Hello everybody. It's been a long time since I have blogged. I am in Boy Scouts now, and I have grown out my hair, but then buzz cut it yesterday.
Before:

After:

Big change! I like it because it feels I've lost a load (of hair). I think I now weigh 2 pounds less than I did before. |

Last night was my birthday, well not my original birthday, it was my scout birthday. A scout birthday is when you are 2-4 months away from bridging over from cubscout to boyscout . For my present, I got to play a game and eat a snack. I also got to make a fire with the older boy scouts, although I did want to go with the younger ones since I knew alot of them. The game was that the first one to burn a rope to the top won. We had to use the earth's elements and only 2 matches. The other team won because they used pinestraw. The younger team didn't even start their fire until the other team won. Our team took second place.
I will bridge in January. Until then, I have to get my Arrow of Light award. I have to get one more pin, the Outdoorsman. I also have to go camping with the boy scouts one time. |

GameBoy and Swimming
Only 10 more days until my BIRTHDAY!!! I can't wait to blog then.
I got a new GameBoy and we got two games to go with it. Those games are Spiderman and Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong is for GameBoy Colors, but you are able to play it on GameBoy Advanced which is what mine is. My friend has an SP. They call it an SP because you don't have to stand in the light to play. The GameBoy Colors is cheaper, but it is really old and they die really fast.
Yesterday we went swimming for a really long time at my friends pool. His brother got a new kick board which was fun. The bad thing was that when he was trying to surf he fell down and the kickboard was still attached to him. We had to help him get up before he drowned!!! Luckily, he survived. That is why you should never use the attachers unless you are on the ocean. We used the attachers as a rope to pull us after that which was much more safe. |

Catching up with my blog
I am sorry that I haven't blogged in a long time, I have been doing lots of stuff. I have been reading my Redwall book, it's the first one of the series. I got a new dog named Oreo. We called her Oreo because she is black and white. She is about 3 or 4 months old now.
My birthday is coming up at the end of the month! I will be 10 this year. I might be going to the Laser tag center for my party. I hope that I will be able to.
This summer, I have been swimming alot! We have also been going to Gymnastics and it is getting easier. The bad thing is that I won't have the same teacher this year because she left since she hurt her leg really bad.
Three or four weeks ago, I got a new game for my GameCube. It's called Medal of Honor-European Assalt. It is fun, but it isn't as hard as the other Medal of Honor-Front Line.
I can't wait for hunting season this year, my Dad might let me shoot this year. I am hoping that if I am able to, I will actually shoot something. |

School Days
Today I go to gymnastics. so does my brother & sister. I just joined and so did my sister. I really like it!
We have been studying in History, Ancient Greece. It is one of my most favorite subjects. I learned how to make pottery like the Myceneans. I think we will do more today. The people before the Myceneans were the Minoans. They lived in the island of Crete. They were great shipbuilders. Some of my favorite things in History is listening to some of the stories that they told.
Next year my Mom is going to be the school Support Group leader so she had to answer some questions about my favorite subjects. I chose Reading and Science.
The thing I like about Reading is that my Mom lets me read whatever I want as long as it is at least on my grade level.
The best thing about science is that we get to do fun experiments. Hopefully soon we will make a volcano. We are about to grow crystals this week. Last time we grew them, Andrew shook the holder and it all crumbled.

Wednesdays!
I have pizza every Wednesday night when I go to my friend's church. I love going there because they have fun and games and we get to play cool games like Bible Trivia and Chinese freeze tag and cartoon freeze tag.
When you play cartoon freeze tag you have say a phrase of the character that you are when you get tagged and if the person doesn't guess who you are then they are automatically tagged!
I ALWAYS know who my brother is because he only chooses SpongeBob or Patrick.
We go to a P.E. class on Wednesdays. Yesterday we played a cool frisbee game, but we had no idea that we were exercising at the same time. My little sister gets to play with her friends each time we go. Next year she will be old enough to participate with us.
Next week we are doing the Shuttle Run and that will be it for P.E. for the year . I can't wait for it to start back next year. |

The Good Camp

This is me and my Dad and my baby brother. We are sitting by the fire at our campsite. The temperature felt like it was below freezing almost every night and day! There were big woods all around us. We would go to gather firewood and sometimes we would just go out for fun. It was the greatest time of my life. We got to stay with four of my best friends Luke, John Pierce, Caleb and Garth . At nighttime it was super-cold, but we would make a fire and roast marshmallows and drink hot chocolate to keep us warm. I like my marshmallows burnt. Sometimes you need to stop the fire or it will melt straight away.

