This is a video of Sarah and me playing Classical Bash. We have practiced it EVERY time we have gotten together for a very long time. I think we did pretty well. I hope it really posts the video. Sarah showed me how last night, but I don't know if I am doing it right. Love, Anna |

Feb. 12, 2009 - I'm posting!!!Hey Everyone!!! I'm posting! I got some new songs at violin group! New songs are always fun! Devil's reel(that one's fun to play!), Joys Of Wedlock, Blackberry Blossom, Red Wind, Down Yonder. And, I got a complement at our latest violin meeting!!!! Our teacher (Miss Heather) said she could tell I'd been working on the thing she's been picking on me to fix for awhile. I've been having a problem with not leaving a "V" space at the bottom of my thumb and finally, it's starting to fix! :-) She also said that her ultimate goal for our group is to get us to the point of being able to play for people for money!!!! Like for weddings and dinner parties and such! That's kinda a scary thing to think about. Well, I need to end this post now because my sister just made sugar cookies and a good violinist needs energy, right? Love, Anna |

Jan. 14, 2009 - fiddle musicHello, Well the fiddle songs are coming along....SLOWLY! I know practicing every day helps, but it's just not happening fast enough. I seem to be able to hit all the notes and then I try to speed it up and then it turns into all squeaks! :-) Where's Sarah when you need her? "Sarah"! :-) My songs that I am working on are Temperance Reel, The Girl I Left Behind Me, Whalen's Breakdown, Black Velvet Waltz, Country Waltz, Cripple Creek, Arkansas Traveler and Bowing The Strings. Oh that last song is SO hard! I am teaching my sister Rachel as much as I know about playing. She got a nice fiddle/violin(viddle) like mine for christmas. I am going thru the same book with her as I used called The Violin Book(that's hard to remember isn't it? LOL!) 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. There's a book 6a that teaches vabrato(sp?) but I never did that one.. The books are pretty self explanitory which I like. Rachel is coming along great. Her only thing is that I don't know how far she will get with reading music because she plays incredible by ear! She can hear a song once, and then pick it out. We'll see. Happy viddlin! Anna |

Jan. 10, 2009 - My first post!!Hey everyone... My dear friend Sarah has created a blog for the two of us to blog about our fidddling(more termed viddling!). I will do my best to figure this thing out since I've never had a blog before. :-) I just returned from a very fun-viddle filled morning! I just came home from a viddle party that the violin group that I am in hosted. It was so much fun! We played a game where we each had a name of a viddle song or composer taped to our backs and people had to give you clues as to what the name was taped to your back and then you had to guess it. We also had a mini hoe down!!! We played Old Joe Clark/Boil Cabbages taking turns playing different parts of the song and speeding it up and up!!! I could do that everyday! So, how has my first post been? Ok? Love, Anna |
