One Prayer Finally Answered

After much frusteration with his job schedule, Jon finally went to BJ Services and got a job, it was a better as far as travel and pay..., but still the 2 weeks on 1 week off schedule. Jon went to tell his current boss that he was quiting, his boss offered him a transfer to their frac dept. He said he would talk to Jon later about it. An hour  later, his boss called him in and offered him a transfer to frac with a 5 and 2 schedule, meaning Mon -Fri , home most evenings ( between 2pm and 8pm, no set schedule, but better than the 10pm or midnight he was getting home), and weekends off! This is the kind of schedule we have been praying for , for the last 2 years. Pay is still the same, which is fine with us. We mostly were tired of the traveling and being out of town for a week at a time, it was getting to the point where we would not see him for 2 weeks at a time. That was when we started looking for a change.   His current boss and the new boss are talking to see when he will start, and get the paperwork done, not sure when the change will take effect. We are going camping next week so it will at least be after that. This also solves our one car dimlema we have been talking about. I can run my errands on Sat., and every other Tues when we go to Violin lessons. It is not a big deal to take the car one work day every couple of weeks.

I though of 2 more reasons why camping is not on my favorite list.. NO airconditioning, and I have to wear actual shoes. You know me I wear sandals as long as the sidewalks are not covered in snow, if I can wear them and not get my toes frozen then I will. This will be a challenge, but I think I will survive. The kids are really excited and I made my packing list last night, Jon previewed it for me I did not want to miss anything important. Omar even will be earning his badge for Camping for Contenders of the Faith.

They have a new book out Little contenders of the Faith for 4-6 yr olds and Little Keepers at home for 4-6 yr old girls. So we ordered their stuff, it came today. They are so excited.. Naomi has been doing Keepers at Home and they really wanted to be apart, but they were to young.  So far Naomi has earned plastic canvas, table setting, violin, decoupage, and Bible Reading ( gospels - acts).

Thats all the excitement at our little home in the desert.

Michelle, are you a part of a Keepers of the Home group or are you just doing it on your own?

We are doing the Keepers group on our own, as a family. I am not sure if there is a group around here.
