Somewhere In the Middle ~ Casting Crowns

Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You’ll find me

Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You’re making me
Somewhere in the middle, You’ll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle

Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves

Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You’ll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You’re by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I’m caught in the middle

~ November Already? ~

Hey everyone!

It's November already?

So, I have been pretty busy lately. The drama team has another performance this Sunday night and there's another one the week after that, so I've been working on some of my songs that I already know and a couple of new ones.

Right now, I am spending the night at my grandparents' house, and listening to some songs from the new Casting Crowns album. (I can't wait for this CD) I've also been working on my NanoWrimo novel. My goal is 25,000 words for this one, and so far I'm at 4,352. So far I have finished the prologue of my story and some of the first chapter. So, that's pretty good for me. I just haven't thought of a title yet.

Well, I guess that is all for now.

The Word Is Alive ~ Casting Crowns

Looking out from His throne, the Father of light and of men

Chose to make Himself known and show us the way back to Him
Speaking wisdom and truth into the hearts of peasants and kings
He began to unveil the Word that would change the course of all things

With eyes wide open, all would see

The Word is alive
And it cuts like a sword through the darkness
With a message of life to the hopeless and afraid
Breathing life into all who believe
The Word is alive
And the world and its glories will fade
But His truth, it will not pass away
It remains yesterday and forever the same
The Word is alive

Simple strokes on a page
Eternity's secrets revealed, carried on from age to age
It speaks Truth to us even still
And as the rain falls from Heaven, feeds the earth before it returns
Lord, let Your Word fall on us and bring forth the fruit You deserve

With eyes wide open, let us see

The Word is alive
His Word is alive

~ An Award From Nikkisimcox! ~

Hey everyone!

I have been so busy lately! The drama team has been practicing a lot in the last couple of weeks; we had a performance last night and two more coming up next month. The Fall Festival at church was this last Saturday. It was fun. There was a craft fair, and then we had games and the talent show afterward.

I have been given the Gorgeous Blogger Award by Nikkisimcox ! Thanks, Momma!

Now, I have to tell you 6 things you might not know about me.

1. I have too many nicknames to list.

2. When I was younger, people thought I was older than I was. Sometimes they still do, and sometimes they think I'm younger than I really am.

3. I am a Christian, homeschool teen girl, and I that is what I like to be, and I get weird looks all the time when I tell people that.... LOL

4. My favoritest food is cheesecake!

5. I have discovered that I am much better at baking than I am at cooking. LOL. I don't know how that is, but it is. I can't say that I "can't cook", because technically I can, I guess, but I am not all that great at it. But I'm working on it.

6. Since I am now 16, I can officially date, but I will only date the guy that God tells me that I can date. So, since I am currently not dating, people often ask me why. I get so many weird looks when I tell them why I'm currently not dating, you wouldn't believe it.

Now that I have told you about me, it's time to pass this award along! I am giving this award to...

Roosie (HobbitsTale)

Lillian

Anna (cheezerx3)

Bluejane

~ Hey everyone! ~

Hey everyone!

I have been really slow about updating my blog.....

Sorry about missing the past two "Sing A Song Saturdays". I just haven't had a chance to post those. But, I am really going to try to post one this Saturday.

This week has been pretty busy though. A lot going on for school and church and stuff. I finished my play! It's the first one I've written, but I'm quite happy with it. Hopefully we can perform it in January.

I went to a Third Day concert this Thursday! It was really cool! They sang several songs that I really like. We (Mom, me, Tman and MLo—my friend) had floor seats, which were really good. The band even came out into the audience and sang a few songs—I was really excited about this because I was only ten seats away from where they were singing!

Yesterday was really busy. I went with Mom and Tman to a craft fair thing at a local restaurant. It was so cold! We were there for a long time.

Well, that's about all, I think......

~ I Cannot Think Of A Title... ~

Hey everyone!
I'm not sure what's up with that, but I can't seem to think of a title for anything lately. :-)

So, the performance Saturday was awesome! We also have another performance next month, I believe, and possibly two others.... Drama Team's pretty excited about getting a good response from people about our first touring performance. Now we just have some drama to practice with the songs and we're going to be learning a few new songs too. I just have to pick mine. It's fun though.

