Camping!
I cannot believe it! I actually went camping and we had a wonderful time.  The campground was very nice and maintained well. We had not only real toilets, but showers - "gasp"!  We found a swimming "cove"  just the perfect temperature to cool off from the heat. We went swimming in both the mornings and afternoons. There were only 5 other campers at the site , so we had the place to ourselves! Yeah! The view was so amazing and yes it was hot, but the wind kept us with a nice constant breeze. I even wore my sandals the whole time. This was so different from my camping in the middle of nowhere with no bathrooms or anything as a child.  We cooked over the fire everything from pancakes, chicken, hot dogs, sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, corn on cob and yes even smores. The kids loved it. I told stories of how my great grandmother ( who was half- indian), grew up living in a cave and cooking her food on a  large flat rock out side the cave. Of course Alyvia thought I was absolutely nuts when I told this story, when I finally convinced her it was true she was baffled and said " how come she did not know to go find a house!". Well, all I can say is that being a half breed back then was not a popular thing and they ended up living with other indians or off on their own.  This was almost 100 yrs ago. My how times have changed. Anyway, it was a peaceful, wonderful, trip and I will go again. But let me tell you that bubble bath I took as soon as I got home, sure was amazjng.
