The boys didn't pull it off last night.  They started out with a great time at bat the first inning, scoring 5.  They left 3 runners on base.  Ds walked after being hit by a pitch...thank goodness for batting helmets!  The opponents came back strong when they got up to bat, going through their entire batting order.  We had some fielding errors as well, and they scored 6.

We had one run the next inning, and that was it.  The other team blew us away from that point on, pretty much going through the entire batting order every up.  We lost 24 to 6.  Wow. 

Closing ceremonies are Sat. morning.  The top 2 teams still meet at least once more, perhaps twice depending on the outcome.  It's been a busy time, and lots of fun.  But it will be nice not to have to run into town so much for a while, too.  At least not until soccer season!  5 of the 8 have expressed interest in playing...gotta get that garden in gear so I can save on groceries and save up for all the fees and gear!  Yikes.