School is good; I'm about to finish my English PACE. Today we didn't have any "bookwork". We have been canning pumpkin today. That was pretty fun.

Tonight the youth group is going to a thing at another church tonight, but that isn't until later. Sunday night at church 6 people got saved! There were 5 re-dedications too.

Well, I think that's all for now, even though it's just a short post.

~ Legolas Greenleaf ~

Hey everyone! Here is something I wrote about Legolas from Lord Of The Rings.

Legolas Greenleaf

    Legolas was the prince of Mirkwood. His father was Thranduil, but his mother’s name is unknown. His birth date is also unknown, but his age is estimated to be between 2,000 and 3,000 years old.
    He is first mentioned in the Lord of the Rings at the council of Elrond. He was sent as a messenger by Thranduil to tell that Smeagol (Gollum) had escaped from Mirkwood. Legolas volunteered to join the Fellowship and its quest after Frodo stepped forth; while before, the other council-members were arguing. (A great mutual dislike between Elves and Dwarves played a role.)
    When the Fellowship departed from Rivendell, they faced many hardships. One was the journey over Caradrhas to get to Moria, and as the others fought to get through the snow, Legolas was able to walk nimbly above it. While in the Mines of Moria, they had to battle goblins and Orcs, a cave troll, and the Watcher in the Water. In these battles, Legolas proved to be not only a skilled archer, but also skilled in fighting with Elven long knives.
    After Gandalf’s fall, the Fellowship continued on, now led by Aragorn. When they came to the borders of Lorien, they were not allowed to enter, until after much arguing. It was agreed upon that the entire Fellowship, not just Gimli, would be led blindfolded through to Lothlorien. Though Legolas wished to see the forest, he eventually allowed himself to be blindfolded. Before leaving Lothlorien, Galadriel gave Legolas a bow of the Galadrim and told him to beware of the Sea, or his heart would no longer rest in the forests.
    They then continued to the Great River, where they fought many Urak-Hai. The Fellowship separated: Frodo and Sam going on to Mordor, Merry and Pippin were captured, and Boromir died. Legolas chose to go with Aragorn and Gimli to rescue Merry and Pippin.
    The three of them continued to Edoras, where they were told by Eomer that the Hobbits were likely dead. The trio set out toward Fangorn, a forest that Legolas longed to see. They didn’t find the Hobbits, but met Gandalf, now brought back to finish his task. They went with Gandalf to Rohan. It was here that Legolas witnessed Gandalf release King Theoden of Saruman’s hold on his mind. When it was decided to evacuate to Helm’s Deep, Legolas went too. He fought in the Battle of Helm’s Deep.
    Legolas still travelled with Aragorn and Gimli to Gondor, and on through the Paths of the Dead. They sailed with Aragorn and the Army of the Dead to Minas Tirith, where they fought in the Battle of Pelennor Fields. After that great battle, Legolas went with Aragorn to the Black Gate of Mordor to give Frodo a chance to destroy the Ring.
    After the destruction of the One Ring, Legolas and other members of the Fellowship remained in Minas Tirith for some time. Legolas and Gimli had become good friends during this quest. When they left Minas Tirith, each kept their promise: Legolas went with Gimli to see the Glittering Caves, so Gimli went with Legolas to see Fangorn.
   As Galadriel had said, Legolas fell in love with the Sea. In the year 1541 of the Fourth Age, Legolas built a grey ship in Ithilien. It is said that Gimli sailed with him down the Anduin River and over the sea. In Middle Earth, the passing of this ship marked the end of the Fellowship of the Ring.

~ I wonder what the title should be... ~

Hey everyone! As you can see, I wasn't sure what to title this post. :-)

School has been going great so far. I'm on my third English book right now. This week has been busy. My brother Hoopy's birthday was Wednesday, and we've also had lots of practice for Drama this week. We always practice more often when we have a performance though. We have our first performance outside of our own church tonight, so we are pretty excited. We've had practice everyday since Wednesday. Yesterday, we got to perform for the kids that are in the church's school. It was basically a practice for tonight, and to get opinions on what they thought of it. Here's the songs we will be performing tonight.

