! So If you look really closely you can see the rainbow!

I took a bunch of pictures, I would like to post all of them, but for those that I have dial up, it would take WAY to long to load all of them up. And I have dial up, so It would take me all day to load them to the entry. I will have to post more pictures on my next entry!

I have been reading this fabulous book. It is really sad, but at the same time it is happy and exciting and just an awesome book. The book is called One Tuesday Morning, It is written by Karen Kingsbury. I will tell you what it says on the back of the book.

The last thing Jake Bryan knew was the roar of the World Trade Center collapsing on top of him and his fellow firefighters. The man in the hostpital bed remembers nothing. Not rushing with his teammates up the stairway of the south tower to helped trapped victims. Not be blasted from the building. And not the woman sitting by his bedside who says she is his wife.
Jamie Bryan will do anything to help her beloved husband regain his memory, and with it their storybook family life with their small daughter, Sierra. But that means helping Jake rediscover the one thing Jamie has never shared with him: his deep faith in God.
Jakes fondest prayer for his wife is about to have an impact beyond anything he could possibly have conceived. One Tuesday Morning is a love story like none you have ever read: tender, poignant, commemorating the tragedy and heroism of September 11, 2001 and portraying the far-reaching power of God's faithfulness and a good man's love.

This is what it says on the front cover.

A devoted Fireman and a driven businessman, strangers with the same face. Only one will leave the Twin Towers alive, but will he ever find his way home?

So far I am more then half way threw the book and I can't put the book down. It is really good! So if any of you are looking for a good book to read I would totally recommend you to rent it from the library. The book is called One Tuesday Morning and the author is Karen Kingsbury.

I have one more thing to tell y'll Gratitude awarded me an award, but since this entry is so long already I will award some of you with the award on my next entry! Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

June 11, 2008 - ~Update~

Hey Everyone,

Ok, Well I will tell you all about my week and what I will be up to during the summer, and a bunch of different things.

On Tuesday I went to go see the new Indiana Jones Movie with my best friend Sierra and her family. I thought the movie was ok, it was entertaining,
it was a little strange(it was like about aliens), I defiantly liked the first one the best!

After the movie I spent the night at Sierra's house!  I had a great time! We played a game on her bro's xbox! We did each others hair and makeup as well, we just had a fun girl night!

Next week on Wednesday and Thursday I have testing! This one lady does testing for quite a few kids. She tests us on school subjects, she is very nice and I always have a great time!

My plans for the summer are really simple and kind of boring! Mainly for the summer I will be working on a TON of 4-H stuff, and finishing up some basic training for my horse Little Guy.
In July I am going to horse camp, that is basically all that I am doing for the summer! Well, I will also be having sleepovers with friends, going swimming,  reading, and hanging out with my family.

I added some more things to my sidebar, and after I am finished writing this entry I am going to add some more games, icons, and anything else I can think of!

God Bless Everyone

May 31, 2008 - Weekend

Hello,

I would like to thank everyone for the sweet comments that you left on the post before this one!

First of all I will start by saying that I added more things to my sidebar, I added a game, calender, a scratch it, and some famous quotes. If you have a chance please check them out!

My dad's horse Warrior had surgery on his eye on Wednesday. Warrior had a cancerous tumor in his eye and it had to be removed. The surgery went well, and he is doing great! We have to give him chemo eyedrops for 3 months, just to make sure that if there is any cancer left in the eye that the eyedrops will kill the rest of the cancer.

In an hour my friend Shopia and her family are coming over to our house. We are going to have a barbecue! My brother Matthew likes to play with Sophia's brother Ben. Their family is really sweet, they are great friends!

Well That is all for this post, I need to go and comment people!

May 21, 2008 - ~Just another Day~

Hello Everyone,

Lately I have been working really hard on my school work. My goal is to be done with school for the year in two weeks. I am a little behind in math, so I have been doing around 5 math lessons a day, plus History and Grammar.

This Friday I have to go have allergy testing done again. I am not too thrilled about it, last time they had to take my blood and this time they have to do prick testing. After the allergy stuff is done my mom and I are going shopping! I can’t wait I need to get some summer clothes, especially shorts and tank tops, I am like a shopping addict, lol!

On my last entry a couple people left a comment asking a few different questions about different things, so I will answer the questions.

BlueJane asked if I would tell a little more about my horse.

