Sentence to correctly punctuate:

After eating my grandfather went to bed.

Option #1:
After eating my grandfather, went to bed.

Option #2:
After eating, my grandfather went to bed.

LOL! One of my poetry entries in last fall's festival received a comment on punctuation, and how a comma's placement can make a big difference in meaning. Point proven.