The Cool Things I See...

Hey everybody! This is me looking through my microscope. I am looking at celery skin. I learned that organs are made out of tissue and tissue is made up of cells. Cells are living things that make up our bodies. Every living thing has cells so what you see is us looking at the cells in celery. I hope my Dad will be able to see it tonight. It is really cool, you can see little shiny things that are inside the celery. If you own a microscope and you like celery to eat, you could try looking at the skin.
Today, I am looking forward to looking at some dead skin from my foot and some hair from my head. We also have some slides that are already prepared like a feather and we will be looking at some more of those today that belong to our neighbors.
I really like my microscope, I am really interested in all of these things that I find.
I also have my own telescope. We are going camping this weekend and I am looking forward to looking into it at night. Most of my friends might come too!

Field Trip Day and Other Things...
A few day's ago we went on a couple field trips. The first one was a cookie factory. I got to see how they made the cookies and when you go to the stores to buy them, the mini-cookies are only $0.99! We were able to sample cookies just out of the oven.
Next, we went to one of our local news stations. It was very big and since was the first time I ever went, it was quite a surprise. We got to meet the sports reporter and he gave us free footballs (the little plastic kind). Then we were heading down to where they do the news, but they were doing a commercial so we had to go down to where the sattelites were and wait. It was outside so we played football while we waited. It took about 15-20 minutes to finish the commercial. That was good timing for a good game. When we went back in, we got to see the studio and meet our weather guy. Below is a picture of us on a TV screen doing the weather!

What you see on TV is not the way it really is. It is really just a big wooden green wall and the weather guy uses a projector to show the places, but he can't see them. He can look at the TV screen that is in front of him which shows him what we all see.
On another subject, I do guitar practice on Saturdays. I am still learning the basics, but it is getting easier and easier every week. It is fun, I can already play a song, it is just not that well yet, but I am getting the hang of it.
Now to the Hobbit like I said that I would. I just finished the chapter Flies and Spiders, I am going to tell you how the journey begins. It all starts out with a plain old hobbit called Bilbo. He has a wizard friend named Gandolf. Bilbo is told he will be a thief for this adventure. Him and 12 dwarfs have to go on the journey to stop the dragons smaug and to go through many riddles and to find many weird creatures like Gollum. If you ever read the book, I hope that you have a good time. I love it! Oh, yes, and when you get to the Elven Halls, it is really funny.

My Studies
I have been doing things that are really cool, like going to museums and seeing movies. The movie and the museum were both about Africa which we have been studying about in school. We have been studying Ancient Africa in History and we have been studying present Africa in Geography. I am really enjoying it.
We have been going to the library grabbing books about it and space, which we have been learning about in Science. I got a telescope for Christmas, but we still have to figure it out. The neatest thing I know is the sun is the closest star but not necessarily the biggest in our galaxy, The Milky Way.
I like to learn about these things. |

The heavy deer
Last time I said that I would be going hunting with my Dad. I said that I hoped that we would get something and as you can see in the pictures we got a buck! This is me and my Dad.

This is me and my friend Caleb. We had a great time, but we did not sit together.

This deer is a spike. This was my third time to go hunting. Each time we got a doe so this one was great. It weighed around 150 pounds. I can't wait to eat the jerky from it.

Alot of Stuff
I have alot of stuff to talk about because I am way behind on my blogging!
First, I went to go see the Narnia movie with my Mom. I really liked it. It was opening night and we went to the 8 o'clock show. It was so packed that we had to sit in the front row. That stinks, but at least we got to see it!
A few Saturdays ago, I got to go hunting with my Dad. We shot a deer that day and we only had to sit for about 30 minutes. After we took care of the deer, we went back out for awhile. This Saturday we are going to go again, hopefully we will see another one. Caleb is coming with us this time!
We went to Grammy and Pop's. We got to eat there and there was lots of good food. They gave us cool presents after we ate then we played Chicken Limbo and football with our Dad's. We had a great time! |

This year' s Christmas
This year Christmas is going to be great, I can just tell. All the years before have been so wonderful and this year will probably be the same way.
Today I have worked on school and all I have left is my Grammar. After I finish that we are going to put up our Christmas Tree. I would play with my friends, but it is storming outside pretty bad. Well still, setting up the tree is fun. |

Renaissance Festival

A few days ago I went to the Renaissance Festival in North Carolina. This is one of the costumes that we saw there. Kind of funny, huh? Jacob laughed hard when he saw this! We got to play lots of games. Most of them were from the Medieval Times. The others were just for fun. We got to get swords that were made of wood. We had a great time.

