Coolest Clubhouse
We went to the cabin to see our three cousins. Before lunch, we decided to make a clubhouse. I looked for one deep in the forest, but all I found was one where we could still see the cabin from it. I found a dead tree with twigs hanging down all around the tree, making a roof. I showed it to K and then B and S ran up, wondering what we were up to. We let B in on the secret, but S wanted to go with the boys. So we set out for our clubhouse.
We started to look for teeny sticks to start our clubhouse, but K didn't want to go. She wanted to stay to break the twigs off to form some steps. When we came back, we found that she made four nice steps made out of branches that led up to a seat above the twig roof.
The whole time I was daydreaming about a clubhouse with sticks with forks on them which you could hook up to the twigs. We broke big sticks off of dead trees, when just then, S came running along and B told her it was dangerous. I said that she could watch. S watched us break big sticks off of the trees and then she went to help the boys.
I came to see the boys' treehouse, and I found K there helping them. I came back to the clubhouse and B already had sticks up like I was daydreaming about. We set out to search for more sticks and I found just the kind of ones in my daydream with forks.
We found in the woodpile lots of big logs with branches to hook them up. We found medium-sized trees that were really heavy. I was the only one moving them, because I was the oldest. B was putting nails in the tree to hang up stuff. (It was dead so that she could do that.) Right before I got the first biggest tree on the clubhouse, S cam running and climbed up the steps, and she pretended that she was a hamster. I lifted up the big tree (and when I had to go home, I realized it was the heaviest tree that I had used.) It was a cool tree. It was curling, and even though it was big, it broke easily, because where there were curls, the wide tree could break. It had moss on it.
I started working on the back side after I made a new room. Next B went to gather sticks for a long time, and S went away to help the boys and K. I started going in the rooms and breaking wide twigs off, because they were blocking the way. It got dust in my eyes and little chips fell.
Just then, it was time for supper and B came up and started hammering a nail in with a rock. I told her we'd come out after supper.
After supper, we came out again, and we started building, and soon we had a wonderful treehouse. (Too bad we couldn't put the rotten wood on for the floor or the shingles which were bark from logs, because we had to go.)
Mom came out to take pictures. I made a window after the pictures were taken, even though we could see through tons of cracks.

We came to see the boys' and K's clubhouse. They showed us a new treehouse that they had added. It was really teeny with bark from logs for a roof. There were two long logs that were impossible to cllimb up, because they got bouncy and slippery at the top.
Mom called us and we had to get in the van and go home with Grandpa and Grandma.

Sounds like you had a great time and that clubhouse looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for writing about it.
