December 29, 2008 - ~Poem~
Hi Peoples,
How have you been doing? Did you guys have a great Christmas?
The majority of our snow has melted. We have had 2 strait days of rain and so now we have several inches here and there. I will say that we had a VERY White Christmas this year. On Christmas day we had three feet of snow and in drifts we had up to four feet. The day after Christmas it rained and rained and rained and needless to say by-by snow. I will have to say I am thankful that the snow is melting, it is so hard to function when there is so much snow. I know I felt VERY housebound. Hopefully we will not have this much snow again for a couple more years
!
I got this email from one of my friend's and I thought it was well worth sharing!
Here it is:
I am three,
My eyes are swollen
I cannot see,
I must be stupid
I must be bad,
What else could have made
My daddy so mad?
I wish I were better
I wish I weren't ugly,
Then maybe my mommy
Would still want to hug me.
I can't do a wrong
I can't speak at all
Or else I'm locked up
All day long.
When I'm awake I'm all alone
The house is dark
My folks aren't home
When my mommy does come home
I'll try and be nice,
So maybe I'll just get
One whipping tonight.
I just heard a car
My daddy is back
From Charlie's bar.
I hear him curse
My name is called
I press myself
Against the wall
I try to hide
From his evil eyes
I'm so afraid now
I'm starting to cry
He finds me weeping
Calls me ugly words,
He says its my fault
He suffers at work.
He slaps and hits me
And yells at me more,
I finally get free
And run to the door
He's already locked it
And i start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me
Against the hard wall
I fall to the floor
With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues
With more bad words spoken,
'I'm sorry!', I scream
But its now much to late
His face has been twisted
Into a unimaginable shape
The hurt and the pain
Again and again
O please God, have mercy!
O please let it end!
And he finally stops
And heads for the door
While I lay there motionless
Brawled on the floor
My name is Chris
I am three,
Tonight my daddy
Murdered me
And you can help
me,
And if you read this
and don't pass it on
I pray for your forgiveness
Because you would have to be
One heartless person
To not be effected
By this Poem
And because you are effected,
Do something about it!
So all I ask you to do
Is pass this on!

I was gonna go up and do a bright and cheerful comment, but the poem left me feeling a little more thoughtful. Anyway, our family has done a lot with helping people in situations like that, and actually some of them are now my adopted sisters... I won't go into to it further, but God has used us in that area.
You mean it rains in December where you live? It doesn't just snow, snow, snow?
It was like 75 F or something on Christmas here, but at least its cold now...no snow though.

aahh, that was a very, very sad poem.....its so horrible to even think someone could do that to thier kid..

oohhh, I forgot to say that it totally did not snow here...sob sob. I love snow : )
me and some of my family went walking on christmas...geez : ) it was pretty warm. ( i had a jacket on but soon took it off. i had short sleeves on.)

That poem completely captivated me!!!! I just couldn't stop scrolling down and down until the end! I hardly even blinked. That was... so sad. Thats all I can say. I am touched by it.

Oh, so your doing swim team? That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish you best of luck! That's funny that you make the same resolution every year. The more I think about it, so do I. lol. I'll try and change that. :-)