My horse, Little Guy is a Tennessee Walking Horse, gelding. He is 15.2 hands and he is 9 years old. I have been working really hard on training him, with the help of my dad and my neighbor. My dad helps a lot with different things, he is great! My neighbor is awesome with horses, she has helped me a lot with Little Guy and right now she is working with me on English riding.  I have been around horses all my life and I have been in 4-H for 5 years. This is the first time I have ever tried to train a horse, and I have done a TON of research, so I hope everything will go well!

And Simplyme asked me what my room is like.

I have a fairly large room, the walls are blue. I have like a sky blue color on the top part of the walls and a navy blue on the bottom part and the colors are separated by a border. I have a queen size bed, my dad made it for me all by himself. I Love it!!!! I have an arched window, and below my window I have my night stand that has books piled a mile high on it, lol! I have a dresser, desk, and other miscellaneous things in my room!

If you have any more questions about me or anything else, just let me know! Hopefully I will have some answers!

Oh, and Achaeles tagged me as well as Strive17, so I will have to post that tag tomorrow (sorry about that).

May 15, 2008 - ~Untitled~

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been forever since I have written an entry. I have now decided that I will update my blog three times a week or more! Now everyone won’t be bored reading the same post over and over and over and over again.

The weather has been gorgeous in Washington lately. It was sunny today (finally); the temperature was around 80 degrees. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 95 degrees, maybe now I can get a tan!  The next few weeks look like they are “supposed” to be nice.

Tomorrow morning I am going on a trail ride with my neighbor! She is really good at jumping and English; she said she is going to help train me and Little Guy (My horse) to jump. Little Guy loves jumping so it should go well! Little Guy is coming along VERY well with his training.

Tomorrow I am also going to Youth Group! I love youth group it is really fun! I get to meet new people and learn about God, it is great!

Ok, that is all I have for now! If anyone would like to know me more, like things I like to do, just let me know! I need something more interesting to post about, lol!

May 9, 2008 - Another Award

Hello,

This week has been VERY eventful! The beginning of the week my allergies were really bad. I went threw 2 boxes of Kleenexes in two days, it was awful. I couldn’t do any horse back riding which really sucked. But I am feeling a LOT better today. I started taking my allergy medicine again and now my allergies are under control!

Yesterday my friend Sierra came over. We did some school in the morning and the rest of the day we watched TV and just hanged out. I was so tired and my allergies were so bad that I took a little snooze while she watched a movie, lol! Today my dad, Sierra, and I went on a horse back ride for a few hours. It was a nice ride, it was mainly all up hill, so the horses got a REALLY good work out!

Sierra awarded me the You Make My day Award, (thank you)!

May 2, 2008 - ~Awards~

Well, it has been a very fun few weeks for me! I have gotten to ride my new 4-H horse several times for the past few weeks. My new 4-H horse is a gelding named Little Guy. He is around 15 hands, he is 10, and he is a Tennessee Walker. He was born on my family’s farm (his mother is my mom’s horse) and he has mainly been a trail horse. He hasn’t had a lot of training and since I want to show him in our county fair this year my dad and I are working on training him. It is going to take a LOT of work he has a mind of his own and he has never been taught to do anything.  He has been doing extremely well so far with his training and he is starting pick up on several different things.  He is really great at leg raining and I hope he will be ready for the fair this year.

The weather has been so beautiful lately. It has not rained in 2 days! YEAHHHHHH, lets party, lol! I have been able to get a lot of things outside done! I hope it stays sunny for at least 2 weeks! Lol!

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment.  I switched doctors’ offices so yesterday was my first visit to my new doctor. The doctor’s appointment was about my allergies. I have always had allergies and I needed to see if I had to get new medication for my allergies and a little more about how to help my allergies from getting the best of me. My new doctor is really nice and very helpful! The doctor agreed with my mom about scheduling an allergy test. So in a few weeks I will be going to this one doctor that has this long name that specializes in allergies and allergy testing.

Ok, I have a few awards to give away. I found these awards on photobucket and I thought they were really cute and I have been wanting to give away some awards!

April 24, 2008 - Weather(spring or winter?)

Hello Everyone,

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write a REAL post. I have been really busy lately. I know I use that excuse every post and it is getting old, I will try to think of a better excuse next time, lol.

Let’s see I don’t know where to begin about what I have been doing for the last several weeks.