My Jog
Today I went to Gym class. We had to run or jog. There were different types of age groups so we had to split up and do different types of laps. We are doing this for the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge. Here are how many laps the age groups had to run: 5 and under-1 lap, that is 1/4 of a mile, 6 and 7 year olds had to run 2 laps, which is 1/2 of a mile, 8 and up had to run 4 laps which is one whole entire mile. I did 4 laps because I am 9 years old. It was pretty hard because I am not used to jogging, but it was a pretty good thing to do for exercise. Through the run I lost my breath but I knew that I had to keep on trying if I wanted to make a good time so I kept on. I made a great time because I didn't give up.
Today is my sister's birthday, last night Momma and I got her presents. I got pretty lucky because I got to get a video for me which was called Shrek 2. Happy Birthday Julianna! |

Knights and Castles
I have been reading a book called Knights and Castles by Will and Mary Pope Osborne. There were different types of people 500 years ago. Those people had a thing called a Feudal System. There were 4 different levels in this system, they were: King, Baron, Knight and Serf. The King was ruler over all the land. The Baron was a nobleman who didn't own his land, but was in charge of it. He also had to swear an allegiance to the king which meant that he would die for the king and his kingdom and if there were a battle, he would send in his knights. The Knights protected the castle and the King. They had to swear an allegience to the King and the Baron. The Serfs were very poor, they usually worked in the fields or in the castle. They didn't have many rights.
My favorite was the Knight. I liked the Knight because they fought for the King. There were different things you had to do to become a Knight, you had to begin training at age 7 then when you became 14 you would become a squire. Then at age 21 you could become a Knight. As a knight you would wear armor that was called mail. Mail was made out of little steel rings that were linked together. All of this was so heavy that they had to wear padded underwear. It was hard to stand up. They also carried a sword and shield. I enjoy this book and I hope that you can read the book also. |

The Great Vacation
I have been on vacation to Daphne, AL to visit my friends. It was great there, we got to do lots of stuff. We were going to go see the Blue Angels fly, but it rained so we had to see the museum instead. The museum had lots of airplanes in it. My favorite thing was where you could get into all the cockpits of the planes. I pretended that I was in the Air Force and so did my friends. We pretended that we were fighting other people, but we stuck together. After we got out of the cockpits, we had to have a buddy to walk with. That way, if we got lost we would have somebody to be with.
The last night we were there it was pretty great. We were in a camper. It was just the boys! It was pretty cool because we got to stay up alot and watch The Incredibles.
The next morning when we had to go home it was not very great. The only thing we got to do was ride bikes and go to Chic-Fil-A. We wished that we all could have at least one more day there , but we had no other choice because my Grandpa was coming down.
The next day was pretty great because we did get to spend time with my Grandpa, but we still missed our friends. We did get to go out to eat alot, and we don't usually do that so that was nice. |

My day...
I went swimming with my friends today. It was very fun. Sometimes when we swim, we invent new games. For example we play a game called Dead Man. You have one person who closes his/her eyes then the other players have to not get caught by the Dead Man or they will become Dead Man. You have to have at least three players.
After we got out of the pool we played this game called Wrestling Match. This is where you wrestle until the last guy is standing. This is not a game for crybabies.
I also got to play my GameCube. I played NCAA football 2003. When I played, I made alot of touchdowns. I won two games in a row! My brother played with me also. He helped me to make a few of those touchdowns. He likes to be the fastest players. Our favorite teams are not the same. His is Alabama, but mine is Auburn. When I grow up I want to go to Auburn University. |

My dog Millie
This is my dog. Her name is Millie. I like her because she likes to run just like I do. I like to play fetch with her and she sleeps in my bed with me. Millie gets kind of wound up sometimes, but she is a good dog anyway.
