As I said last post, I've been reading The Lord Of The Rings all over again, because when I first read it I really enjoyed the story, but it didn't give me anything to think about. So now I'm reading it over again, with the goal of writing down some of my thoughts about what I've read afterwards.
Unfortunately, I've been a little carried away with the reading, and didn't do all that much writing. At the moment, the Fellowship has just entered Moria. I thought that the chapter "The Council of Elrond" had a lot of content to think about.
I've noticed that in The Lord Of The Rings, the Elves don't seem to do a lot to fight Sauron- while Aragorn and the kingdom of Gondor and Rohan fight the black hordes, the Elves are either leaving Middle Earth for ever, or living in reclusion in Mirkwood (Legolas' people, and the Elves you read about in The Hobbit), Lorien or Rivendell. Of course, both Mirkwood and Lorien were attacked by Sauron's armies during the War of the Ring, although this is mostly spoken of in the Appendixes. But compared to Gondor and Rohan, the Elves don't seem to really be doing anything.
When I looked at it, I found out that although they didn't lead great armies to battle the hordes of Mordor, the Elves aren't uninvolved. Rivendell and Lorien are vital places of shelter and rest for the Fellowship, and Galadriel's gifts are also crucial for the success of Frodo's mission. The Elves also are healing the hurts of the world, fostering all that is beautiful and good, that has been hurt by the weapons of Sauron. That is what the three Elvish rings were made for- for understanding, healing and wisdom, not for domination like the One Ring, or for wealth like the 7 Dwarf-rings. There are many ways to fight evil, from being a front-line warrior like Aragorn or Boromir, a great chief like Gandalf, or to being the healers and advisors in the background- like Elrond and the Elves. We always look at the people who do "big" things, but could have Frodo destroyed the ring without the advice of Elrond, or Galadriel's phial of light?

Never have read it before Sounds interesting.
As for our garden, hubby works in it just about every waking hour while it is light and he isn't at his job. I help in it a little but mainly pulling weeds & do the picking and canning of the veggies. Hubby is picky as to how things are done in the garden. lol
As for son's turkeys, he is talking now about selling some of them to earn a little money. He has lost about 5 now since he has started to let them loose. He had something get one last night in the cage but we assume our dog ran it off before it got any more. So now he has to fix his cage.
Have a great day my friend.

I do not think that Shia LaBeouf is a christian but he kinda says that he would be willing to be one. Hes a guy. :)
I have not had trouble posting comments but I'll try posting one on my blog and seeing if it works the first time. Stuff like that has happened to me before but eventualy it goes away. Thanks for letting me know!

In reply ( at long last )
Yes, I did draw the picture out of my own head, I usually draw straight from my imagination, when it comes to real things, I just do it the lazy way and take a picture with my camera.
What I like about drawing from the imagination is that I get to draw what the places in my book really look like.
Some houses in England do look a little bit like that, loads of the houses I draw look a bit English or Scottish.
Thankyou for commenting, and sorry for taking something like two or three months to reply. I was busy re-writing my book - I have got to chapter 30 at the moment.
I had actually meant to reply about a month or two ago, but I forgot.

Thanks for the comment
Yes, I think that is a good idea.
By the way, about the semi-colons I agree with you. Looking back over that I noticed straight away, as a matter of fact, I have wondered about that a few times during the writing of my book, but have been to lazy to do anything about it, you see, I just type really fast puntuation and all.

England is cold? Well, compared to Austrailia I suppose even our summer must be colder than your winter, but at the moment we are in the middle of a heatwave, and honestly the skies are clear cloudless blue and it really is very hot.
Our house is 100 years old, but we still think that's cool and sometimes look for secret passages, we found one which was rather like a secret-passage,a kid could fit in it, but it wouldn't exactly be advised - and anyway it might lead to a dead end, or I don't think the next-door neighbours would be too pleased if we popped up in their kitchen.
I have never thought of what it must be like for an Austrailian to see how cold England must seem after the boiling, scorching heat of their own country. Cor! What an astonishing difference it would be. Do you think it would be like diving-head-first-into-a-freezing-lake cold?
I actually like our climate. I wonder what it must be like in Austrailia.
I don't exactly know how long the film will be, it really is just a few highlights and clips - some longer scenes lasting at an average of about five minutes each probably - at the moment we have just been taking photographs of some of the rehearsals, and we have been planning which parts people should act and such and such.

Hey!
Yep! I'm loving it so far! Right now the Fellowship are just now leaving Rivendell. So I suppose I'm too far behind you. :)
I did have a few thoughts. Maybe I'll post them today. I'll let you know when I do. k! :D
Oh okay. It's fine. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having the same problem.

Hey!
I'm glad you like my 'thoughts'. :)
Again, thanks for giving me the idea to write them all down!
I know I have plenty of things that I am way to consumed with...such as the computer. All the time I tell myself, "Why not go outside?...it's better for you!" but I constantyly ignore that thought. It's defenetly hard...but then...why is it?
I'll be sure to share my other thoughts as soon as I can. But I do know I won't be on the computer tomorrow. So we'll see.
Anyways...have a nice day!...and can't wait to hear from you!
God bless,
Sheilla Kiwi

Well, at the moment we have had a heatwave in England and it has been 30 to 32 celcius! And the highest England has reached in summer is 36. So I suppose our summers must be as cold as your winters. It was intersting hearing about the weather in your country,
I don't think I willbe able to upload the film though, I might just be able to post pictures of it.... I don't know
Thankyou for commenting.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hey
Thanks!! :D I am glad you like my writtings. :)
It really is a team effort to destroy the ring. Everyone pitches in. The slightest bit of encouragment is a help. :) I am sure that if Frodo was all alone trying to get to Mt.Doom we would have never made it. You are right that Gollum does help, even thought hes not trying to.
There are so many lessons in LOTR it is hard to write them all down. At the moment I am also taking a break from LOTR. I recently got some books from the Library and so I've been reading those but I hope to soon be back into the Fellowship. :)
Maybe I will write about some other stuff soon. If I do I'll be sure to let you know. If you have any more, please let me know! I love to read your writtings. :)