Where I live the weather has been showing NO sign of spring. It snowed a few days ago and we have had only 2 days of sunshine in the month of April and 2 days of sunshine in the month of March. I think it is ridiculous, it is supposed to be SPRING I think this is what spring is supposed to be, sunny 70 degree weather, flowers blooming, you should be able to wear shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops. But instead the version of spring where I live has been this: Cold 30-40 degree weather snow and rain are included in that, we have to go to the grocery store to be able to see “spring flowers”, and I am STILL wearing long sleeved shirts, jeans, warm wool socks, and boots. I am so ready for a WARM day here, usually in Washington State spring is fairly warm and we don’t have TONS of rain in March and April.  How has everybody else’s spring been? For those of you who live in Georgia or Mexico I imagine it has been quite nice, lol!

Yesterday it was around 50 degrees; it was so nice to have a break from the 30 degree weather. It hadn’t been raining or snowing yet that day. A lady that I have been riding my horse with lately called and asked if my dad and I would like to go horse back riding. I, of course said yes. And I had a fabulous time. Vixson (my horse) did an awesome job. It was the first time she had been ridden since October and she did very well. I was really surprised. She is 27 years old, so I thought she would be a stiff and not want to do a lot of things. But she surprised me and she was not that stiff and she even wanted to jump this one log that was crossing the trail, and she did. She is my favorite horse ever. She is a good old girl.  And after we got back from riding it rained.

Tomorrow is swimming lessons! And after swimming lessons one of my friends and her mom and brother are coming over. Her mom is really great with horses and she will be giving our horses there vaccinations (shots that help them from getting deadly diseases) this year. She is a really nice lady and her daughter and son are really nice as well!

Well I need to go do some commenting now!

God Bless,
~Makayla~

April 15, 2008 - Pen-pals

Hi everyone,

Jocelyn Dixon posted about this on her blog and I thought this sounded so fun, so I decided to post about it on my blog. This is for girls only(sorry to all those guys out there). The sight is called Kindred Hearts and they have a spot where you can sign up to become someones pen-pal ( I have signed up). Here is some information just in case you would like to sign up and become a pen-pal. And here is the link........Kindred Hearts now please go sign up!!!!!

Pour yourself a cup of tea, find some pretty paper and open your favorite pen. Your new friend is waiting to hear the latest happenings and be encouraged.

Your lovely letter is received with excitement as your friend opens it to hear from you! Perhaps you enclosed a lovely bookmark, scented-pressed flowers, a photograph, or just a hello hug. Taking the time for old fashioned correspondence is almost non-existent with the communication possibilities available today. Many people find little reason to sit down with a pretty piece of stationary to carefully pen a nice letter. So few know the joyous anticipation of this lovely gift!

Each issue of Seasons at Home will now be encouraging our interested readers to sign up for Kindred Hearts. Our goal is to bring together those women who long for pen and paper fellowship! As many of us spend most of our time in our homes with our children and daily duties, a letter or card from a distant friend can be such a joy.

If you would like to find "like-minded" women who love the Lord and long to share encouragement and blessings, then join us as we write the good old fashioned way using our postal service! We would like to dedicate this column to those who are looking to share prayers, encouraging words, letters, cards, and friendship with others across the miles.

Girls ages 13-18 may sign up for our Young Kindred Heart pen pal program!

I think this is great and I hope a lot of people sign up!!!!

April 12, 2008 - Sorry it has been so long!

I am so sorry it has taken FOREVER to write a new entry, this week has been really chaotic.

On Tuesday my mom had to go to a hotel and attend some meetings that were for her work. She said that my best friend Sierra and I could come with her and swim in the pool and watch tv while she was in the meetings. While my mom was in her meetings we went swimming in the pool , watched tv, and drank coffee. Thankfully we were on spring break so we didn't have to do any school, which was awesome!  We spent the night at the hotel and the next day we went back to my house. I had a small b-day party that evening and most of my friends and family got to come. I had a great time! Oh, I almost forgot THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED ME ON THE LAST POST. THAT IS THE MOST COMMENT
S I HAVE EVER HAD ON MY BLOG! THANK YOU EVERYONE, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

One of the classes I go to in co-op was having a field trip on Friday. The class that I am taking is all about Washington history. We were studying about Lewis and Clark, and different Forts.  There is a fort near where I live. The fort is called Fort Vancouver, it was used as a trading post in the 1800s. It is a really cool place to visit. They have old cannons that you can look at, they have a blacksmiths shop, you got to see them make horse shoes and other things, they had a jail, and a bakers shop.  In the 1800s beaver fur was like gold to us now. Beave
r fur was worth a lot of money in England. It sold between 50-70 pounds. That was a LOT of money considering that the men that caught the beaver were only paid 25 pounds per year.  There were a lot of other cool facts as well! If any of you are planning on visiting Washington I would defiantly recommend you to visit Fort Vancouver!