Lifesong ~ Casting Crowns (group)
American Dream ~ Casting Crowns(a friend)
Show Me Your Glory ~ Third Day (me)
Shout to the Lord (another friend)
Set Me Free ~ Casting Crowns (me)
Here I Go Again ~ Casting Crowns(friend; same as American Dream)
And Now My Lifesong Sings ~ Casting Crowns (Mom)

I'm also working on a script, and it should be done soon. It's my first attempt at writing a play, and we are hoping to be able to perform it in November.

And... I have reached 150 comments on my blog! Thanks everyone for commenting!

Well, I think that is all for now.

~ ~ Sing A Song Saturday ~ October 3, 2009 ~

Hey everyone! It's Sing A Song Saturday! I was going to post a song last week, but the playlist site was acting weird and wouldn't let me edit my playlist; but it is working this week! Today, I am posting a song that the Drama Team has been working on, and we will be performing it tonight (it's our first performance outside of our church). So....here it is! Hope you like it!
~~~
Lifesong ~ Casting Crowns
Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You
~ Autumn Poetry Party 2009 ~ Of Autumn ~
Hey everyone! Here is my poem for the 2009 Autumn Poetry Party at Simcox Homeschool! For the rules, check out my Mom's blog.
Of Autumn
Anthocyanins turn the leaves red
The breeze carries the scent of pumpkin bread
Leaf piles scattered all around
From the treetops leaves journey to the ground
Clouds hang in the brilliant blue sky
The kitchen smells like pumpkin pie
On vines along the ground pumpkins grow
A scarecrow smiles at the end of the row
Through the patches people run
In search of a pumpkin, just the right one
A soft breeze, and the warmth of the sun
Mark the beginning of Autumn
~ Well, I Suppose That The Subject Of This Post Is Writing :-) ~
Hey everyone!
So, school is going good; I got a little frustrated with English today because the lesson I had today was reviewing stuff that I didn't remember all that well. But, in the words of Khalil from VeggieTales: "I am okay with that now."  (Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie) :-)  In each of my English books I have to write a different story. The book has a basic plot outline and the characters involved, and I have to write a story using that and incorporating a certain character trait. It's interesting. I also had to write an essay today, which wasn't too bad, but my hand hurt after writing it.
While I'm talking (or rather, typing) about writing, I have signed up for NanoWrimo (that's right isn't it?) this year. I'm already working on a novel, (the goal for it is 50,000 words) but for NanoWrimo, I decided to sign up for the Young Writer's site that lets me pick my own word goal. I figured that would be a good way to start out since this is my first year for this. I've seen a lot of people on here participating in this, and it looked like it could be fun.
I guess that is all for now.
~ Hey all! ~
Hey everyone!
Okay, so I just posted already for the Sing A Song Saturday, but now it's time I updated my blog with a regular post.
I met Beverly Lewis today! There was a book signing at one of the local libraries, and me, Mom and Roosie went. It was cool. She was really nice.
The first week of school for me went great! I already finished 2 PACEs, (1 English, 1 Life of Christ). When I get bored after school, sometimes I'll just work in my English books since it is mostly reading, or writing a story or something like that. And, since I'm a bookworm a writer, that's pretty good, I guess. :-)
My novel-in-progress has passed the 14,000 word mark, so I'm quite happy about that. So, I'm about halfway to the official halfway point of my goal, which is 50,000 words. Still a long way to go, and a lot of research to be done, but it's fun. I just hope that I don't get a bad case of writer's block.... :-)
Anyways, I suppose that is all for today.
~ ~ Sing A Song Saturday ~ September 19, 2009 ~
Hey everyone! It's time for this week's Sing A Song Saturday!
Today, the song is "Show Me Your Glory", by Third Day.
Show Me Your Glory ~ Third Day
I caught a glimpse of Your splendor
In the corner of my eye
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen
And it was like a flash of lightning
Reflected off the sky
And I know I'll never be the same
Show me Your glory
Send down Your presence
I want to see Your face
Show me Your glory
Majesty shines about You
I can't go on without You, Lord
When I climb down the mountain
And get back to my life
I won't settle for ordinary things
I'm gonna follow You forever
And for all of my days
I won't rest 'til I see You again
Show me Your glory
Send down Your presence
I want to see Your face
