We have begun our school year in the book of I Samuel, and continue in our family tradition of breakfast and Bible time first thing in the morning.  A couple of years...maybe 3 or so back...I undertook reading through the Bible in a year, and realized just how interesting the history and action were.  I knew there were lessons I would one day desire to return to, and so we are beginning here with Samuel. 

It is uncanny how the Lord places you in a place in His word that is well suited to the things your heart dwells upon, and He has proven His sovereignty yet again.  He is speaking into our lives, challenging us, confirming so very much, and I am interested to see His moving in this manner. 

As I ponder these things, I will attempt to share insights along the way.  I can't say enough of the value of studying with my children, as this is where so much of their grounding in scripture takes place.
