A New Tearoom and Gift Shop To Open in Ridgeway, SC
Carol Allen of Blythewood is opening The Thomas Company in Ridgeway, It will be a tearoom,art gallery, a coffee shop and a gift shop in a renovated 6,000 sq ft building. She will be listed on all major tea room websites, have her own website, and advertise in such publications as Southern Lady, Tea Time and someday Southern Living, besides area papers and magazines. Opening is set for the end of May, first of June...its all in the contractors hands right now!
She wants to consign area quilts and crafts, she already has several crafters that have been with her since she had Candlelight Cottage in Blythewood, and they will be happy to talk to you about her honesty and the way she will promote your product. There will be a wonderful mezzanine area to display quilts, with an antique "suit" display case that will show them off beautifully...this mezzanine can be seen from the whole store. Carol will be happy to show you the building any time you would like to see it!
Contact her to talk about consignments of your quilts. She will "jury" quilts in to be displayed for sale. Maker sets the price and she takes 30% of sale price. Checks are issued on or about the 10th of each month, a very easy contract is required, you can quit and pull your product any time you want. She also will carry fire and theft liability insurance. They also are very willing to do special days, showcasing one or many quilters/crafters, there will be art shows and special art related promotions going on all the time. Also they are interested in doing classes if any of you are interested in teaching.