Show me Your glory
Majesty shines about You
I can't go on without You, Lord
Show me Your glory
Send down Your presence
I want to see Your face
Show me Your glory
Majesty shines about You
I can't go on without You, Lord
Show me Your glory
Show me Your glory
I can't live without You
~ First Day Of School ~
Hey everyone!
Today was our first day of school, and I think that it has gone great! I woke up early and went with Mom to take Tman to school this morning, and then we came home and started our work. This year I have English IV, Life Of Christ, Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey. Since my only requirement left was English, I chose a few Bible electives this year. I had put on here last year that I was going to graduate early by doing both English III and IV, but I changed my mind because I wasn't sure if I could finish them both in one year.
Oooohhhh!!! Before I go, there is officially going to be a POTC 4!!! Yes, I am really excited about that. The title, for now, is "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Just thought I'd let you fellow Pirates-fans know!
~ ~ Sing A Song Saturday ~ September 12, 2009 ~
Hey everyone!
Welcome to the first "Sing A Song Saturday" at the Sparrow's Pearl!
This was an idea I had this Summer, and what I'm going to do is on Saturdays, I'll post the lyrics to a song, and set that song as the first one on the playlist on my sidebar, so that you can listen to it too, if you want.
Today, I am posting "Voice Of Truth" by Casting Crowns. This was the first song of theirs that I heard, and it is a really good song.
Voice Of Truth ~ Casting Crowns
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again, 'Boy, you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, 'Do not be afraid!'
And the Voice of Truth says, 'This is for My glory'
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again, 'Boy, you'll never win!'
'You'll never win!'
But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth
Jesus You are the Voice of Truth
~ Fun at the Fair! ~
Hey everyone!
So, last night we went to the fair. It was so much fun! I hung out with some friends and saw my cousin and several other people I know too. I went to look at the exhibits first thing, and I placed in almost everything! My quilt placed 2nd, embroidery-1st, chocolate cake-1st, peanut butter cookies-1st, bracelet-1st. I also entered pickles, but I don't remember if they placed and what they got. I entered a Christmas ornament (didn't place), a turkey decoration, (not sure if it placed), and an acrylic painting (it didn't place). After that, we rode a bunch of rides. It was a lot of fun. We didn't leave until around 10 last night. (I was pretty tired when we got home, but I watched tv for a while.) We don't pick up the stuff we entered until Monday, which is when we get our prize money too. I'm pretty glad about placing in so many things. I'd never entered the food categories before, so I think that it's pretty cool that I placed.
Well, even though this is a really short entry, I'm gonna go.
~ It's September Already? ~
Hey everyone!
Wow, it's September already!!! Hard to believe.
So, I haven't blogged in awhile (I've been on here, I just can't seem to think of anything to post), and I thought now would be a good time to do that, even if I don't have much to say. :-)
Okay, so right now, I am listening to music on my phone, (Casting Crowns; "Until The Whole World Hears"), and obviously, playing on the computer. Today has been pretty busy...well actually all week has. Last week was spent getting stuff ready for school, and then Friday I had to get stuff ready to enter in the Fair this year. (I spent most of Friday painting). Then Saturday was my dad's family reunion. It was fun. My cousins and sister all threw ice on me (a lot), but I was outnumbered. But it was pretty warm Saturday, so I wasn't complaining...much. :-) Fun though. Then there was the trip home, and we got back around 5:30, I think. We got all of our stuff ready to take to the fair and then Dad and Tman watched football (I was in the living room, but I was sewing. I don't really get football.) Sunday, we went to church, and after lunch we went to the fairgrounds to drop off our stuff. That didn't take too long. Then I got up early today because Mom and I had to go to the store. We baked some stuff to enter in the Fair, since stuff like that had to be there by 12:00 today. (Hopefully we place!) But, we won't find out until tomorrow night since that's when we're going.
We start school next week, so this is officially my last week of Summer vacation. I'll be a Senior this year.
Well, that's all.
