The Homeschooling Question: What About Socialization?

Nomi went to the doctor for a routine medical check up recently, and after the examination the doctor starting asking questions about her lifestyle etc. which is normal, to get an idea of the whole wellbeing of the patient. It went something like this…

DOCTOR: “Ah. Year 7. Highschool next year. Which highschool will you be going to?

NOMI: “Oh, we homeschool.”

DOCTOR: “How do you socialize?”

NOMI: [Doesn’t know what he means]

DOCTOR: “Well, what do you do at night time?”

NOMI: Umm, Read lots, eat lots.

DOCTOR: Well, when do you see your friends?

NOMI: Ahh, Tuesday… Thursday… Saturday…

MUM: “And Sunday.”

DOCTOR: Wow, that’s quite a busy schedule!”

Priceless! The fact is, some of us homeschoolers are so socialized that we are neither home nor schooled very often... *grins guiltily* But hey, life itself is a learning experience, right? :-D

Yep, used to hear stuff like that alot.
As for the county taking care of the limbs on the roads here, they aren't real good about it. About every 3 to 5 years they send a truck with a saw on the side and cut them.
Son got the turkeys for just raising and eating ticks. If they get to be a hassle he will sell some of them. When they get bigger and fanning out, I will be sure and put a picture of them on my blog. They are just beautiful birds.
Have a great week.

AMEN! WE GET ASKED THAT ALL THE TIME!

Wonderful!! I laughed :)

Your school schedule sounds far more sensible than ours. Of course it's easier to stay brushed up on school when you are homeschooled than not, so I don't lose that much knowledge.

Thanks for the feedback...I'm still debating. Want me to post details when I get more about POW?

All righty, I shall get right on it.

As for how I fit three jobs in my schedule - well, I haven't started at the pharmacy yet, but when I do...I will fit them very carefully into my week. I'm still a kid. I need free time. Everybody needs free time.