Today is going to be another busy day. My mom's best friend's grandma died a few days ago. They are having the funeral this afternoon. It would be great if everyone could pray for my mom's best friend's family. It is really hard on them.

April 1, 2008 - ~My Birthday~

Hello everyone,

I have sooooooooooooooo much to write about, I don't know where to start. Well........, last Friday I babysat this little boy that lives near my family and I. He is four years old and his name is Noah, he is such a great kid. He listens VERY well!!!! He listens WAY better then the dogs his parents have.lol The dogs they have are blue healers, and they are really hyper, and they LOVE to chew on things, fight with each other, and lick you to death. It gets really frustrating sometimes.

While Noah was watching one of his favorite shows on their tv, I vacuumed and cleaned up the kitchen and made things look nice for his parents. While I was vacuuming I took of my shoes and sat them by the chair, when I was finished I forgot all about My shoes and I started to clean the kitchen. And then I noticed that the dogs were quiet, I went over where the dogs were and I noticed that they were chewing on one of my shoes. They had managed to rip out the entire sole, and there were teeth marks threw out the whole shoe. The bummer was that they were practicly new shoes, and they were expensive as well. I never told the parents, because they told me not to leave anything where the dogs could get a hold of it. I forgot all about what they said, so it was partially my fault. I guess I'll know better next time. They gave me a good amount of money for babysitting, so I will just have to go to the store and buy a new pair of shoes, problem is solved.

I can't wait, my birthday is in eight days!!!!! I will be turning 13! My birthday is on a Wednesday, and some of my friends wouldn't be able to come on a weekday, I am planing to have my party on the weekend!

My dad is excellent when it comes to making different things out of wood. He knows all about the different types of wood and he knows how to build a lit of different things.  He made my brothers a beautiful dresser! For the past year I wanted my dad to make me a bed. The bed that I had was a twin size, it was really low to the ground, and it wasn't that sturdy either. I was totally ready for a new bed. I asked my dad if he could make me a new one. It took him awhile, but he finally said yes, I picked out the pattern that I liked. And he made it out of scratch for me. It is a queen size, it is made out of Black Walnut, it is 14 inches from the ground, and I LOVE it! (Dad if u happen to read this post thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.) That is my birthday present from my dad and mom!

Tonight will be the first night I will get to sleep in my new bed, my dad ended up giving me my present a little bit early.

Thank you everyone for the comments that you left me on my last post! I am going to try to post more regularly!!!!! lol

God Bless,
~Makayla~

March 26, 2008 - I hate being sick

Sorry it has taken me FOREVER to post! I have had a bad cold. I have been so tired and I have at least went through several boxes of Kleenexes, and my nose is still running. This morning I am feeling a little better!!!!!!

Last Saturday my mom, my brother Matthew, and my friend Sierra went to a birthday party for my mom's friend. Her husband planned a surprise birthday party for her! He did a GREAT job, there was at least 100 people there! I had a blast! After the party my friend Sierra spent the night at my house and we watched several movies! The movies were pretty good, my favorite one that we watched was Go To Mars. It is a really funny movie, it was made in like the 1950s ( I think), it is Black and White. It is an awesome movie!!!!

How was everyone's Easter??? Mine was great! Sierra got to stay for Easter! My mom made ham, potatoes, rolls, and for desert she made flan. Flan is an awesome desert, it has caramel on the top, and it is like a pudding! It is really delicious.

Last night my mom, my brothers, and me watched the Bee Movie. I thought it was an ok movie. It was kind of stupid though. It had a couple funny parts. It wasn't my favorite movie. My mom rented that one and a few other movies. She also rented Enchanted, I can't wait to see that! Are there any other movies that y'all would recommend me to see? Let me know!
