Here I am
Well, Homeschooling world, I wonder a little how long it will take to be noticed. Hi. {waves}
I signed up to be able to comment non-anonymously on another homeschool blogger blog, and here I am.
This week I hope to start my freshly 4-year-old daughter on the Parent-child Distar reading program. I am nervous about this for the same reason I've never felt Suzuki was for our family: we as parents don't seem to be very orderly or consistent in our own lives, and so are not great at creating it in our children's lives.
Any night that has either teeth-brushing or prayers as part of bedtime is a *good* night. Evenings with both are quite rare. And, of course, we value both. So... God help us, I really don't know how we are going to do this whole homeschooling thing, other than we feel it's the only right thing for us to do, and somehow God with enable us.
My other test (as I air my weaknesses to the disinterested (if not actively critical) world) is learning how to be unwavering in my own knowledge of *rightness* for my children--in homeschooling-- without completely shutting down peers and relatives who have chosen to public-school their own.
I welcome your prayers. |

You're not alone in your concerns. I've been doing this for 10 years, and every year I still wonder if it's the best choice for my kids.... But then I read about what's going on in the public schools, and feel that I have no choice BUT to homeschool.
