Special Needs Conference

GIFTSNC Homeschool Conference

Dear Fellow Homeschoolers and Parents with Special Need Children,

Every year there are more and more families choosing to home school their children with special needs.  GIFTSNC is a home school support group for families with special needs children.  Our goal is to support, empower, guide and educate families home schooling children with special needs through conferences, workshops and family-to-family support.

We are planning our third GIFTSNC Home Schooling Special Needs Conference and Exhibitor's Hall on August 15-16, 2008.   We are trying to reach as many families as possible that might benefit by attending a conference geared specifically for their unique home school support needs.  Below is conference information that can be sent to your members via email or yahoo groups that do not allow attachments.

So many families home schooling special needs children feel that they are alone in their journey.  Our conference helps to bring these families together and provide valuable information for teaching special children at home.  We would appreciate any help you can give us in letting others know about this conference.

Thank you so very much.  Please, let me know if you have any questions. Please also use our website as a resource for your family.  We also have a Yahoo! Groups list, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GIFTSNC/.

GIFTSNC Home Schooling Special Needs Conference and Exhibitor's Hall

Are you home educating a child that learns outside the box?
Are you currently home educating a child that has been diagnosed with a special need?
Do you have a child with special needs and are considering home schooling, but just aren't sure that you could ever do that?

If any of these describes you and your family, come join us at the third annual GIFTSNC Home Schooling Special Needs Conference and Exhibitor's Hall on August 15-16, 2008 at Colonial Baptist Church, 6051 Tryon Rd, Cary, NC 27511.
Conference hours are 2:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. August 15, and 8:00 a.m-7:00 p.m. August 16th.

This conference will enlighten, educate, and encourage you to move along the path of successfully home educating your children, especially those with special needs. We will have many experienced parents share their own home school adventures and offer time-tested solutions for dealing with the many unique aspects of home educating children with different learning needs.  We learn so much from each other.  There will be several opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with other families facing the same challenges you have. We will also have several professionals addressing issues of interest to the special needs community. We are very pleased to have Andrew Pudewa of the Institute for Excellence in Writing as our Keynote Speaker.  We are planning up to 70+ workshops covering areas and topics such
as-Beginning Home Schooling, Sue Patrick's Workbox System, Breaking Down Curriculum for Success, ADD/ADHD, Home Schooling Visually Impaired Children, Increasing Learning Potential, Music in the Home School, Social Skills, Testing, File Folder Activities, Learn 'N Folders, Literacy, Math Disabilities, Teaching with Technology, Teaching Tips, ADHD/Gifted & Talented, Preschool, Nutrition, a Home Schooling through High School and beyond track of workshops, Vendor Workshops and much, much more!  Don't miss the Parent Mixer on Friday Aug. 15th from 7-9 as an excellent way to meet and network other home schooling parents.
