Fancy Flower
I
painted this with watercolors today. I did some butterflies too,
but they are drying on the kitchen counter. My Mommy's friend,
Aimee, gave us the watercolors.

Yes, I painted the horse and though I am not sure which of the girl portraits you saw (the sidebar photobadge has different pictures every time) all the the paintings are my own work. I am glad you like them. I haven't had much of an opportunity to draw or paint lately because my art table is being used as a desk for a computer. My husband is planning to make two long desks on each side of the homeschool area for our computers this fall. That will be great because not only will it look nicer than having 5 different styles of desks in one room but I will get to have a place to paint again. :0)
I am not sure what my 5 year old might be interested in painting tomorrow. His name is Zachary. He likes to draw on the white board - like you did for your horse. I hadn't really thought about taking a picture of his drawings. I think I will try hard to do that next time.
I loved your flowers! I saw immediately than you have a very good instinct with shape, line, and balance. Those are artist terms for design elements that work to make good drawings and paintings. I wanted to help you know what those words meant, so I looked on the internet to see if I could find a fun place that did a good job of explaining it. I think that I found the perfect place. Go to http://www.sanford-artedventures.com/study/g_art_principles.html. The first page looks kind of plain, but the links take you to all kinds of fun places to learn about the principles of design. There are several art games too. I hope you have fun there.

Hi Sophie,
I love the flower. It is my fav color. how did you know? Thanks for brightening my day.
Josi is sleeping or I would have her look at it.
She had a great time at your house the other day and she is excited that "foofie" is coming to our house soon.
See you on the Lord's day.
Love,
